AusGAF IV - A No Hope, Government - Double the price, region locked and now adults

That's quite possibly the most hideous thing I've ever seen. But then. I'm not much of a customiser.

Homefront single player wasn't bad. Like MoH reboot, SP just felt too much like a short CoD clone with a great premise wasted.

I did forget I had played Red Faction Armageddon a few weeks ago. That was easily the least interesting (not necessarily bad, but its main problem was it was dull compared to RFG)

Ozgameshop is ok for delivery compared to Zavvi or the Hut, but with so many good games, I will be buying a few of the bigger games local for a change. I got seriously burnt with Zavvi delivery times last year.

Oh fuck you Reptile, the moment you said "only x copies remaining" i had to buy one. Looks like I'll be double-dipping on CoE.

How much would you pay for Red Faction: Armageddon?
$90?

No?

What about $60?

No?

Okay, what about I sweeten the deal? $25!?!

NO?!?

Fine, $16.47*, last offer. 360 PS3

Happy?

Nah, probably not.

*does not included postage and handing.

Yep.

And then I'd be forced to buy something else to make the order worth it, though.

The problem is - and this is a real, serious issue - is that I had to cure my compulsive purchasing problem by purchasing everything I had a passing interest in and I've finally fit saturation point.

Oh noes!

Waiting for a sale is just an excuse not to make a purchase, mister, and I don't accept excuses!

You damn well buy some games and not play them, you hear?!?

From what I've concluded after several Steam sales and Ozgameshop bargains... there is no saturation point.

I don't know how to play Football manager, but I have a feeling what I really want to play is Football Manager but with managing an adventurer's guild in a fantasy world or something. This is probably why I liked X-Com and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and stuff.

You just have to be able to hold it together psychologically when both your wingers break their feet, your centre-half tears his achilles tendon, and your star striker refuses to talk to you. And your every transfer approach gets laughed at and knocked back.

Great game. Magnificently designed. The rush it produces is worryingly addictive. When a new signing or promoted reserve player scores, or a substitution works out, or even when you hold on for a draw after a string of losses.

That sounds great, not kidding, but I have no interest in soccer and would find it difficult to sustain my interest in it.

I'm aware it's not really about soccer (well, football) but still

Yeah, I imagine it does take a baseline interest in football to make it work for you.

It's genuinely classic when the press conference presents you with a question and a series of response options - and there is not one you can take without the media spinning it as you being a total cock.

I like the management aspect of it.

I really think that's the kind of direction I'd like to see a new X-Com game go in the direction of. Tactical sRPGs + management sim! Would be ace.

Casey Stoner's MotoGP race (that he qualified first for) is about to start. First time I've made a point of watching a race, maybe y'all should too. Get some patriotism up ya.

Bahaha. I've never not liked Rossi (believe it or not, I can distinctly remember watching him once or twice in the 125s) but patriotism has to win out. I also seem to recall hearing that the Italian might be a bit of a shit cunt on the track... I think.

Also Zavvi and PlayAsia charge for postage which is a nice mental barrier to impulse buys for me.
Yeah it is a shame that The Hut Group charges again. However least its much cheaper then what it was previously when you had to pay.

Ozgameshop is still free shipping though ;)

For what it's worth, I tweeted Ozgameshop about paying for faster postage, they said that the next step up was via courier that would cost $50. I thanked them for their response.

PS. Stoner = Vettel confirmed. Pissed that one in.

What's with (almost always older) people in China and South Korea staring right at you, just because you're white? Ugh, seriously, get over it. Wife having people openly gawking at her breasts is incredibly demeaning; it's not like she isn't wearing a top.

I get it, we're blonde, white and have round eyes and that's weird, but you don't have to make us feel like we have legs growing out of our heads. I thought Koreans would be better than this... Granted, it's not as bad as the open mocking we got in China (Xi'an was the worst, with old ladies spitting 'Laowei'at us), but still.

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest. Pretty frustrating being gawked at for the better part of a week.

The greatest achievement that Sports Interactive have achieved is making a job feel like a game. Football Manager is a job, there is no doubt about it but its also an amazing piece of software. Horribly addictive.

I think Dead Island broke me. Played nothing but racing games all weekend. NFS:HP, Trackmania 2 and Dirt 3.

Gears of War 3 will get me back into asplodeys tomorrow.

I think I played...um...GoatUp a lot. It is a fun video game.

I played Photoshop. I wish Photoshop had achievements. I played the Presidog level again.

Who the hell has time to play video games?

So AlphaBounce is eating my soul.

It's an amazing game, but damn if it isn't an unpolished mess. It's buggy, full of egregious spelling mistakes and ridiculous load times, but I can't put it down. Something about tearing through these blocks with a fireball and softening-up stubborn blocks with missiles just feels so right.

Ugh, hate the issues I'm having with PC gaming at the moment. Everything DX9 seems to shit itself completely when Crossfire is running and RadeonPro doesn't want to disable it before playing. Thinking "reformat".

Computers
Y U no make gaming easy?

Have you tried physically removing one of the cards to test that it is crossfire causing the issue?

Thinking "ditch crossfire".
I've been thinking that for a while, but there's something incredibly masculine about knowing I need two video cards to power my beast of a gaming PC.

They may still be worth a little bit on eBay, so I might even sell them together and buy a single-card equivalent. Preferably ATI.

Good morning AusGAF.
I finished bastion on the weekend finally. good game (you done yet jintor? what did u pick for the bastion to do at the end?)

Anyone up to or near escorting Ope in dead island, i want to finish the game but have found it fairly boring playing by myself.

Enjoying RO2 a lot aswell, despite lag and a few bugs at the start of the weekend. Once they clear up these net code/server lag issues the game will be fantastic. Game really gets the blood pumping and always come out with a good feeling/experience.

As for gaming, I am STILL playing my first play through of Deus Ex. If the Steam time counter is to be believed, I am 30+ hours in. That is some value for money right there.

Didn't get around to playing anything this weekend :(

Though I did:

- get a haircut
- watch Star Wars Episodes IV and V
- pick up the new Opeth and DT albums
- watch Conan O'Brien Can't Stop
- housework :(
- Start to watch Episode I and fall asleep

evlcookie

but ever so delicious
Wait it out a little longer and once the 7 series / whatever nvidia are going to release come out, ditch the two cards and go single.

I wish NBN was in my area already. I wouldn't upgrading my iinet plan to a cheaper and faster iinet plan on NBN. Maybe in 2015

Also, Fuck you pollen. Get out of the air already.

Was done a week ago brah!

First time through I flew away. I was frightened that we might have already have been stuck in a Groundhog Day scenario.

Also, the proposed changes to the migration act make me super sad that Australian politics and policy has completely sunk to the bottom. Completely and utterly.

So driving around Sydney CBD last night at 11:30 to drop the woman at work (before you all get filthy minds she is a shift working dr)

amazing how many roads are closed. I had to take the longest way ever to get to Kings X.

Maybe they should close 1 road at a time ffs
