Happy Ash Wednesday, everyone!

Lee Majors is a great choice! I was still kind of hoping that Bruce was able to woo Shatner over as his dad, but this route is just as good. I'm also glad that they finally confirmed Ted Raimi for this season. Still not sure how I feel about them diving into Ash's past though. Doing that stuff is usually a big no no when it comes to horror series.

Bruce posted that on social media.

Lttp, but finally finished season 1. Great stuff and I'm glad shows like this exist on TV. Im not too tied to the movies so I appreciated it for what it was. Bring on season 2.

I finally got a chance to watch the show series and absolutely loved it. The first episode is probably still the best and my favourite but boy the rest of the season does a fantastic job of capturing what I love about the movies.

Bruce Campbell kills it as always and the sidekick characters weren't as bad as I feared. As an Aussie it was funny to randomly see the girls from a long running Aussie soap in the show. They went out in style though. Amazing.

Pretty much :)

Me watching: Oh hey, the blonde girl maybe safe. She's good. She's good. She's...oh she's been blown to fuck out the front door in a fountain of blood. Lol took it like a trooper!

Purposefully avoiding reading anything in this thread, as I just started this show today and blasted through the first four episodes. I pretty much love everything about it, right down to the trash CGI. The cast sells everything so well.

I know absolutely nothing about this universe. Never saw any of the films. I'm glad this stands alone. I might even go back and watch them at some point.

I'm guessing they'll premiere the trailer at SDCC this month. They just announced they'll be doing some kind of screening there for Season 2. I think last time they did a surprise showing of the first episode there.

Glad to hear that they are looking to learn from the mistakes of he first season. On rewatches the middle chunk of season one had some real rough episodes (mainly 5-7). The show really found its groove once they got to the cabin and began to feel like the movies I loved. Not just in tone, but in pacing and creativity. I doubt they'll be going back there in again season 2 so I hope they at least bring what they learned from the cabin to Jacksonville with them.

Is Raimi directing?

Doesn't seem like it. The last interview I read from him made it sound like he was passing off the series to the show runners and would only direct if they really needed him to. Raimi is supposed to be at the SDCC panel so I'm sure we'll get a definitive answer then.

can't wait for bluray of Season 1

Best Buy has an exclusive steelbook edition available for pre-order. Think I might pick that one up.

Teaser looks awesome, don't remember seeing as much gore in 30 seconds lol.

Glad Lucy seems to have a bigger part this time and it looks like part of the team now, guess she's not completely evil then and seems to be helping Ash clear up some of their mess, although I can imagine she will have her own agenda too.

This is going to be bloody brilliant, bring on October.

I was a little worried that they might veer away from some of the Evil Deadness since they did cram a lot of the throwback stuff in the first season. Loving that seem to be taking it a step further with the possessions where headless bodies and intestines (!) are staying possessed. And they also look to be using practical effects for the most part! All that splatter looked far chunkier and gooier than anything that was displayed in the first season. Seems like visually everything has a bit more budget behind it too.

Also I thought this was starting a month earlier in September? I guess they felt an October premiere would be the best way to promote the series.

Yeah I thought that, seems like they have a bigger budget for the effects this time and they definitely look even better quality than last season, didn't notice any dodgy CGI either.
