Dude, you forgot the feet
to bad you got axed.. Why? Well, Dive in to those model drawings. I can see you're really getting good at it.
There were some politics involved. I know it wasn't about the work I was doing, just some high level disagreements on .. stuff. Lots of good friends though, I know 98 percent of the place was shocked and sad to see me go.

What are you using for your reference with the character sketches, Spaniard?
Also, does anyone have any tips or anything on blocking in colour when painting digitally (ie. Photoshop)? I know that's kind of a tough thing to teach, but I'm a total novice still and I have such difficulty starting a painting once I have a rough sketch done up.
Without trying to sound like a total snob, I dont use reference for my poses. I just sketch loosely, pick a pose I like and then do a more detailed version of it. At that point in the process I'll look at reference for particular parts (if the hands are doing something tricky or if theres muscle groups Im not too familiar with) I work out and stay in good shape so I have some decent muscle definition, so that with a full body mirror tends to take care of most issues.
For coloring in Photoshop youll find a million tutorials, but heres what works best for me, go to this link and download this action:
http://cghub.com/scripts/view/80
Actions in Photoshop are a series of effects done in sequence. With this action, just load it up, press play and it will setup the black and white image for you to color under the lines. Just make sure the image is flattened before you use it or it wont work.
As for general tips you have to find your own style, but I suggest to always play the contrast between hot and cool colors, dont be afraid to go crazy and experiment and stay loose early, refine later (meaning, dont worry about coloring inside the lines, shit like that, youll clean up later) Try not to use too many brushes or filters or opacity changes, sticking with the basics will help you get better faster. Also, there is no shame to colorpick from other images you like to learn about color theory and application. Oh, also, try never to use straight black or white unless youre doing it on purpose. You can add shadows to most things with some blue, for instance, and it will make your images more life like.
