It's the most logical explanation if it was truly a misinterpretation on Variety's part, and we don't know if that's really what's happening here.
Good news...has potential.
Consult with James Cameron and film it at the same speed as Avatar 2 & 3. Either 48 or 60 frames per second.
Well, if Ubisoft has as much creative control as this implies, they aren't going to remove the Animus conceit, are they.
Btw. that's somehow my biggest concern. I think every videogame company sanctioned movie turned out horrible. Just think of stuff like Dawn of the seeker by bioware, or halo legendsWell, if Ubisoft has as much creative control as this implies, they aren't going to remove the Animus conceit, are they.
It's gonna depend on the director and the screenplay. Chances are high this will still be awful, just like every video game adaptation ever made.
Why not post a picture of the guy in the OP?
Safe search offcuz there's google images. anyway, wish granted.
There was talks of Splinter Cell movie a few weeks back as well. It'll be very interesting to see how this pans out.
Quick, someone 'shop fassbender in ezio/altair attire.
He doesn't look Middle Eastern, nor Italian or half Native American. He doesn't look like anything that has ever been an Assassin's Creed main character. This is awesome news.
And ruin it?

I honestly don't see it but then they were going to choose Mark Walburg to play Nathan Drake so, I give up at this point. Star Cookie Monster as the next Superman for all I care.
Oh yeah, and Prince of "Persia" LOL!
WTFDog?
Penis
For all we know it might be set in WWII and feature futuristic alien technology and a talking dog. I really wouldn't be surprised. Actually this is honestly what I am expecting. I have zero faith in Hollywood anymore. The main character might not be Altair, Ezio, or Connor.
Will end up sucking like every other movie game.
Fuck me I'm totally on board for this Now just get Alfonso Cuaron up in this bitch to [write and] direct.

It can't be any worse than Prince of Persia...can it?
