This high school nudes sharing scandal is fucking nuts.

Saw actual human adults on Facebook comments victim blaming for taking nudes and sharing them with people they mistakenly trusted

Dumb fucks. "It's child pornography to take a nude selfie and send it on to your partners!" Yeah you fucking derro consider that perhaps the law isn't omnipotent and contains the solution to all problems?
The trouble, at the end of the day is that these are kids. The girls send nude pictures to their boyfriends, official or prospective, in an effort to get them to like them. It's something that comes from an attempt to get approval. They don't think about the toxic incentives on the boys to use these pictures to brag and get respect from their peers. They don't think about how it leaking out might affect them in the future. They live in a world where their immediate social challenges are all encompassing - the law is an irrelevance.

That said, what scandal? I hadn't heard anything about it. Or have journalists rediscovered those same sites from last year.

Given a Steam Wallet voucher for my birthday to go towards F1 2016. Son of a fucking bitch isn't activated, and my sister who bought it for me thinks the receipt is at her work. And she's away this weekend.

Motherfuck.

Waiting on a new phone, tossing up between galaxy s7 and Nexus 6p, but probably should wait until the new Nexus revision gets announced so the price drops eh?

Yeah. Unless you really need a new phone before october or find a really good sale on the 6p.

but ever so delicious
How does it feel to be so wrong? (The music is good too though)

I don't like video games, well not many anyway and people around here know that.

Doom started off well but then turned into a bullet sponge enemy fest of bullshittery. The story and characters were pointless, the levels were ok, combat was fine for the most part.

It was an ok experience, but i didn't love it like everyone else.

In the grand tradition of when ever this situation comes up and since it seems that no one else has stepped up to the responsibility, today I will play the role of internet asshole:

"if u dont wanna be spoiled about anything stay off the innernet. turn off ur phone, dont go outside, blindfold urself and put in earplugs. u only have urself to blame mate."

You're welcome.

Well I would have said dont be surprised when spoiled if you are watching old stuff. Especially given we have no statute of limitations on spoilers.

Also...use ad blockers.

I get both points, and I do use ad block.

We're talking a tv show with 40 or so episodes of which I've watched half. So the spoiler has only happened in the last two years.

I mean sure it comes with times but the post in question had no need to be so blatant.

I was being facetious. I was just being the asshole internet reaction. It's usually used by people that don't really care about other people, especially after they've had their enjoyment of a media. i.e. the same person that says "i was really shocked when X did X. It was so shocking and enjoyable. This is such a good show and everyone should be enjoying it" turn around after and say - after someone says "that for spoiling that, jerk" - with my aforementioned "it's your own fault."

Especially on gaf. People will quite happily spoiler tag information pertaining to the forum topic but then spoil a whole range of other topics... and then say "why the fuck are you on the internet if you didn't want to get spoiled?"

Yeah it's a tricky situation. I'm usually pretty wary when talking about shows like Game of Thrones etc, although with that one the onus is on the viewer cause of the sheer amount of people who are watching it as it comes out.

Yeah. I've had to very careful with that as I dropped the show so I can read the next book unsullied. Especially bad given unrelated, like tech blogs, have gone right into to talking about got. So its not just the obvious blogs I've had to be careful of.

That said, I think growing up in a time before media had worldwide simultaneous releases but still being on the internet discussing media had an impact on my expectations re spoilers.

Don't know much about Sydney but looks like a pretty convenient spot for heading up the central coast on weekends. Pretty sure if you can afford to buy within 30km of Sydney you should probably go ahead and do it because pretty sure the demand will always be there.

Thoughts on living in Thornleigh, Sydney?

Looking at buying a house there...

Pennant Hills Road is one of the worst roads in Sydney and living there you'll have to deal with it regularly. NorthConnex is supposed to be done by 2019 though and it will be a lot better then once the trucks are off it.

Oh I forgot about Pennant Hills Road. Ugh.

On the other hand, you're close to Cherrybrook Village, which has a take away shop with the best hot chips with chicken salt ever.

Anyone know a good place to buy 3DS games? I'm having trouble finding Virtue's Last Reward ANYWHERE.

EDIT: lol completely forgot the eshop exists, and it's on sale for $20 no less!

Today I heard the games person at JB telling a customer that JB have less than 20 PS Vitas in stock across the entire country. Might be last chance to grab an AU one new folks!

What are the expectations for the new PS4? More than just 4k blu ray?

Well 4k Netflix and Amazon too.

I guess hopefully more stable 1080p framerates, at least on newer 1st party titles. And hopefully snappier UI. The speedbump might mean better performing apps too, like plex.

What I would have liked though was a faster HDD interface and USB-C. Am guessing I won't get that though. Ditto it being quieter at load.

Dolby Vision support that the Xbone-s lacks would be nice.

PS4 UI is pretty good isn't it? I prefer it to anything else current gen or last gen (or Steam but that goes without saying). Only weird annoying thing is the lack of a universal keyboard. Sometimes the keyboard is a good one, sometime it's a less useful one. Why can't it be the same good one every time?

Well I was mostly comparing to to things like the AppleTV 4, especially in things like app snappiness. For some reason for instance Plex runs like a dog on the PS4. I assume because Sony limits how much processor power apps can use.

The store interface I find pretty slow too. Though maybe thats PSN related.

True, the store kinda sucks. Speaking of keyboards, the search field for the store has the worst of them all. It's this huge linear thing where you have to scroll every letter to get to the one that you want. They keyboard that the base OS uses is a great controller based keyboard. Come on, just use that.

Amen. I don't think we're going to get it, but SATA III for the internal drive would've been a massive upgrade. Loading times are terrible on most console games these days.

The most annoying thing is that they don't support USB keyboard input on the store. For nearly everything else you can just plug in a USB keyboard and type away, but for the PlayStation Store not only did Sony give us a completely rooted 'keyboard', they also make sure that you can't use anything else.

It seems like Sony might be announcing a PS4 Slim at their September event, and it might be available to buy immediately. Something to bear in mind before pulling the trigger on a PS4 purchase in the next two and a half weeks...
Yeah that's why OG models are going cheap right now, retailers trying to clear them before the slim. Same happened with the OG Xbox One.

What are the expectations for the new PS4? More than just 4k blu ray?
Smaller, more power efficient. Not even sure if it will be 4K tbh.

EB have been sold out for a month or two now. Just quietly ran the stock out, no sale, just gone. :(

Another leak rumour was another PSP like device. Could very well just be a Vita 3000 model for Japan only though. Unless they do a dual boot Android device I can't see a handheld being a good idea in this day and age. They don't have the IP power required to gain that footing again.

Nah it's also power related, as the store got more and more fancy it started running slower and slower. Always, ALWAYS, use the webstore. Much snappier and much more organised.

I'll stick with my current PS4.

Plus I'm doing a new PC build next month.

I imagine I'll stick with mine till after Christmas and see what games with a 'neo mode' run like. Still need to buy a 4k set yet...I'd been waiting to see how the HDR wars shake out first.

Woah, wonder if they will order more in or call it quits.

I love my Vita :(

They're never going to bother. I checked out my local JB and asked to see their Vita shelf. It consisted of fewer than ten titles, plus a locked drawer where they had the memory cards. 8GB plus a bunch of minis / PSOne classics for $51.

It's Sony's fault this happened.

Yeah I don't own a 4K TV and don't really see a need to.

I assume 4K is inevitable eventually, unlike 3D, but I don't know the background on how it's being pushed behind the scenes.

All TV cameras will need to have the ability to output at 4K, this is likely to be an issue with sports as I remember the reason it took so long to even get HD was places dragging their feet on getting HD cameras to shoot the sport.

IMO it isn't as big a leap forward as DVD -> Blu Ray in quality, even that struggled to gain acceptance as a big selling point for the masses so can understand why it hasn't taken off even though 4K TV's are getting really cheap in the US (you can even get them for under $500 here too now).

Any good recommendations for a solid dishwasher & washing machine brand/model?
Thinking Bing Lee or Good Guys...
NOT the dishwasher my fiancee and I have in our current rental. D'something, I think. Obviously the cheapest option in a package deal on house and land packages, it's such a piece of shit.

Me too. It's a great machine for buying games digitally too, the library is enormous with all those PS1 & PSP games, and lots of great ports of indie titles in the $10-30 range. There are regularly great sales on the digital store too, you just need to get over the hurdle of paying for one of those expensive large memory cards and you're away.

I can't see them releasing a successor though, this is the end, my friend.
