It's weird.

Usually I love any story that deals with time travel.

But whenever people talk about Hosoda's works, I always remember that I didn't really feel much for The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

It's okay. Well animated. But the big emotional moments didn't connect.
Part of that make have to do with my own ambivalence towards romantic works though.

Alright so I'm putting this out here for you AnimeGAFfers that I keep an eye on like some dead relative who can't move on with their life. We old folks have saw the days of Smile Precure come by, a time where the community actually watched Precure and were exposed to a franchise that was made for a young audience. It is something that even darkside likes, despite not liking other series, including Heartcatch Precure.

So I am asking you who is willing to watch Glitter Force? The Saban Dub of Smile Precure? Would this be something even Shouta would watch for shits and giggles?

The dub as you can see is a "Netflix Original" (HA) and will start on December 18th. How will we see the dub get handled, beyond music changes (which I'm mixed on because the music blows already) and potential name changes thanks to ghetto 90s dubbing practices for kids shows?

Will it improve on things? Will they retain names, which is up in the air, given things like Digimon's strange localization of names? Who knows, what I want to know though, is are you willing to commit to watch Glitter Force and roll in the tears of our pain through this dub?

What?

WHAT?

Why is this a fucking thing, and that name?... Smile is one of my favorite Precure seasons so I might check it out but we all know it's going to suck.

Huge Nickleback Fan
Let's just talk about who our favorite K-on girl is instead ok?
Mugi, because ojousama and yuri

Her wearing his wristband which means his name in Japaneese in order to stop her was brilliant. God this episode was amazing.

It is brilliant.

Is trigun even that good
It's okay.
I enjoy it but it's not aoty material

But can Conan use his ball as a skateboard?
I pretty much watched the show for Esdeath X
Tatsumi

All their moments made my youthful heart pound with angst.
That ia indeed the right reason to watch akane ga kill. And probably laughing at the amount of ridiculous death flag

At least Happy probably won't be any worse.

i don't know what the hell to watch.

i've slipped back into my anime phase after months of hiatus. Gangsta is cool so far I guess

From this season: Osomatsu and One Punch Man are both really good, with the former being the best comedy since Nichibros and the later having superb animation and really fun designs.

Horse Detective

Why the long case?

I actually haven't watched Nichi because i'm a basic bitch pleb who uses Hulu and Crunchyroll, maybe I should finally get on that.

The other two you mentioned look cool. Had a few people mention one punch man.

He really love his ball. and you know what they say, love defies logic.

the classic
Skylab hurricane

Skylab hurricane 3 person style

It's probably the most famous "trick shoot" in captain Tsubasa before "riding the ball"
Omfg hahahaha hahahaha

Jesus I don't remember any of this shit.

Is it bad that the thing that bothered me the most was the physics?

I mean even if you ignore the leg force you would need to launch your brother that fucking high, he headbutted the ball as both were rising up, so I mean how hard is his neck force that it can counteract the upward force of both him and the ball and make it speed down haha

Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie
The praise for this film was well warranted. This is the best thing to come from the GITS franchise in a long time. And you don't really need to be up on the Arise stuff to watch this, I had forgotten pretty much all of it before seeing it.

I've been playing so much CSGO lately that I decided to watch an anime with guns.

Since I've already watched SAO2 GGO Arc ~50x, I started Sabagebu!

Just need someone to hop on Macross 7 and it'll be a good year for the thread.

I...

I may be up for this. I stopped at about episode 08 a couple years back because I stupidly forgot to watch SDF Macross first. I've since remedied that, but never got back to 7.
i need more To Love-Ru
Watch all 6 OVAs released so far for Darkness? It's all side-chapters, but pure smut.

Also regarding Akame ga Kill, I actually really enjoyed it and switched to the manga. And then it happend: The anime went and did it's own thing. It was fun for shits and giggles, but holy fuck was it bad. Like, real bad.

I didn't expect to find actual Tsubasa talk in this thread lol.

Does Captain Tsubasa have anything to do or in common with "Ganbare, Kickers!" or "Kickers" in the German dub?
Seems to be a different show.

It's not like the manga's own conclusion has been good. The manga fanbase seems to be disappearing due to these chapters.

I'll always prefer rushed anime-only endings to complete non-endings "go read the source material" trash.

I like Wave x Kurome in the manga, but that's pretty much it for my Akame ga Kill enjoyment. The Rape Patrol was lulzworthy as well.

Oh, I have my fun. It's not a must read, but I enjoy it. What irks me more with the anime is stuff like
Mine's death, which bothered Tatsumi like 5 minutes. In the manga he is really down in comparison. And that they somehow "had" to kill nearly the whole cast in the last 1-2 episodes, because why not.

I'll check this without having seen the series proper. I've been wanting to check out Precure and it will be interesting to see how Netflix handles the dub.

Shomin Sample ep. 4-6
This show is pretty funny and a lot less trashy then I really thought it would be, well, as long as you erase your memory of Hakou-sama of course.... I almost died laughing during the McDonald's scene when he tasted the meat and went on that monologue about "This is what beef tastes like." Holy crap, that was good.... Shominland..... Also, Samurai chick has some serious issues, but is pretty damn funny. I have to laugh every time a new trope is brought out and abused by the show just to pander to the Otaku crowd...

I think they're compensating since the manga has been on hiatus due to Aoyama's health.

Oh, that's not good. Sometimes I wish the AO team had the time and budget to do their own minor arcs, even if they were all self-contained in order to avoid seeping into the manga's continuity. I can only watch so many episodes of the detective boys saving puppies from exploding mail delivery trucks and other random inconsequential cases that never do anything besides riff on things that have already been done to death due to the series having lasted for so long.

The show somehow manages to be fun despite pandering to otakus all the time. The McD's scene with the jingle playing every couple scenes was strangely funny, as was seeing the girls get all worked up because the MC was merely touching their hands to help them push buttons for the crane game. I share your pain with Hakua-sama, since her character basically amounts to an autistic loli that has a crush on the MC and keeps undressing herself at random.

I mean, it kinda has to be, well, you would think...

Well, it would be hilarious if it would release without the steam. I am not sure what would make me more happy:
Such a game being the first in the "mainstream" (at least more mainstream than straight up hentai games) or the shitstorm that would definitly happen.

I try to give as many genre as possible a chance, but I haven't watched any sports of music anime.
Do you guys have an recommendations?

Incidentally I even gave ecchi harem shows a chance. I watched High School DxD,because I heard it's one of the best of it's kind.
Give that I hate this anime, chances are I probably don't like any of them ( or maybe it was just the lack of girls with pink hair or glasses).

Well , I guess some people also count Bakemonogatari as part of the genre, but I don't think these shows are comperable.

Ping Pong, but it's pretty different from other sports anime, because of it's characters and their development, which is probably more of a focus than the sport itself.

Also, for shits and giggles, watch any of the Mahjong anime out there. By now I am sure Japan just can't create a Mahjong anime without cheating, super powers or life or death situations.
