It must be a very odd coincidence then that private schools with lots of funding dominate the top University admission rankings in each state. Is it that they want it more? Or might it be that a proper education is easily bought?

Eh, do they? For NSW isn't it mostly selective schools with the top HSC results?

Also my school seemed super poor compared to Sydney Girls which was right next to us :-/

Must be because my school spent all the money on sports while the girl's school got new TVs for every room.

I just had the strangest sex dream that ended in my mystical minotaur gaurdian coming down from the heavens and giving me head to celebrate that i'd cleaned my room. I guess she thought I did a good job.

I don't know about you guys, but I tend to do stuff in sex dreams that I wake up feeling really guilty about. I've never woken up from those dreams feeling anything remotely like a boss at all.

Yep, there's idiots in cars and on bikes. Because some people are just idiots.

I used to commute on my bike (can't these days thanks to the incredible sprawl that is Melbourne it'd take me over an hour to ride in now). Part of the ride took me along one of the busiest bike lanes in the city - St Kilda Rd.

Even bike lanes can't save us from the idiots. Had one guy open his door on me when I was in the bike lane. Took the pedal off my bike, luckily not my foot as well. Went ass over handlebar.

And the number of times some idiot just walked out between some cars into the bike lane. Fortunately you can see them coming and yell some choice abuse.

Yeah, there are a crapload of stupid, ignorant, selfish brivers out there, too.

And a big hells no to riding a bike in Melbourne. I don't want to have to look out for trams as well.

She was the victim of one particular incident recently and the parents tried to pin it on her instead of admitting their child might, shockingly, have done something wrong. Luckily the school is a good one and didn't back down to the parents demands.

That's because my child would never have done anything wrong. It must have been her fault. Must have.

And I'm very sorry to hear that, Mar. Teachers don't get enough respect.

I wasn't allowed near the school computers because I "wasn't smart enough to use them properly."

Mt computer teacher almost banned me from using the computers. Because I had my high-and-mighty Vic20 knowledge I spent the time that she was teaching the rest of the class basics to type up higher-than-basic-but-not-really-advance conversation tree programs. I almost broke her by doing a 10 PRINT "HELLO" 20 GO TO 10 and letting it run. I don't know why but the constant stream of HELLO really go to her.

I love biology, in fact im not really sure why i didn't pursue that further.

Me, too. I aced that class without even trying. My favourite subject.

The biology teacher at my old school was a toucher. She'd always be rubbing your shoulder or her hand would slip and fall onto your knee. She also had a tendency to wear revealing, tight-fitting clothes and insert innuendo every second sentence.

Interest piqued...

Interest gone.

I want to read the bible, it seems fascinating.

When I got my Kindle it was one of the first free books I downloaded for it. It's especially awesome because you can search it, meaning if you can annoy friends with relevant quotes for any conversation.

What's your beef with that?

Lastly, I'm not sure if this will stir up a hornet's nest, but:

I watched Inception over the weekend and... eh. Didn't hate it but it didn't oh-my-gosh-my-mind-has-been-blown-film-of-the-forever.

Page 147 of the second run of AusGAF has Leigh Sales and sex dream talk.

I think I'm really gonna like page 147.

lol reminds me of one of the text books we used for Modern History, on page 67 there was a picture of guys during the war washing eachother down in a lake (wangs visible!) and it became a great joke. when ever some one got asked to read and they weren't paying attention and didn't know what page they were on we'd whisper 67, and they'd turn to it and BAM.

The next few weeks are gonna suck. 4 DS games will arrive in the mail, but there'll be no 3DS to play them on till the end of the month.

I remember one year I was channel surfing AM radio and came upon a recording of an interview with an ex Aussie POW. Dude was talking about how they used to get down with the man love in the Japanese POW camps. They didn't teach us that in History :(

Little Big Planet 2 - good.

Sengoku Basara - bad, very bad.

I was in the Dynasty Warriors thread during a lecture today, dunno why. I almost wanted to try a crowd fighting game since this little community had such a passion for them and were so into liking them, rest of the world be damned.

But now you've killed that desire :D

As someone who has never played any of those 'crowd fighting games', as Aon just put it , I am very curious to try one out. I wonder if that 3DS Samurai Warriors (?) is the same as all the others?

Oh, and as a history nerd myself, I happen to like most of it (Ancient, Modern Medieval), except for Industrial Revolution era...ZzzZz

The Industrial Revolution is so damn good.

Or at least I enjoy the Steampunk aesthetic. That's the same thing, right?

Australia! Never give up Australia! Sure it's worth jack shit but it's so nauseatingly easy to defend! Especially if you already have a foothold in Asia.

Also Greenland. If you reinforce that enough you can hit either of the main continents and deny bonuses!

I.. am too excited about risk.

look out for me, I'll be the tall white idiot haha.
I wash my hands before most meals anyway, will be extra diligent overseas.
Yeah just thought I'd give you a heads up because the flu there has been pretty bad recently, not to mention the many cases of avian and swine flu this winter. But yeah, now that I think about it, strong aussie blokes should be fine:)

Also, I'll be the average height asian guy in HK so be on the lookout for me as well!

I'm watching a Louis Theroux doco on male porn stars. I'm addicted to his shows :/

I have those waiting for me. I have a stack of anime to finish, and season 5 of the Wire. The Louis, possibly to keep me going on some plane flights if there are no good films.

Yeah...the Steampunk aesthetic really is quite fascinating. Unfortunately listening to 2 hour lectures about how factories and steam engines and trains rose up is not so exciting.

Huh.

I don't see anything interesting in the immediate future for consoles, and I have an almighty stack of games to trade in. Irritating situation.

My favourite Dynasty Warriors will always be no 4. That game was so great.
With dynasty warriors - one game was all you needed. I always felt it was a well-executed formula for what it is, for a beat-em up they sure packed in a lot of addictive content and characters, as well as lots of enemies on the screen to beat up!

I've still yet to buy a DW game in this gen. (including sengoku basara and DW : gundam) although i always want to..
