Ordered overwatch and Uncharted 4. Hold all my calls.
In fact, here is my number 0754678543236. Call it so I can hold my calls.

These are the 2 games I'm juggling at the moment. Overwatch is fantastic because it's the kind of game you can play for either 10 minutes or a few hours. Uncharted 4 is more Uncharted, it's not incredible but it's pretty fun. Doesn't feel like the huge leap 2 and 3 were.

Just how I feel about Doom and Overwatch ATM. Doom is hot, Overwatch I can get a little sick of but there's always a party going for it, SoIGotThatGoingForMeWhichIsNice.gif

Got Dr Mario amiibo, Codename Steam 3DS and Inazuma Eleven Go Shadow 3DS for $29. Left before I made any further mistakes with my life.

Big interview tomorrow. On the one hand, I'm confident because this job is perfect. I could walk into it and be effective as soon as I found out who to sweet talk to get stationery and where to go to get decent coffee. On the other hand, I'm nervous because I need to be able to get that across via a Skype call.

If history is any judge though, my main job is to make the hiring manager like me.

In other news, Squirrel Jr has a cold. He came home from daycare today looking absolutely miserable. It'll be a day spent with Grandma tomorrow for him, I'm afraid.

Grabbed a Fenix 3 red strap yesterday as part of October Triathlon training.

Just sitting playing with the settings and updating etc...beginning to wonder if I should have splurged the extra $150 for the Fenix3 HR version.

I can't even hold all these games. I'm playing through FFX/X-2 atm but Stellaris calls, I've just bought TW: Warhammer and Salt & Sanctuary, Witcher 3 Blood & wine came out, a new path of exile league starts on friday, I want to purchase DOOM and I have a few friends trying to get me on the Overwatch train.

I just want to disappear from society for a few months.

Finished my interview for the Canberra job. I don't know what to think, honestly. There was no HR person there to ask all the touchy feely questions, so it was a 90 minute grilling about technical processes over a teleconference link.

I think I did okay, but the questions were quite broad.

Luckily though, I ran into a friend from uni about an hour before I went in, not knowing that he worked for the company I was interviewing for. We had a catch up over lunch and it all came out.

He gave me a lot of context for the company, which was nice, and happened to know the hiring manager. He even sent him an unsolicited email recommending me on my behalf.

I only found out about that later.

Sounds like it went well. Also the email would certainly have improved your chances, no one likes to hire an unknown quantity.

That sounds very serendipitous to me! Hopefully everything comes up Squirrel!

Hey Ausgaf, you're good with computers right? Does anyone have any ideas about how to transport a desktop computer to Japan? A lot of what's on google just says sell everything / take it all apart and put it back together overseas, both of which don't really work for me.

I was thinking of taking out the hard drive and either shipping the rest in a box or trying to bring it on the flight either and check in or carry on. Does that sound feasible? Has anyone had experience transporting their PC overseas/ interstate ?

EDIT: Happy Birthday VKS :D Everything's coming up Milhouse.

I shipped a 27" Imac from the US to Aus a few years ago. I just put it in the original shipping box and it arrived fine but it was not remotely cheap to do so. That's also the main reason I'll be replacing it with a MBP now I'm in the UK.

For a standard tower PC, I'd take the HDD and maybe GFX out and put those in padded boxes. perhaps stuff some packing material in it. Though, you are probably better off sticking the HDD in a new PC, maybe taking only the most valuable bits like a fancy GFX card. Shipping tends to be based on both weight and volume, two things most desktop PC's are not good with.

i bought my little mini box here and i'm going to have a HELL of a time shipping it back. It is a mini PC case though and will probably fit in a luggage pack.

...but I'm probably going to box it home after removing the hdd

I really need to stop buying unnecessary crap cos if I need to return to Australia it's already looking like a real pain in the butt!

When I moved from US back to Aus, I dropped a grand to ship back 2 guitars, the aforementioned imac and a big box full of dvds, consoles, clothes and games (4 separate boxes). Customs charged me for the guitars on top of that.

Thanks for the advice :) This one was only recently built, so I'm not really keen on selling it off or anything. Unfortunately I don't have the original shipping box anymore, so I thought I might wrap it in padding and put it into another box. But yeah, it's not looking terribly cheap ><

How big is the tower?

It's 232 x 462 x 531mm :)

you need to take a selfie when you read the quote for shipping.

Finding a box or padding shouldn't be too hard. Shop around for prices before you commit. Is there something like a Pack and Send where you are? You might get lucky with the shipping price.

Speaking of shipping guitars overseas, I've still got 2 bass guitars back in Belgium, is there a specialised shipping company or just your average fedex?

Non gaming question for MelbourneGAF, Healesville Sanctuary or Ballarat Wildlife Park?

This weekend will be my last weekend in Melbourne so I wanna see some native wildlife up close before I go back to Canada.

Thanks in advance :)

While the Ballarat one is really great it's no match to the Healesville one. They've got "private moments" for which you can pay extra (price depends on animal), I did the wombat one last year and it was amazing.
