AusGAF 9 - F*** Off, We're Full (Of People With Different Ethnic Backgrounds)

Helloooooooooooooooooo Christmas present for Dad. Repay him for buying me Ayrton Senna Super Monaco GP 2 for our Master System back in '92 :)

Also the fact they are donating money from every copy of GT6 sold is awesome :)

Hehe, my cat stood in it's own poo and now has a shocked look on it's face while it's limping around the laundry trying to find somewhere to scrape it off lololol

Jesus died awhile ago but your not bitching about christmas and easter!

Now if only a competent dev Could get the f1 license from code masters. God how I hate what they have become. Ruined their rally games and pretty much every racing game they make.

Ah, it made your dick enormous right? Did the same thing to me. :) Actually no, what it did to me was help me gain 25kgs. :( Lexapro is the one that ended up working for me, but now I am on Valdoxan (agomelatine) as an anti depressant and sleep aid combined. It's pretty useless with the depression, but for the first time in 20 years I can sleep normal hours and all the way through without needing a dedicated sleeping pill. So I'll take that for now.

Haha, that'd be a welcome improvement!

A good sleep routine helps with depression, so that's at least one extra benefit.

Can I suggest you try something else? Have you thought of trying meditation? It's definitely something worth trying and unlike drugs it doesn't have any side effects. Sometimes (a lot?) drugs are needed to at the very least to take the edge of, especially for anxiety and/or depression issues, so I am not trying to say don't take them but sometimes these things can be dealt with in other ways. Having said that, I don't know the full extent of your condition but the mind is an amazing and very adaptable thing, might be worth considering anyway.

Meditation certainly helps, but it is a constant maintenance routine that you may need to employ whenever a bad time strikes. I'm not knocking it, it's an excellent tool to have at your disposal. A simple breathing technique is all that is needed to provide at least some relief. This is the technique I was taught and found it summarised nicely on some website so I don't have to type it:

Smoke Out said:
  • While breathing out, imagine that all your negative energies, mistakes, misunderstanding and emotions leave your body with the breath. Visualise this energy as black smoke, which goes out into space and completely disappears.
  • While breathing in, imagine that all the positive energy of the universe enters your body with the breath. Visualise this positive energy as pure white light which enters all the parts of your body, it pervades every cell and atom. Enjoy this clear white light.
  • If you feel comfortable, use every breath to inhale light and to exhale black smoke and problems.
  • When distracted by other thoughts, simply observe them without getting involved; transform them into black smoke and breathe them out.

In the past this has helped me many times when my anxiety was starting to really amp up. Even though the anxiety was making my breath feel laboured, it was eased by this technique so I could feel somewhat normal.

Side effects for me on whatever im on are excellent. My penis doesnt work correctly but if i had a mrs, she sure would be happy with the performance from it!

Im going to start taking it in the morning instead of night. Feels kinda worthless at night.

This was exactly the thing I was avoiding mentioning.

SSRIs are known to mess with our bits in a number of different ways and may lower libidos too. Funnily enough, I think I know the exact side effect you're referring to.

AssCreed4 on 360/PS3 for $58 from Big W

Battlefield 4 on 360/PS3 for $68 from Big W

Rep, any place to get Batman cheaper than BigW's $58?

Where's everyone getting their PS4/X1s from? You guys just getting them locally?

Amazon.

Got an email from JB today, inviting me to preorder xbone/ps4 for 29th nov. Maybe give that a go?

Was asked for ID while picking up something to commemorate the eighth anniversary of my reaching the legal drinking age today. Honestly can't remember the last time that happened.

Happy birthday BoB.

Happy birthday!

Birthday!

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday BoB.

Cheers, chappies.

Pretty uneventful one, but I enjoyed it. Brother gave me Samurai Pizza Cats on DVD so I watched some of that. Looking at it now pretty much every joke must have gone over my head as a lad, probably just enjoyed it for the pizza delivering robot samurai cats and the more obvious bits of slapstick in the animation at the time, but it's damn funny now. Had the sister's family over for a bit too, that was nice.

Then I spent the rest of the evening drinking cheap scotch out of this thing while I watched Tori Amos' MTV Unplugged set.

Holy fuck, I actually remember that mug.

Yikes.

PS. I must've missed the birthday announcement. Congrats!
PPS. Samurai Pizza Cats? Is that the entire season? Even if not, ohhhhh laaawwwd. I still love the whole backstory of how SPC was "translated". So good.

So my friend is looking at buying houses and came across something a little bit disturbing

Sift through the pics to find it
It gets better. Or worse.

Yeah a few years now. Kaz is a huge motor racing fan though obviously, and Senna is still Jesus to everyone. Poly seem to do a bunch of different programs all the time, like the GT Academy stuff.

Thanks, man.

Yeah, the complete series. Was released on DVD in the US a few months ago (region free, despite what the case says), and will be getting a local release (split into two volumes, each costing as much as the single US set) this month and in December.

The whole "we don't have translated materials to work from, let's just turn it into a full-on comedy and do our own thing" thing is great, yeah. Even as someone that likes accurate translations (accurate to the intent of the material with localisation where necessary that is, not stiff literalism) it's kinda sad that stuff like Samurai Pizza Cats can't really happen anymore. I like that kind of transformative material where people just take something and run with it to represent it in an entirely different way, too.

OMG! i'm pretty sure i still have that too! Also the one with batman doing a punch, that one had a sick handle iirc!

I have two of these, but they're both Riddler ones. Don't think we ever got any of the other ones.

I really like the whole "Batman symbol in the Riddler questionmark" logo they had going for that movie, even though the film itself is pretty middling. Even bought some cheap earrings from around that time a few years back.

Hi kids,

I have piles of unplayed, unopened video games. Total cash spent is probably in the thousands of dollars.

I'm in my thirties now, have other rewarding hobbies, and just don't have the time to give a lot of the games I own the attention they deserve. Yes, one day I might want to play 'A Boy and His Blob', or my unopened PS1 copy of FFVIII, or that Splinter Cell game I picked up on the cheap, but it's just not worth holding onto them for that mere chance.

There is little point in me retaining a collection of games that I will never play. Some might be worth a bit of cash - others not so much.

Should I just haul them off to EB, or go the eBay route? A few are even still in the plastic.

Not looking to offload everything, and there are games that I have played that I'd like to retain for sentimental value.

At the moment, it's looking like the end.

Check eBay prices then sell them on GAF!

Also fuck EB. They will screw you over.

Also Gumtree is great for selling stuff at inflated prices.

Also you're in your late thirties right?

Rep, any place to get Batman cheaper than BigW's $58?
There was an eBay group buy for $56 posted but can't find it now :/

Video Ezy is $48 posted (2 week wait I bet)

Blockbuster is $47 posted (2 week wait I bet)

PC version can be found for around $25 but I won't post any links.

Ah, forgot about VideoEzy. I'll order it from them, my previous orders have usually arrived in a week. Got Max Payne 3 from OGS which arrived today, so timing is perfect.

I know about the cheap PC version, but I'd rather buy a console copy, finish the game and sell it on gumtree.

*facepalm* Just got the floorplan for Supanova Brisbane. We'd booked 3 artists alley spaces (one for Bulba, one for my wife, and one for Purple Kecleon who's visiting from the US). But for some reason, the tables haven't been placed together. Thankfully, there's a double space next to the Bulba table which they surely should be able to move to place the other two in....but who knows if they'll be willing to shift things around at this stage of events.

is ff8 the original or the classics/budgety one?

you'd be silly to offload the original to EB.. VERY silly

Week one of diet completed. Results: 2.1KG loss, 1.5cm off waistline. Not a huge change but I can notice the difference already, bring on week 2 :D

Sorry rep, I can't hear you over the sound of how much of a DAD you are.
Can't help it, I'm always busting to let it out

THE FUCKING CAT FOOD DISH SHOULD NOT BE POURED INTO THE CAT WATER DISH, BOY

I'm a real thrifty basterd but I just can't bring myself to sell my games. Which sucks because it would make this hobby so much cheaper! It isn't like these things increase in value these days now that digital distribution is in place.

I guess it's kinda our generations version of having a moderately stocked bookcase for people to notice and create ice breakers out of. Not up to collector levels, just common man kinda stuff. But common man with awesome taste.
