Finished the worm stage last night (World 2) and then some shit happened on the galaxy map and I followed a trail of something to ANOTHER secret mini level popping up. The surprises don't end huh?

Slow rollin this like a motherfudger

Got to admit, I laughed more than I probably should at the level names ‘Wormy Passage’ and ‘Trunk of Funk’.

Double entendre is fun.

For those who got Platinum: What was your last trophy before getting it?

Mine was the dolphin ring one.

Astro bot is a great game, i don't like horizon. Its fine to have that opinion FFS.

Of course it’s fine to have different opinions of two vastly different games. But when you say dumb stuff like one out of the ~80 levels in the game spoiled the game for you because you didn’t like the source, you deserve every ounce of shit that gets thrown at you. Instead you just keep doubling down, hilariously.

The only person detailing this thread has been you with your irrational Horizon hate. It was a single level that you never have to play again.

Here, have some tunes to clear your mind:

The golden bot because you need all 300 bots and all puzzle pieces before you can even start the great master challenge, by that point you should have naturally unlocked pretty much everything else or done clean up runs to get them.

I had a selection of crash site and game-themed level trophies for the final clean up.

I chose the remaining Precursor Orbs as my finale.

The Master level was all I had to do to get the Plat

To the person(s) who created the splashing sprint and to the beat levels, may you forever step on Lego. Completed splashing sprint, while trying to the beat another day. This is flipping harder than bloodborne.
Oh yeah, crazy levels for sure. I have beaten all shape levels and now working on the master one.

Man just leave him alone, he probably feeds off of the negative attention

It's ridiculously difficult. I'm glad that I made it, but yeah I'm not touching that Lvl again anytime soon. I'm stuck at Splashing Sprints now 😞
I died in it sooo many times but got the hang of it... it is what sort of trained me for the master level, but I had trouble beating that too.

I heard bad things about this stage and it almost got me to break my controller but got it and funny enough it took me less then 10 times.

That’s the one I left for the end but now I’m struggling with the Master Challenge which is supposed to be the final final final level.

Hardest Levels:

1. Splashing Sprint
2. Great Master Challenge
3. To the Beat
4. Triangle Armadillo Challenge

These are Gaius level.

Rest of the Challenge levels are Midra level at most.

The master challenge is the easier of the two. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I expected and I suck at platformers.

You’re gonna love (note the sarcasm) the last segment of the Great Master Challenge. 😆

I just did that level tonight. It wasnt too bad. Those birds are a pain in the ass lol but for the 2nd set you can fly off to the right and avoid the hard one and then land on the trampoline. The random bird on the right side off the level clues you in on it too

I'll be honest I liked the "demo" version that came with the PS5 better. The music is much better (seriously gpu and cpu songs), the stages are less repetitive. Why did they have to give away the world bosses on the constellations? The animal bosses are meh, it should have been enemies from other PlayStation games.

Holy 🧢, I know opinions but there's no way people think the tech demo was better 😬

I gotta say... I agree with him.
it feels like Astro's Playroom was more imaginative and varied. which could be down to tue fact that is only about 1/6 the length. but it felt like Astro Bot didn't add much to the concept, it just spread it out over way more levels.

I also felt the Dualsense was underutilized compared to Playroom. it was a genius use of the Triggers for example to have brittle climbing spots where you had to feel the breaking point and be careful not to fall down by pressing too hard.
it's stuff like that that I was hoping to get more of, but in fact there was less of it in Astro Bot than in Astro's Playroom. I can't think of a single thing that playroom did that necessitates a Dualsense instead of even a Dualshock 3 for example. maybe the 2 points in the game where you need to blow into the mic? that's about it.

So, for what each games tried to be, Astro's Playroom was the more successful game in delivering that in my opinion.

I agree. Astro Bot took Playroom to an entirely new level. Astro Bot isn't a tech demo to demonstrate new hardware. It is a full-fledged game that stands on its own and excels.

Some strange takes in here.
Also the movement. ASTRO BOT feels snappier and faster, I think due to the updated animations. He also can now climb ladders or grab ledges when he misses jumps, which wasn't possible in playroom. I mean c'mon I mean opinions but yeah certainly wild takes indeed

I only wish Astro Bot had a level with the machine gun from Playroom.

Finally completed everything. "Splashing sprint" was the hardest level in the game. Would rate "master challenge" as the second most( the fucming birds ruined a lot of runs) with "to the beat" a close third.

The best level was easily the casino one for me. Just pure fun. With the second galaxy being the best galaxy.

Was probably killed the most by slimes with the electric bastards in second.

As final thoughts, astrobot is really fun. It just oozes charm in every moment. The smoothness and sheer number of animations honestly adds a lot to the appeal of the game. The platforming is tight and controls responsive. If you die, it is most probably your own fault. The diversity in levels and the creativeness in display is something special. The boss fights were also fun. Everything you do in the game is fun. Every collecting collectibles is fun because of the nostalgia. The game seems to treat everything you do as something special. It celebrates you and makes you feel special. It is like a toy box, everything gets alive and starts doing stuff only when you are there to interact with it. The various gadgets add to that feeling.

It's probably my game of the year. An easy 9/10. Would really recommend it to anyone who has a ps5. If you want a fun game without any nonsense, this is it.

You may have beaten it already but if not, keep at it, you'll get it. I felt the same when I unlocked the master challenge. I don't know how many times I tried... but I got it in the end.

I promise I’ll do it tonight. And will post the video, god help me.
I kinda wish i recorded my run haha. I beat the level by learning it in portions. I am sure you've probably learned the first half of the level.... anyway, good luck! This game is also my first platinum, just couldn't stop playing.
