As a consumer, are you going to continue investing in MS products after everything that’s happening at the Xbox Division?

Will you?

No, never again. Buying the Series X was a waste of money for me.

Bought it after all their acquisitions and thinking that the 360 haydays were imment again. How wrong I was... The studios they bought either don't do anything or subpar games. And now most of those are even released on Playstation...

Eh, Xbox is peanuts compared to to other shady shit they are doing. Anyways, still using their stuff for now but looking to move certain things over to other providers.

I have Office 365 Family due to damn good pricing (1TB for 6 users, Office and other stuff), but looking at some alternatives so hopefully will move this soonish.

Plus still have an Azure sub I use for testing and a few other things. That's basically my "home lab" to an extent (get bunch of credits from work). And still have XSX for mostly BC.

Sure - Gamepass is, as of today, still a great value for me. I have a PC as well, and if the rumors are true that the next xbox will effectively be a HTPC with access to Xbox storefront & Steam - I will absolutely do that.

I believed in SX and was a happy customer but I don't want to support someone that keeps changing vision every 3nmonths. I had great hopes for halo and star field, and even if they were good games they weren't the system seller that should have been... I'm back to pc (and sold the sx couple of weeks ago) and sincerely I'm letting my gp subscription expire, I prefer buying fewer games but selected by me.

Have owned every Xbox system (and PlayStation to be fair). Will never buy another Xbox console or "console" ever again. I also don't game on PC so none of that Xbox PC nonsense either.

Will take a wait and see approach with the PS6.

Depends on what they have to offer. As an Xbox only device? Unlikely. Being able to easily play libraries from Steam, Epic, etc will make it a hell of a lot more tempting.

Fuck no. When i got Doom on pc gamepass (has denuvo) i finished it in a few days and refunded right away and ended up spending like $2

Never getting any MS stuff again either

Spending money on products and services is not investing, it's purchasing.

I will continue to be a customer and buy some of their products and services where it makes sense.

My problem with investing in the Xbox ecosystem is the lack of consistency in the vision.

All these acquisitions were meant to bring more games to Gamepass and more revenue in general, but all these closures and layoffs makes me not believe in the former and only focusing on the latter, which as a consumer, is not making me want to invest further.

Overall, the problem with Xbox is that its a small income stream within MS, while Sony, Nintendo and Steam all rely on gaming for a lot or all of their revenue. The incentive to invest is different between companies, and its showing.

They would have to dramatically change for the better , which I don't think with these people like Spencer etc is realistic , so no.

There is being a passionate fan and then there is being a zealot imbecile, im not that far gone yet.

You will have nowhere to play if you keep doing this, whenever layoffs happen in a company.

Soon will be reduced to Nintendo cause you don't know what goes on there.
Don't "Sony too" here, Sony Interactive Entertainment (PS division) is pretty much the only division that brings money to the table, and consoles are almost entirely the reason for that

Xbox division is to Microsoft what the phone (Xperia) segment is to Sony.

As soon as steam OS is giving me equal performance in gaming on PC I'm out.
Yeah I would for sure look into that as well

At the end of the day as shitty as this was and even previous layoffs as well I just wouldn't paint myself into a corner of saying I am not buying a product over mass layoffs

If these next machines (have to be careful the words I use as people want to pick apart everything) are interesting enough in what they do I will buy one

That has nothing to do with layoffs.

Every company do it every few years.

If only it were just about the layoffs.
What else? Enlighten me.

Already took decisions months ago by selling my XBsX.. And I got into consoles with the first Xbox (was PC before that....) and totally loved the 360 era... so a big let down... I'll go on with my journey on PS and NiN but who knows where they're going....

Won't invest in Gamepass or Console
Maybe some games that deserve I'll buy them at the right time, Day One or Sales

Surely won't preorder anyone, most of their games appeared to be promising but released true let downs

Ill keep an open mind about the next console but they would have to absolutely blow me away with an amazing system and also an incredible line up of titles day on / first year to make me invest in the platform again.

Luckily I have awesome PCs so I can continue to enjoy gamepass and their titles day one if I make the full switch to PC. It seems a no brainer at this point.

Xbox is a shambles.

Xbox console has a niche. There is a reason why it exists and has a fanbase. I cannot entirely replace it with something else.

The smartest move would have been to see the writing on the wall back in 2013 like most of us did.

Instead you kept investing to the point where you can't get out.

Stockholm syndrome at this point.

My biggest issue with these layoffs is how much they shape Microsoft's software output into essentially being ABK, a mega publisher that coasts on the back of select massive and safe titles and does nothing else. I already didn't give a fuck about COD and now it's their "1 more thing" announcement, which kinda tells you where their mind really is at these days.

For the hardware/platform side I had already made my mind up not to buy anything on the Xbox app that I can't get anywhere else at the same quality. Which basically means it's all gonna be backcompat titles that either aren't on PS/Steam/Nintendo or are on there but don't have the same quality (things like 60fps or 4k support or HDR etc).. This is an increasingly dwindling number of titles which kinda says a lot imo.

This is my first xbox.

I was going to get XOne but skipped it due to online circus. I have come to realise it was a mistake to skip it.
