Doing a poll on the 3DS price for Australia, would welcome people to vote.

I know probably gonna get some BS responses but whatever.

(America, we’re basically 1:1 so you don’t have to calculate anything).:lol

voted 250 - 300, at that price point i'd happily walk into a store go "oh they have them in!" withdraw the money and bam.

higher than that I might go home think about it and come back tomorrow having done some research on the cheapest place / places with deals + good games

So against my better judgement I'm gonna pre-order Vanquish from EB so I can get the Tri Weapon pack. Fuck you, corporate machine, for making us play your marketing game...

DLC should stand for 'Divisive Limited Content'.

But what about that thing you said before? I thought we weren't going to buy any more games? *sniff*

So tempted to buy Dead Rising 2, but you know I'm actually having a shitload of fun with Red Faction: Guerrilla on PC. Shame the performance is REALLY bizarre (jerky, but a weird kind of jerk) but the game itself is fun as all hell.

Vanquish was a day one perch a long time ago! Plus I finished Enslaved and have my gaming for the rest of the year pretty much sorted out.

I voted, but you should've have a $300 - $350 bracket as well. I'd pay $350, but I wouldn't be happy about it. At $300, consider it bought.

What's your setup? Did you turn off SSAO? I think that's the thing that makes it janky. I can't remember though, maybe one of the other PC guys will.

According to PCCG my card isn't faulty. Yay $25. If it turns out it still is locking up my system, I'm gonna take my entire system with my 7600GT as well to them and show them it locks up and demand my money back.

If it turns out I was otherwise wrong, I'll just leave it and take the $25. hahaaaa. Still kinda bs I have to pay $25, but anyway.

Eh? Did you explain to them that when the card is in it locks up but with another card it's perfectly fine? It has to be the card. Can't you just say you want to switch it over for another 460 that isn't shit or something?

Voted the feed it to my veins option.

The things is, when you ask people these questions they generally say something is too expensive.

I have no problem paying whatever they ask. Because I'm a straight up sucker.

So my TV finally got delivered yesterday. I should probably leave it boxed up until I move, but I'm totally thinking about cracking it open on the weekend >_>

I actually had a look in the settings and it looked like there was only really basic options for graphics, even when I went into "Advanced". Most advanced options were "Anti-aliasing" and "Motion blur" :lol (I suspect I'm not looking hard enough)

Something needs to be looked into further with my PC anyway... I did have RFG working fine for a day or so but it's gone back to shit again. Maybe I'll roll back the Catalyst drivers :/

Neato- just went and pre-ordered. One of the many benefits of working directly across from a JB Hifi.

Other benefits include:
a) watching jaywalkers stare down the face of death by swarming across Adelaide Street en masse.
b) watching the same fat kid play Guitar Hero on expert like a champ at the demo booth, every damn day.
c) Finding out JB stock the complete DVD set of Monkey for $90.

Really tempted to pick up Monkey, coming off the back of finishing Enslaved.

The one thing which worries me if NAL pulls this shit with the 3DS services.

I never thought about this. Say it isn't so, NAL!

Also, would 3D content be larger than standard content, or just the same?

Which is why you should import from the US.
That is sounding increasingly sensible by the day, yet I haven't had the chance to get caught up in the giddy sugar rush of a system launch since I lined up on a December midnight for the Wii's launch in 2006.

Opening a parcel in the post doesn't quite hold the same buzz.

I love album reminder. I had no idea Angra had a new album coming out and they do. Saves me trying to search and remember about bands i enjoy for new album releases.

How much are you going to spend on hardware next gen, VOOK? How much have you spent this gen?

Opening up the parcel I got my Wii in was awesome because my cousins were over and they ooh'd and aah'd all around me. Opening up parcels in front of my girlfriend is also fun, because I don't usually tell her what's inside.

I received my launch US Xbox 360 in the mail, same with my original PS3. My Wii was the only one I bought and to be quite honest the only ones I was excited about was PS3 and Xbox 360, I've never been so excited to go to the Post Office.

The Wii launch was great though, probably one of the most fun days I've had with my mates, I think it came out the same day that Casino Royale came out, cos I vaguely remember getting the Wii in the morning, having about 12 people over and just playing it heaps, then going to see Casino Royale.

So for reasons other than the Wii itself, I enjoyed the Wii launch.

So many conflicting memories. >_>

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.

So far I've bought 2 Wii's, 5 Nintendo DS's, a PS3, 3 Xbox 360s', a PSP and at least two different gaming PC in the space of that time.

Doomed.

Mark nice article on second hand games it is a shame you did not explore why gamers do it and the sometimes over looked benefits by publishers such as jimmy can get xxxx day one due to store credit from trades so there is a sale

The other point to raise is what the fuck makes video games as a medium so different

You can resell books music and movies easily so why the fuck are games so special this is what game devs do not get

Also the fact that publishers continuosly forget that when you fucking pay for something you have the right to sell it

You own the licence (not software as a whole) and therefore u should be able to resell it

Video games think they are special and they are fucking not

Issue is partly that video game makers think of themselves as software developers. Non-game software licenses typically aren't resellable. Thing is, video games aren't a software industry. They're an entertainment industry.

Apparently they can't unless it's deemed to be faulty. And even then they need to send it to Gigabyte, who will also test it. When I get it back, if it fucks up again I'm gonna either do a Youtube video of me putting the thing in and watching it freeze at the welcome screen over and over or just take my entire system to them and show them.

I remember the eb I went to for the wii launch had a mini smash bros tournament. I think the prize was a nunchuck or something.

They had a Melee tournament for the Gamecube launch, I did okay but can't remember the prize. It was okay though as I got to flirt with a cute Peach cosplayer.

Looks like I won't be swimming to work tomorrow! :)

Southside > Northside

So I bought a PC last week. The power supply was busted, then the CPU was busted, and then they replaced it with a PC that works. So that was nice.

Anyway, my plan was to put it in my home office and use it just as a machine to draw comics with
that nobody reads
. That room is on the opposite side of where my router is so I got a Netgear WG111V3 PCI card to connect to my wifi...but no luck. It can see the network, but it just doesn't connect. I've never head a problem with my old laptop / netbook / wireless printer / etc connecting to the wifi from that room. Any ideas?

Maybe I should use this as a sign - if I don't have the internet on that machine, there's no chance I'll get distracted while drawing comics
that nobody reads
:)

You'd have a password for that wireless network right? And a specific wireless protocol?
I read your comics

Any suggestions for what to do with my old PC? It's functional, apart from the power supply making retarded fan noises but it's quite out of date for gaming (some AMD dual core, 4gb of DDR2, ATi x1950pro). I don't really want to just throw it away but I have no need for it now.

I built my new PC to deal with everything, don't really want to run a second PC just for the sake of it. More looking for solutions that make it go away (not to the dump).

Sell it on OCAU. Should have no trouble moving it.

What would it be worth? Also I don't even think I have an account on OCAU.

You have to be a member for 3 months and have a certain number of posts before you can use the buy and sell forum, fyi. I joined to sell my old camera then never visited again after I made that discovery.

when is GT5 delayed until? Also, of course it is.

Don't really know, maybe $2-300 or so. Depends on the specific components I guess. Run speccy on it and cookie or I could get a price check. If you don't have an OCAU account though, it might make it tricky to use them specifically.
