Hah, after going a few pages back I'm pleased to discover that Blackboard isn't a brand of shittiness particular to UTAS (for once). As if the work isn't painful enough as it is...

Edit: derp.

FFX HD?

what about 7 8 9 D:
They still work in my ps3 while FFX does not. Plus that is what the PS4 will be for! They could just release Blitzball on PSN and I would be super happy.

Also kids these days know more about ps2 games than old ps1 games. Also a lot less work redoing new titles than ones that they wouldn't have high res assets for. Plus maybe there are more ff10 staff around than ff7 staff.

You want to use tabs?! GET THE FUCK OUT. Blackboard is for browsers made in 1994 and if you don't like it we'll save all the lecture slides as a windows slideshow or something else that doesn't work with phones.

Video Games!

I find it really hard to finish games these days.

Case in point: Dead Island.

Heaps of fun, played about 12 hours, about half an hour into Act II. But I really don't know if I could be bothered playing any more.

I used to feel bad about doing this, now I realise that is just how I play games. As long as I get my moneys worth I just couldn't care less about finishing games these days.

Oh and Zelda is seeming like the best thing ever. That's without checking any spoilers though, just the hype gauge. But I must remember: dont fall for hype dont fall for hype dont fall for hype dont fall for hype.
I hadn't actually seen much about to up until this morning. Then I checked one of the trailers (I think the weapons one)...

Now? Well...

Negative on all accounts. I could select sides.

Note: this isn't a bar, so I guess I can be less... Or more strict.

ABC Brisbane had the following closed caption when the story about Nick Xenophon naming a catholic priest for whatever the fuck catholic priests do to young people that they shouldn't be doing.

"anally Catholic Priest"

That beats the caption from the Logies two years ago where the captions implied dead actors had worked in porno appeared during the "in memoriam" segment.

Was actually four smaller chicken breasts. Chips were really good, but the 'parma' felt a bit undercooked and too moist for my tastes. The topping was majoritally cheese, which is surprising for an Italian restaurant. Would not eat again.

5/5 stars

I would have paid serious money for that when I was travelling around Tassie. Couldn't find food suitable for human consumption.

Kritz.net is a very funny review site with an unfortunate lack of grammar and punctuation and general sense making!

For perspective on the place I went to.

Um, the two people manning the restaurant were really nice. And I've heard great things about the place from people who actually like Italian foods. So, there's that.

duuuuuuuuuude. I had no idea anyone ever ate at that place.

You should've asked for recommendations and I would told you that the chinese place just up the road would've been better.
Why aren't you eating at Salamanca or something nice?

edit: okay I just noticed your from hobart. Hawkward, you should've known better

Went to a birthday party and the guy's a vegetarian. But also really cheap. I went to the chinese place when I was younger and enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of chinese food. Less so italian, but whatever.

There's another great chinese place at the bottom of north hobart that kicks ass. They do a great Mongolian beef dish.

I've actually never eaten in Salamanca for anything other than a coffee at a bakery or some fish and chips.

You could have stopped there, I understand...

I also very rarely eat from Salamanca, usually will get take away on the way home or something from anna purna or la porchetta.
Ball and chain is nice, rest of the places other than the bakehouse and all those little cafes are just pubs so maybe my recommendation of Salamanca was a bad one.

Also the chinese place in-between derwent park/New Town is good. Cant remember what it's called! oh well hobart isn't that big

Hrm. There's one on new town main road. There's also one across from the pizza hut which has changed management about 4 times the past decade, which is a buffet style one at the moment.

So many Tasmanians showing their ugly mugs on AusGAF these days.

It's shameful, we should return to the wilderness where we belong.

Wat. Good food and coffee is pretty much the only thing Hobart has in excess.

Maldini's in Salamanca and Don Camillo in Magnet Court in sandy bay are both run by mates of mine. Really nice food though I may be somewhat biased.

Tell me you are joking. Better not be china diner. ugh.

Best places to eat in Hobart other than my mates restaurants:

Me Wah (magnet court also) - Chinese
Jackman & Mcross (greatest bakery ever) - in New Town, Battery Pt and the City, just around the corner from
The Astor Grill - sensational steakhouse
Ball & Chain is great

And bonus pick:

Get your arse down to Bruny Island, drive down past the neck, take the first left (east) towards the bay and go to a place called The Hothouse Cafe. Order the damper.
Fucking incredible.

I kid because I love you guys! Also I just watched Bridesmaids and needed a funny joke as it was formulaic and boring. The fat chick was really great though, great writing and perfect delivery. The rest of it was like watching an all female remake of all of Seth Rogans movies melded together. Not bad but not great either. Now for some de3 to redeem my masculinity

Love Jackman and McRoss. I had a fantastic lunch at Sweet Envy in North Hobart the other day, cheap too. They have some of the nicest icecream I've ever tried.

Vilino for coffee.
Kafe Kara for smoothies.
Sush for sushi and miso (of course).

Where to eat in brisbane-

Ascot, hamilton
- that thai cheap
Gino's quite cheap
Gusto da gianni (portside) relatively expensive italian but swanky and good food. Good place for a date

Breakfast Creek Hotel
Not cheap anymore but great steak

CBD
JoJo's- reasonable cost
Belgian Beer Cafe- not bad
SAnitarium Kitchen- vegetarian, may only be open during business hours
Cha cha char. Very exy
Vino's very exy, not that great

The Valley
Tara thai- cheap thai, but good
Jubilee Hotel
Fringe bar- love the beef burger
Belle Epoch very expensive
Capri- good italian but not cheap

Southbank
lots of choice, mostly awful
Satay hut is ok and the pizza place next to movenpick is decent

Mount Gravatt
Toni's

Toowong
Mariosarti (good italian)

Ashmore
Ashmore steak and seafood

Ok, so its either steak or italian but that's what I prefer

Any other suggestions?

I like the italian place at cox's road in Ryde in Sydney.

You forgot King of Kings Yumcha in the Valley. Love me some Yumcha.

If you're after sushi rolls, Top Sushi in the city is by far the best. Get the soft shell crab, or the crab meat inari. Its a Korean sushi place, next to where crispycreme used to be. The best Japanese curry is at Hanaichi.

Thats all from me :p

City - Kingsley's Steak and Crabhouse. It's not just seafood. It's a fucking CRABHOUSE.

Toowong - A Night in India. Good Indian, pretty cheap.
There is a good Thai place too. The name completely eludes me know, it's above Super Chicken. Actually I don't think Super Chicken exists anymore. I think it's a Sol Bakery now. So above that.

Southbank - There are two Turkish places. One is delicious the other I've never been to but haven't heard great things. I cannot tell you which one is which. So, you know, have fun finding out.

The only place in Tassie that really stuck out were Banjo's Bakeries. Why? They served soup and garlic panini for breakfast. Done and done.

Second.

Oh and West End has some good stuff. Indian Kitchen is cheap and good and Lefka's does awesome gyros.

Three Monkeys is pretty famous, though I've only ever had cake there (IT WAS HUGE).

Also there's a fancy desert bar directly opposite the three monkeys at that intersection. Lots of great cocktails and cakes, but I thought it was a bit pricey.

SURPRISE ADDITION: Govindas in the city. I'm not even vegetarian, and I don't care much for that kind of thing, but this place is so good. All you can eat lunch for $10~. They have lots of curry dishes and the BEST custard pudding ever.

lol, I just realised I'm more of a budget kinda person when it comes to eating out.

Godly curry place.

Ahmet's is the only good place in Southbank. Everything else there carries the 'southbank tax' where everything costs $5 more than what you'd pay in the CBD.

There's also that place next to the Ouzeri that does the good BBQ lamb gyros and chicken salads. Caravanserai is away from the core of West End but has some well-priced Turkish food of great quality.
-
As for my stretch of town, the Prince of Wales hotel does great pub food, and Jam 4012 is superb little cafe that is like having a slice of New Farm in the middle of the northern suburbs wasteland.

In the city, The Villager on George is my little secret. They do breakfast, coffees, pub lunches, a la carte, and cocktails and they do them all very well. Expensive, but worth it. Try their Wagyu burgers first time you go there.

Brisbane - never had a sub-par experience.

Gold Coast - bleurgh.

D: really?!?! Bad management or something I guess.

They're the only place I can find that puts those red radish bits on top, which is mostly why they get my vote.
