He had a neck issue that caused him to have a serious injury when he took a finisher from Samoa Joe. Nothing Joe did, just a buildup of an issue that caused that bump to be the one, so to speak. He had to have surgery. Only 5% of people who have his injury survive, and an even smaller portion are able to walk afterwards. He'll make a full recovery, but he's lucky.
