All this revenge...over a girl that showed him not a shred of romantic interest. Simpin' has never been easier.

Well done episode tho. Dat budget. Next few eps will take place in one room.

I... don't... know how to process this episode.

The swag. The sheer swag on display.

Everything on the freighter. The sheer insanity.

I just.

I just can't.

The fanfic is coming, isn't it?

Official Description for Arrow Episode 17
Birds of Prey
When Frank Bertinelli (guest star Jeffrey Nordling) is arrested, Oliver (Stephen Amell) knows it’s only a matter of time before his daughter, Helena, AKA The Huntress (guest star Jessica De Gouw), returns to town. To make matters worse, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is picked to try Frank’s case, putting her right in the path of Helena. Oliver tells Sara (Caity Lotz) he will handle his ex-girlfriend, but when Helena takes hostages at the courthouse, including Laurel, the Canary will stop at nothing to save her sister. When The Huntress and Canary meet, an epic battle begins. Meanwhile, Roy (Colton Haynes) realizes he needs to keep Thea (Willa Holland) safe, but doesn’t like the way he is forced to go about it. John Behring directed the episode written by Mark Bemesderfer & A.C. Bradley.

At least they've fully admitted that
Huntress is a full-blown psychotic villain.

I hope Merlyn comes back into the show soon. I really want to see some kind of interaction/confrontation between Merlyn and Slade.

I can't wait for Ra's to hit.

Jesus Christ, Ollie's got a lot on his plate.

Merlyn, Slade, Ra's, the Suicide Squad, Brother Blood, Huntress, everyone's gonna come gunning for him.

Incredible episode.

I loved how they sold Slade's vendetta. I thought it would be stretch to see him hold on to a grudge for that long, but seeing its origins on the Amazo, as well as the set up at the Queen mansion (which gave everyone a chance to exchange loaded looks with each other), made it totally believable.

The great thing is that Slade clearly said Ivo was the one who killed Shado, not Olie, but he still doesn't give a fuck and will have his revenge.

At this point it isn't just about him liking Shado. It's that Ollie concealed the truth to him about how she died, it's the Mirakuru messing with his mind, and it's the desire to get revenge against the people who killed Shado, and wanting to get the hell off the island.

Guys, come on. There's no way that's
Harley Quinn
in the preview.
One of my favourite DC character... I need this really bad.
The fact that we've heard almost nothing about this doesn't leave me with much hope, probably just a 10 second cameo played by an extra.
Remember the spoilers a while back about Oliver not being the first vigilante? What if that was referring to Batman.

I don't think we should be hyped about
Harley Quinn
being in Arrow just yet. It might just be an easter egg or nod to the fans and nothing more.

Harley has a very iconic look and history with the Suicide Squad. Considering the context she was shown in it kinda has to be her, and I doubt it's just going to be a small cameo considering she's in the preview. If it was just going to be a 10 second cameo why put her in the preview at all? Why not just leave it to be discovered during the episode?

To get people talking about it and get them hyped to watch the next episode, even if it's somewhat misleading

How to get back at somebody you hate by Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson.

Kill his family, make voyeur porn, fuck his mom & take out his black driver!

This episode just plain delivered! That tension was just insane! Slade is The Based God!

Pretty good. I don't think they did a very good job of selling Slade's reasons for revenge though.

Eh I think they are fine enough. They've established that Slade is basically on perma roid rage so he isn't thinking too clearly. Slade obviously saw how Ollie got the girl, his girl, so there's always been some envy there. Now that she's gone and Slade knows Ollie could have potentially saved her, he's going to shift all that blame, regret, envy, and rage onto Ollie. Also doesn't help that Oliver put an arrow through his eye and presumably left him for dead on the island (we don't know exactly how this happens or what happens to Slade in those 5 years).

Dude's hella pissed, and just wants to make someone pay, unfortunately Oliver is the easiest scapegoat for everything awful that's happened to Slade in the past 5 years. Not to mention he already felt betrayed before and has trust issues because of Wintergreen. Dude is mentally f'd up and the mirakuru just amplifies it all.

That mirakuru sure does make one overreact, 5 years later and still trying to kill his entire family.

I've held grudges for a long time but even I eventually begin to stop caring. Slade is wholly dedicated to his cause.

Also: Empty eye socket is admittedly creepy but Slade installing lights inside it so it is fully illuminated (in a dark room) is a little bit creepier.

Goddamn what an ep, Slade owned team arrow like a boss.

Now a two week break, it's not fair but at least the next is the suicide squad one...

I mean the instant transition in the flashbacks from "We're bros" to "KIIILLLLL". His present-day revenge plot makes much more sense for reasons like this:

Also doesn't help that Oliver put an arrow through his eye and presumably left him for dead on the island (we don't know exactly how this happens or what happens to Slade in those 5 years).

But the past thing just makes him look pathetic. It was fundamentally flawed. If their plan was always to use Shado like this, they should have made her more of a big sister mentor figure to Oliver (I know it's blasphemy for these writers to imagine Oliver not getting the girl for once) and had Slade be romantically involved with her. That would make that transition believable. If they wanted to make it even more tragic Shado could have been pregnant too because you know Slade's manly-ass sperm got in that egg the first time he raw dogged her.

I don't buy that it's just Shado. I mean Oliver took one of his eyes and presumably left him for dead too. Sure the Shado thing is a big reason but I doubt it's the only reason.

If I had to guess I'd say it was because he considered Oliver a brother and a friend, and that It feels like he stabbed him in the back by not telling him anything; that and the fact that he got Shado killed.
It’s how I look at it, It still seems a bit far fetched but at least it’s a better reason than “Wah wah Shado’s dead now I’m going to kill everyone”
