Like most I've been on the lookout for Series X footage. This is mostly intro cutscenes but user controled "Gameplay" starts at 14:27




Good to see some XBSX next gen gameplay regardless imo

I think that animation should be better. Especially when climbing animation looks that natural but with running it's stiff as fuck. And I realised, that I care about animation way more then abou graphics. It has to be tight.

Nice, good to see how the game starts. Can't wait to play this.

Biggest eye sore however was the walking animation its dark soul kind of bad on other gameplay video's it looks better.

It's 100% the One X version in BC mode, though I'm not sure how much better the Series X version will look. AC hasn't looked amazing since Unity IMO.

That said, this YT video is only 1080p so that doesn't help.

Looks quite underwhelming.
I dont see it looking any better than Odyssey (which IMO looked worse than Origins and Unity).
I can see some screen tearing too.

looks like unity is still the most advanced AC to date. maybe we'll see a true next gen experience in the next one when they ditch current gen

That doesn't make any sense. It's running at 60fps, if it was the Xbone version it would be 30.
I think it looks good for an open-world 60fps game. I'd rather have 60 than better models but that's just prefernce.

There is no next-gen patch. There is a full on proper next-gen version of the game targeting 60. This is what that is.

Again, it could be a performance mode or dynamic frame rate scaling, the resolution of the video is 1080p so it's hard to tell.

In fact, several One X games ran at 1080p/60fps as default, like Final Fantasy XII, for example.

AC Valhalla doesn't have an unlocked mode on One X or One. Just like every single previous AC.
I'm no dev but I urge everyone to screencap this post.
This is the Series X version running and I love it because I'm looking forward to 60fps on PS5 too.
But sorry this is not the One X version.

Patches get pushed out early to review hardware all the time. Considering they have gone out of their way to say next gen is 60 FPS and current is 30, I dont think its fair to automatically assume its XOX with some kind of performance mode. This very well could be XSX code.
 
A next gen patch won't fix the animations, clunky movement & pretty dreadful character models + geometry in the game world.

Hard pass, Ubisoft is getting worse with each release. And what's with the totally unfeminine "female" character who walks & runs like John Rambo? This androgynous sexless genderless shit is getting weirder & weirder with each game.

Mate this is expected. Even an RTX 2080 is not gonna run it at 4K60 locked with absolute highest settings (probably).
This is all because of completely wrong expectations.
I'm completely fine with this because I know how the new ACs run on high-end PCs.

Origins really was the peak of the rebooted AC games.

I'd rather go back and finish that. This looks garbage.

Didn't WD Legion has raytracing in the gameplay footage on serie X? How can be the just one X version played in BC mode?
 
This looks so bad and Im not talking wholly about the graphics either. Father and mother killed in front of MC and he just whispers a bored "no".

This game looks ugly not because this gen or next gen or whatever gen. It would look just as clunky on a 3090.

It looks ugly because Ubi's tools are old and decrepit and their engines are bad. Plus these games get cooked in roughly the same time as McDonalds hamburger, so what do you expect.
