QUEENSLAND politicians will receive an eight per cent pay rise, taking their base salary to $148,848.
Queensland's independent remuneration tribunal made the determination on Tuesday and also tweaked the rules for allowances.
Chairman Tim Brailsford says Queensland MPs sit more and work longer hours than other jurisdictions and deserve the pay rise.
"Queensland MPs are amongst the lowest paid in the country," he said.

Just got mentioned on Triple J. I feel I'm more excited than what most would deem appropriate.
Was that for that segment you were interviewed for a while ago?
What are my chances of waltzing into a fine upstanding Australian retailer early January and picking up a PS4 off the shelf, if I am so inclined?

The pay rises themselves aren't bad, I think politicians should be paid well. It's just really galling in the context of the mass sackings in the public sector, and their refusal to negotiate wage rises for those remaining employees.
BrisGAF, if I have one day in Brisbane (10am-7pm), what are the touristy things to do in Brisbane?
Lexi, you dig the new Jezabels single? It sounds like their other stuff, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If they do an album tour, we should go see them.
I'm interested to hear what they are going to have for PS+ customers too.
I recently hit 100kg.
My gut looks like a fucking whale.
I can't even recognise myself in the mirror from the head down.
Work today reminded me why I get home and feel drained as fuck and all I want to do is eat yummy food and consume copious amounts of alcohol.
By the time I feel the motivation rise up to actually exercise or socialise it's 10pm. :/
Maybe now I'm done with GTA5 I will break out those damn Kinect fitness games and try to stay motivated until I can force myself to take up jogging again.

Also you better have a damn good Kickstarter video planned Gaz!
Yeah that's my issue lolI feel you. I have trained my body to think that relaxing / unwinding = eating nice stuff.
Nah only half an hour, need that for my GAF/bargain time! I start at 8am too so any exercise will have to wait until 6:30ish when the young lad goes down to sleep.Rep, how long is your lunch break? Can you fit a walk in there?
I know I know I know but alkeyhole makes me happy and relaxed! It's diet time, exercise is great and all but if you want to seriously lose weight you need to start eating a lot better and cut right down on the booze.
I concur with everything Stacky said. That area is a high concentration of things to do, so I'd say it's your best bet for the number of hours you have.BrisGAF, if I have one day in Brisbane (10am-7pm), what are the touristy things to do in Brisbane?
That's basically what you need to break. Not may people will go out for a run at 10pm for the same reason (It's 10pm, too late to run! Oh well, I'll just consume these chocolates because their expiration date is this monthWork today reminded me why I get home and feel drained as fuck and all I want to do is eat yummy food and consume copious amounts of alcohol.

You mean future offerings I guess? We already know what the first round of games are going to be. Basically half of Drive Club, and five indie games.
Southbank is nice, take a ride on the citycat, you get to see the sights of the city. The gallery of modern art is worth a visit and is right near Southbank. The city for shopping is just over the river, if that's your bag.
You could take the citycat down to the powerhouse as well, that's a nice setting for lunch. Newfarm park is pretty nice, good place for an afternoon nap.
After that you could head down to the valley, grab a few drinks see a few drug addicts?

Do we know what the 5 indie games for PS+ are going to be? Don't get me wrong, it's not enough to convince me to buy it instantly.
But.....you know......Destiny.
Main problem is I wake to the strains of "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYY" so I can't really go for a run first up, even sneaking out results in him jumping out of bed due to his super hearing (factory installed on kids so they can hold the title of Parental Moment Killer until they get slow and lazy and enjoy sleep ins once they hit school). You need to get your jog on as soon as you get home or first thing in the morning. Wake up and automatically put on your running clothes and get out there before your brain knows what's what. Every minute you push back the exercise the chance of you actually doing anything drops dramatically.
You can do it, reppy!
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Yeah the important thing seems to be balancing it so you can keep it up over the long term, not just over a month or two. It's a balance, and I am a little scared but I am fairly confident I can pull it off, time will tell :/
Resogun is at launch.Do we know what the 5 indie games for PS+ are going to be? Don't get me wrong, it's not enough to convince me to buy it instantly.

I was so confident before but I'm having real trouble finding the information to backup my statement. I could have sworn when E3 was first announced there were a bunch of games at once, but all the articles I read now seem to suggest they're coming one at a time. They announced Don't Starve, Outlast, and The Secret Ponchos at E3, but by the looks of it the only thing confirmed for the Euro (and thus the AU) PS+ is Resogun. They're promising a game every month after that. So I guess the "five" (read: four, I can't find evidence for a fifth) games are for the US, and it's just two for us.
Nicalis and Edmund McMillan's Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will come to PS4 and PS Vita (PlayStation Plus subscribers will get it free), too, along with a Steam release in 2014.
Nice. I assume that's 2014 though.

Might look at having a bigger breakfast and making dinner smaller.
whoa! you've posted pics before and you didn't seem like someone that could get that big granted they were just pics of your head, but still!!I recently hit 100kg.

Fly Minter to Australia. Why? Who cares!Rep, how long is your lunch break? Can you fit a walk in there?
Personally I find it hard to get in exercise at the end of the night, that's winding down time.
Also, I found that quitting a job that is making you miserable is a great way to lose weight
And yes I will do my darndest to make a kick ass video. Just need to pick the right project first Damn my interest in making both games and comics.
Valve also implemented some more menus for use in SteamOS. You can now select a timezone, whether or not you can go to the Linux desktop and if you want to start Steam in Big Picture mode by default
