Realistically, worked-shoot promos like last night end up hurting both people because the last thing you want to do if you're trying to push both guys as top babyfaces is say on live TV in front of everyone what mostly everyone is already thinking.

Cena isn't hurt with this only because it's what everyone in all of his programs for the past 5 years have already been saying.

Reigns is hurt by it because it's the first time someone's said it to his face and he had no retort whatsoever. Cena flat out called him a failure and he just stood there and took it.

I'll say this in Roman's defense. If he's really just a meta-heel, which he's basically been acting like since the build up to the UT match at Mania, then that promo accomplished its goal of making me hate him more.

The real problem is that we know that Vince still wants him to be a conquering hero.
