I saw sleep makes waves backing up Boris last Saturday night at the Corner Hotel, they were solid. Strictly instrumental but the band had some great energy and some really cool songs.
I was thinking "hmm these guys would make great supports for 'Vool" when i was watching them... and bam, they are the supports, hahahah. I'm also going to the first melbourne Karnivool show, should be a good night.

Well, that wouldn't be particularly difficult as the 'combat' in 1 was pretty awful, lets be honest.
What was frustrating was them changing pretty much the entire keyboard configuration around for no real good reason.
Boning it immediately.
What Mass Effect has shown me the possibilities of is that you could maybe possibly build a awesome action-orientated gameplay system and then layer RPG-ness on top of that. I don't regard turn-based combat as necessary or even desirable to the RPG experience. My greatest dream is Bayonetta-esque combat with dialogue trees, characters that are awesome, a world I give a shit about, etc. It'd probably be a superhero game or something, I don't know.

RPG to me is about choice, largely you have fuck all choices in ME apart from the odd renegade/paragon dialgoue path. :/
Like even combat choices are super limited. Eh.

She was insanely obvious about it from the beginning, even with female characters (does that change things?). Funniest romance is trying to hit on Jacobs though. So awkward.

Mass Effect is a pretty straight forward experience. It is a cinematic experience with great little things that change. Nothing big, just enough to make it interesting.

Good to hear, was the only launch window game I was interested in outside of Ultimate Mahvel. Western release is a little after E3 so hopefully there'll be some substantial announcements there so I can finally jump on the Vita train.

Going to the Adelaide show myself and really looking forward to their new material. They played one new song on the last tour they did (The Refusal I think it was called). It was a great song, loud and plenty of energy, might be a taste of what the new album offers.

I didn't get that feeling at all, perhaps it was because I wasn't 100% paragon/renegade which actually prevents you from making a fair few key decisions.

What's this Hunger Games thing I'm seeing everywhere? Apart from it having a colossally stupid name (honestly, it sounds like a hotdog eating contest), is it tipped to be any good? Is it meant to be fantasy or sci fi?
Also, on the weekend, my cousins came over and spent a few hours trying (and eventually succeeding) in beating the boost ball guardian from Metroid Prime 2 for me. I've been stuck on it for more than a year, but they died enough times themselves that I don't feel like such a doofus.
