I have it on my "To Watch" list. It just scares me a bit. Anything over 13 episodes always seems so daunting, and this one goes the extra mile. It's pretty much a double 2-cour lol.
I watched the entire thing in a week it was so engaging. Granted, I grew up playing baseball so I had another emotional attachment to Cross Game as a reminder of my childhood, but the story, the characters and the way it is presented was all pretty damn good and made it fly right bye.
Haibane Renmei is one those rare shows that focuses almost entirely on the characters, but not in the typical way anime, or really most forms of entertainment do. It's a show that places the viewer in an ambiguous world with ambiguous rules, but fills it with such grounded characters that eventually you look past the initial confusion, and learn to focus on the characters. It's a show that feels like it never preaches to the viewer, and while there are some concrete themes, what one person gets from viewing may be very different from another's viewing.
The characters are biggest strength of the show. It's worth noting that while all the characters are mostly likable, none of them feel like they were tailor made to be likable, if that makes sense. While the two main leads Rakka and Reki and their relationship lead the thrust of the narrative, everyone feels very grounded and real, despite the majority of the cast having halos and wings. Despite what you may think however, the show never draws a clear line to modern religions.
I'm sure the mythology that lies underneath the character focused story may be discernible, but it's not the main reason anyone should watch Haibane Renmei. It may not be for everyone, but if you find yourself tiring of traditional anime tropes, then I would highly recommend it.
Her tirade at her class there felt pretty climactic. Shame she was still planning on getting her bangs back when losing her bangs and letting people see her face ended up being what she needed to look people in the eye and tell them to fuck off for once in her life
The engrish in this Psycho-Pass movie is hilarious bad and cringe worthy. I mean why not just higher some actual english speakers to voice these roles.
Emma: A Victorian Romance ep. 10-END (S1)
Wow, what a sad conclusion in multiple episodes to end season 1 of this anime.
Madam dying was bad enough, but then the showdown with William and his dad causing Emma to run off, Vivi being the ultimate stuck-up douche, we got a lot of information on Emma's tragic upbringing, abduction, then transportation to London (this explains in great detail how the Madam "saved" Emma and really gave her a chance at life when she was still a young child) and then that train scene to end the season was very sad. You almost expected William to breakdown at that moment.
I have to say, the writing was excellent through the first season. At times it was kinda slow to watch, but they do an great job framing the circumstances as to why those two shouldn't and cannot be together. I mean, we still have no idea whay the Indian Prince is still hangin' aroung with his harem, but even he has an important role as William's friend, and he is there to kick William when he needs it.

That's great you like season 1. This will pick up on Season 2 and it will get very interesting to see how both of them cope with the situation they're in. Watch season 2 and if you love this show, go read the manga. I am actually going to buy the manga as it does expand further when season 2 end.
I really enjoyed it but damn I wish it had more food porn and less actual porn. People told me it was fairly equal opportunity in its fanservice, but it's really not. It's just that it actually has SOME sexy dudes, but the balance is still completely out of whack, and most of the time, the sexy dude shtick is played up for laughs, while the sexy ladies are sexy because the camera believes the boobs and ass are talking instead of the mouth on the face. Also, Nikumi has way more screentime than Isshiki, and she's just ONE of the fanservice chicks. (Semi-related: goddamn am I the only one actively repulsed by the Shiny Skin epidemic? Skin doesn't work like that...)
As far as comedy goes, I enjoyed the moment-to-moment character interactions way more than I enjoyed the Reactions, with a few exceptions (most notably the ones with a bunch of tiny Somas making funny noises).

Although I think it falls apart in the later half, as that blonde guy (can't remember his name) is relegated from someone who's actually a good baker to nothing but comedy relief. That's not the only reason it falls apart, but it's the one that always comes first to mind. ):

The anime goes overboard with the fanservice stuff. The manga tuned it down a bit after the first few chapters. It's still in there, but not as much as the anime.

I thought Cajun got unbanned...
Im@s Cinderella Girls end
Wew, i finally finish this. I think the original is better during the later arc. The original has better recognizable character. Here, they keep throwing new character with each new episode with gimmick. Thing that i like from CG are the producer and the main antagonist. The producer are better than the bland producer from the first one while the antagonist is much more reasonable/ believable than the original one. I enjoy my time with it, but i'm kinda dissapointed with final performance. I want more 2d dancing!

Just came home and Ushio to Tora is out, what perfect timing.
Ushio to Tora - 19
Its backstory time! And what better way to learn about the creation of the beast spear and Hakumen no Mono then time travelling to that time?
Well, that looks like the start of quite the tragedy. And it certainly escalated quickly. Hakumen no Mono is ruthless. And ridiculously powerful. Next episode should be Jie Meis brothers descent into madness. This will not end pretty for both him and Jie Mei from what we already learnt beforehand
The creature design in this show is incredible. And I need that soundtrack.
It always amazes me how much tension and creepyness this show can create in a mere 7 minutes.
Oh I was under the impression it caught some backlash due to lack of authenticity or whatever. That said, I haven't watched any since the first season and what little I've seen in here says it's improved somewhat since.
The nation names are hilarious. There's the Legitimate Kingdom, the Intelligence Union, the Safe Nation,...
Well, new battlefield it is. And this time it's a collaboration between some countries vs. one puny state with half an Object. Of course there has to be an Elite pilot who's also a beautiful idol, lol (with an ojou-sama laugh as a bonus). Lots of fanservice this episode, but it's actually kinda creative, haha.
And sure enough, even though Qwenthur and Havia are on the side with firepower this time, they still manage to find trouble.
I also find it hilarious how the typical Tsundere reactions play out if said Tsundere pilots a huge-ass killing machine.
I was about to drop this, but now there is a lady inside an Object who goes Ohohoho! It looks like the Object itself is doing all of it, which makes it even better.
