Heh, it's actually a really enjoyable movie for the first 2/3rd's. Final act falls a little flat but Stallone & Bandera have GREAT screen chemistry. Really enjoyable stuff. Now, thanks to that Banderas meme, I'm going to watch Assassins.
Yeah the movie was really damn good up until the end. At which point the alternate, comic book schlock ending started. Felt like a gigantic fucking reshoot after test audiences wondered where the schlock was.I was enjoying the shit out of it until near the end where he goes into the secret lair or whatever the fuck it is. Until then it was pretty low key and restrained. After that? A generic comic book film where I didn't give a crap.
Wolverine needs to smoke a cigar!
Wolverine doesn't fuck shit up enough! Moar ninjas!
Implausible nemesis that ruins the theme of honour and forgiveness through giving oneself for the greater good!
Once they quickly finish that second twist it ends okay, better than the Max Payne arc at least.
Also bewbs.
Also does Logan swear in the other movies? That moment during the interrogation when he swore was intense! Loved that scene.
Also mid-credits scene is pure SHIT JUST GOT REAL 2014 for sure. Hyped as fuck for Days of Future Past!
The most notable thing is that it's more of a movie than most movies we get these days! The characters have arcs! The plot has a beginning, a middle and an end! The themes actually tie into the story to give them strengths and direction! It is! Such a love letter to the whole nostalgic Americana 50s thing.
I don't get the hate. I really don't. It's hardly original, it doesn't try and make you cry, it just gives you a good old feel good story that is meant to inspire people to be better.
