Reconnected with my sister and I found out that her favorite game is League of Legends. She just turned 12.
She's my baby sister. I don't want her to grow up.
wat
You can't go to LA and eat at those places and not eat at our places.
We have some of the best food in the US... literally.
Noooooo.

How can you travel to someplace in your country and only eat at nationwide chains?
Is the "Chinese" one mandarin I guess? If any of you would like to learn Cantonese, I found a really good audio dictionary on the Play Store for $12, called Hanping Cantonese. It has regular words, common idioms, clear audio, handwriting recognition, etc. Been super useful so far.
Grown-ups play Bloodborne.
I don't know what the hell I'm doing in that game.
Wife just said:
The blood will attract bad spirits which will bring bad luck to the family.

Oh yeah thanks for the link. My fiancé has been wanting to learn for a while so she isn't out of the loop when I talk to the fam. I had been meaning to get some pimsleur audio lessons for her but this seems a lot better since its interactive.

Oh thank you so much. I've been looking for something like this for a while now, since I want to brush up on my Cantonese.
In other news, I'm really disappointed in a friend of mine. I helped her out with rent a few months ago and now she's completely AWOL. I mean, I know she's been online and seen my emails but... yeah. I couldn't care less about the money -- and I would do it again for any friend in need -- but I'm just dismayed and disappointed with her.
This is why I have trust issues, alluding to a previous post of mine

You're welcome, and sorry about that, man. Have you tried calling her, or does she not pick up? :/ I'm glad you're not cynical over this, but that really sucks. I had to borrow money from my sister to pay a month's rent once, but I paid her back once I got the money. It's stressful when money's tight, but at the same time it sucks that she doesn't want to face you.
Same. Money is a serious subject and whatever I loan out, I never expect to get it back. People are just toxic like that.
Basically everything. I was walking around on the street, and then that huge dudebro with the giant cleaver killed me. That was one of many deaths, and I don't know how to actually get back to the Hunter's Deam while retaining blood echoes or how to level up or anything. Are you having trouble adjusting to the game in terms of mechanics, or that there's not enough guidance on where to go next, or the plot?
Yeah, I never expect to get the money I loan out back. Money's not exactly tight on my part, but... I guess I just have this implicit expectation of people being decent, that's all.
She did end up replying but only after a direct and specific question. Her answer was so short that I'm honestly wondering what I should do with this whole situation in the near future. I mean, I want to let this go with some amount of decency and respect towards her but I have no idea on how to approach it... because I still have to give her the benefit of the doubt that she has no idea of what is actually happening or doing.
She does admit to her own flaws; it's just a matter of whether I can live with that if we're going to be friends.
I'm no counselor, but I'll give my opinion that this particular person is very dodgy with answers.
It could be something embarassing, but I hope you eventually get to have a face-to-face to talk like mature adults. It's a difficult subject to approach, but I hope your situation improves for the better.
I'm going back to China for 2 week tomorrow. I'm very nervous and excited. I'm gonna be in Guangzhou. What might suck is that I just found out the relative I'm staying with doesn't have internet!!! How am I going to keep up with GAF and my friends back in New York?

More importantly, how are you going to link us pictures of food?

Reporting live from China. Already broke through their firewall. Screw you Chinese government. I don't know if GAF is blocked or not, but I have my VPN cause I need to update my Facebook and Twitter.

I almost want to dye my hair dark blue, but I'm not sure it'll look good or subtle on my type of hair. I feel like a blacker hair color would pull it off better.
I'm on a tablet so uploading pictures is a little tough. I tested gaff without proxy and it is blocked. Hey Evilord, what did you do to puss off the Chinese government?
I always thought it was as East/Southeast Asian thing. My hair has gotten brownish at times to when I've been in the sun. Same goes for many members of my family and random Hmong people that I see. Sometimes I'll ask if they dye their hair and besides the obvious ones, they always say no and that it got brownish from being in the sun.
So the bf and I were finishing up dinner (A+A in Austin, great place), and I was telling him that I wanted to try one of those skillet dishes one of these days. Of course right after I said that, a server walked by with one of them.
The problem is we have no idea which dishes those are. I know some places have "sizzling" dishes, but I couldn't find it on the menu here. Is there some other name they're known by?
Question time, Asian-GAF.
Do any of y'all have light black hair that turns brown (or some other color) when there's any type of light?
This is my hair on my partner's hair, next to a normal lamp. Neither of us dye our hair.
Is this really common? We're both Chinese/Taiwanese, too, so it's not like we're really genetically that different.
I always thought of Asians as having pretty much all black hair unless we were mixed, but I'm 99.999999% sure neither him not I are mixed.
