I recall many Japanese people speaking up about it. It could be that in view of all the other criticism they received for Shadows, they decided to 'err on the site of caution' and remove the figurine. As well, everyone is free to have their own opinion on it, but I think they made the right choice. Not only did the One-legged Torii Gate not exist during the time period Shadows is set in - its historical and cultural importance to the Japanese people doesn't lend itself to a figurine for a game.

That's true. I don't know where it falls on the scale of "tacky"<--->"what the absolute fuck" for japanese people.

Many things were destroyed via WWII, that doesn't mean every fucking object regardless of time frame shown in a video game is referencing that to force this level of fake outrage.

Call Of Duty adds AR-15. "Wow, just...WOW, tone deaf, insensitive, who do they think they are and this soon after (insert any fucking shooting) " - Some snowflake probably. lol

I think it makes sense to be concerned and for them to change it, WITHING LOGICAL REASON, not this wild anything goes, the object exist, it must mean xyz. If it not being whole is an issue, let that be the reason they are changing as its their choice, but this weird reaching seems forced, one can do this about almost any object, lets at least make sure within the context of the game that is even what they are referring to, as I didn't know WWII took place in 1500s

I am torn between my desire to tell snowflakes to chill out because not everything needs to be taken as an offensive action/behavior, and my nearly overwhelming desire to dogpile on Ubisoft because they're an absolutely retarded company run by mentally deranged lunatics.

All these PR moves and excuses Ubisoft is trying, i don't see working at all, Shadows won't do Valhalla numbers in sales or anywhere near.
