So is everyone going to be choosing between either B3 or MW3..or buy both? I'm kinda leaning more towards MW3 because I'm more familiar with the multiplayer, and B3 multiplayer doesn't seem suited to short in and out quick match sessions.

Neither. No interest at all.

But if pushed, MW3 only because friends will play it. But thats a moot point since my xbl has gone back to silver.

I'm choosing life.

Failing that, Forza 4.

PS. God damnit, everyone get on Sequence. Nothing to lose.

Might grab Battlefield 3 depending on whether any of the myriad internet communities I frequent gets into it. But there's so. Many. Games.

COD mp is rubbish, tailor made for n00bs and campers. I'm getting MW3 (well my housemate is) to play the campaign (once on veteran then forget about it) and mainly for the co-op mode which is tons of fun. Co-op was the real value in MW2, and zombies in Black Ops.

BF3 campaign spoilers but not specific storyline stuff

its a lot more realistic than COD and this i think harms it. DICE have gone for the Medal of Honor style try to set it in the modern day, realistic weaponry, realistic environments where as COD is the michael bay of games. This harms BF3 because it doesn't seem so OTT and epic

How the hell does Origin know I pre-ordered The Old Republic. I bought it on Amazon and haven't linked it to an account at all yet it shows up in My Games on Origin.

I don't deny being a noob at shooters!

Anyway, now that I think about it, I do have other more important games I should be playing during the summer, plus my backlog. Maybe I'll skip the online shooters then.

I'm buying both on PS3. MW3 is definitely the better option if you want fast paced quick matches.

Eavesdropware. Less glamorous-sounding than spyware.

The easiest explanation is this:

Create Amazon account
Create XBox Live account
Create EA Sports account
Create Origin account
Get EA Sports account hacked
Get XBox Live account hacked
Get credit card hacked
Get Amazon account hacked
Get Origin account preorder list updated

I picked up BF3 earlier today and I'll try MW3 out when it drops on Steam.

It covers the bases well but makes it too hard for the fanboys to bitch about. I really like straight out PRO, CON, CONCLUSION, after a solid 2-ish page review. Maybe have a separate Opinion piece on how the game connects with you and thoughts on whether or not it met its potential.

The thing is though, the Ars reviews are written so well that by the time you get to the verdict you've already made up your mind.

Immigration sent me a survey. One question made me laugh.

"The government in Canberra can be trusted to do the right thing for the Australian people".

Strongly agree | Agree | Neither | Disagree |Strongly disagree | Don't know.

Origin = Steam. What's the difference? Both use your data without your knowledge.

In that case they shouldn't need the rating at all. Which I agree with. If we only had well written reviews no one would need a ratings system. We would also buy magazines for the reviews which would be fantastic.

Removed steam years ago after playing Orange box/Portal.

No offence but you're not really in any position to comment on it then.

I mean that's like me saying whats the difference between PSN or LIVE without having used either for years.

PSN is free.

I was actually quoting my friend who told me origin did not bother him since it was simply a renamed and revamped EA client that he had been using for the past 2 years.

Battlefield is better if you aren't horrible.

Holy shit! The fastest download I've ever gotten was 1.1mb/s. Origin is currently going at 2.3mb/s. Wow.

Edit: Dropped down to 1.5mb/s but still the fastest I've ever gotten.

Yeah, the initial download speed isn't reliable, I don't think. Should drop to the actual speed after a few minutes.

I've been going through all my SUPER OLD Google Docs and found this little beauty which I wrote well over a year ago.

Shepard kills 50, solves murder

Police have again been publicly embarrassed by Commander Shepard of the Normandy, who yesterday solved a murder that had baffled Illium's authorities for days.

According to local Law Enforcement Officer Allya, Shepard became involved in the case following the arrest of Asari Justicar Samara, whom Shepard was allegedly canvassing for a "suicide mission".

Once on the case, Shepard proceeded to "shoot her way through" a local mercenary warehouse, killing or injuring as many as 60 of the employees there.

Shepard returned with a recorded confession of the murder by Eclipse mercenary Elnora, who has since been found dead in Shepard's wake.

Peter Moore is personally bonding a second ADSL2+ line to your house right now, just for using Origin.

Good morning!

Hope you have a fantastic day Mr. Fap!

Also EA did not give RPS a copy of Battlefield 3 before release. Which is strange since you would think that RPS would give it some great press. At least we get cats, dogs and unicorns.

Ars also use the 'rating' system they use because it can't be used on Metacritic. I agree with Jambo that the words are what makes all the difference.
