I've started leaning more towards indie stuff lately and it's a blast just working with a few buddies in collaboration. Sooooo much more chill than having a design-by-committee gaggle of 15 bosses who don't play any games yet it's their job to dictate changes for an artist/designer regardless of whether or not they think those changes are a good direction.
I have the chance now to actually noodle about with assets and animations.
It seems like an artist could do indie stuff and still be able to manage a fine-art lifestyle selling their work in a gallery. And I always hope to be able to do stuff for games

So far its been fun yeh. The one freelance game I'm working on has me doing lots of in game graphics and sprite assets. So its been really good fun doing that and all the concept art for it. And getting paid for doing this work is also VERY cool.
Yeah Im hoping when I do start getting full-time work (I should think Ill be working full-time at a studio), I still have time/energy to work on Indie projects outside of work. I can imagine they feel much more rewarding to work on, since you can contribute so much more to it. No cog in the machine stuff.

First off I want to say awesome job to everyone! I've gone through this thread and really enjoyed looking at everyone's work.

Second I would like to show some of my work I did a few years ago. I have distanced myself from digital painting and drawing as of late to focus on my web programming skills. However I feel like my talent and passion are with drawing and digital painting.

These were all done with photo reference in photoshop with a wacom. Hope you guys like.
