I remember being indifferent to this show when it first aired, I don't know it my tastes are shifting or I'm just getting older but I'm really enjoying it this time around. The soundtrack, OP&ED are top notch.

Ugh... I want to watch the next episode of Toradora...

Settle with re-watching Kekkai Sensen because it's fantastic. I binged through Concrete Revolutio. Had to make a small timeline on paper to keep everything in place as I watched it.

Metal bat is one badass dude. S-rank fight is great.
"OK" scene delivered! Next episode is going to be insane!

Owarimonogatari 11
Kanbaru and Shinobu conversation was ace. LOL at Episode and Gaen Izuko reading Araragi BL LN and porn mag.

Is that Shima Kousaku in end card!?

You know, I think I would like Case Closed....if Jimmy wasn't a kid.

Having Jimmy be a kid just makes me completely lose interest in that show, and I don't know why.

When GT started airing in South American back in the days and Goku gets turned into a little kid at the beginning I lost all hope for the series.

Even back then I was tired of kid/teen protagonists.

Except for Digimon

Is Silver Spoon going to get another season?

Not particularly likely. The anime wasn't really popular at all, and the manga sells fine on its own. The anime didn't give it much of a boost either iirc. The larger problem is that the manga is on the final arc but taking forever to end because the author is taking huge breaks because she has a sick family member she's been looking after. Maybe in a few years if the manga ends and they want to do the fans a favor, they'll do one last season to end it all. Worked for Mushishi....

Have you watched it?

I watched around 10 episodes.

The show is enjoyable for what it is. I could definitely see why some people have followed the series for as long as they have.

But it just doesn't work for me.

I'm guessing by your avatar that you're a fan?
What keeps you watching/reading?

OK, I see. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the sickness in the family. I am a big fan of Fullmetal Alchemist and I enjoyed the Silver Spoon anime. Have not read the manga.

The age regression aspect of Case Closed is the worst part of the series.

"What do you know, you're just a kid!"

It's annoying, and what's worse is that it's still like that 800+ episodes in. Just turn him back into Jimmy already.

I talked about it at length earlier this year. I enjoy detective fiction already, but the way Detective Conan uses it's characters in a modern, relatively mundane setting is pretty unique. Gosho Aoyama can write some pretty terrific stand alone mysteries, and the overarching story (at a drip feed pace) has enough subterfuge/intrigue to get really interesting from time to time.

ridiculous six is actually entertaining to watch when you see how Adam Sandler is acting throughout the movie and pretend that his tired line delivery is not from the character. but from him just giving up on his career.

But not really, it was a horrible movie and I want to scrub it out of my brain. They had the naked wolf from twilight as a simpleton and they told him that for comedic line delivery you just need to make a special voice.

Would be nice. As duckroll said if it happens it will be a while down the road.

As I recall S2 ended at around chapter 75 or 80 and we're up to 113 and the restart has only been announced. So maybe we could have enough material by tne end of 16.

Ah, detective conan, i read the manga from around 1996 till 2014 . Haven't read it again due to boredom. Too much minor case, not enough black organization case. Maybe i'll read it again one of these days.

Sailor Moon Mondays: Sailor Moon Super S: Episode 168

At last, at long last, the long national nightmare known as Sailor Moon Super S is at and end and thank god for that. Yea, obviously I have fallen into the camp that thinks this season is pretty god damned worthless. SO much so I couldn't be assed to review last weeks offerings of episodes and I regret nothing. At any rate, Queen Nehelenia seems to have all her ambitions and dreams at hand with possession of the Golden Crystal but Chibi Moon Call for help from all the little children and detonates a blast of energy that renders her weak and frail and we get ten minutes of back story to fill some time. As usual in these cases Nehelenia resembles the manga backstory only warped and distorted through the lens of adaptation. Indeed this whole sequence does resemble how it happened in the manga just with the details changed, like it was a team attack in the manga that took down Queen Nehelenia and rendered her feeble. Anyway, the real climax of the episode is the culmination and rejection of philosophical underpinnings that have driven Dead Moon and Sailor Guardian. Nehelenia accepts her fate of being resealed in the dark mirror so that she can regain her youth and vigor, seeing that as more desirable then growing old and indolent and never growing up at all. Once again, a reflection of what happened in the manga but the aftermath here is strange but that is outside the scope of this episode and season. Before being imprisoned again Nehelenia tosses Chibiusa off into the sky in order to destroy what Sailor Moon holds most dear and Usagi does what a hero is supposed to do and dive bombs after her. Usagi and Chibiusa activate the power of the golden crystal and that damned horse by stating they will grow up together and they will secure the happy future, which yea, is kind of going to happen now that I think about it, damn you time travel. Anyway, the day is saved and Helios gets a big romantic send off that didn't really amount to anything either in the anime or the manga since he kind of just fucks off for good and was not missed.

Sailor Moon Mondays: Sailor Moon Stars: Episode 169:

Finally, at long last, the lost season, at least it first episode, of the fabled final season has reached official North American shores. Well, provided you live in the USA as Canada still has no streaming Sailor Moon and they are very bitter about this and will let you know about it vehemently on Twitter. Right, so the episode itself is a very interesting development because, well, the adaptational mistakes made by TOEI at the end of Sailor Moon S really came to bite them on the ass here. So to recap, in the anime Pharaoh 90 is defeated, Hotaru is rendered an infant and Tomoe survives to raise her right. Yea, all that happened in the manga save for the fact that Tomoe was killed and it was left to the Outers to raise Hotaru. Also, Sailor Pluto wasn't dead here having already done the reverse revival thing in Sailor Moon S and joined the others in departing so that Hotaru could be raised and eventually they became a family unit which was the high point of Dreams. Indeed The Outers would rejoin The Inners to fight Dead Moon and by the time of Sailor Moon Stars full integration between the two factions had happened. Indeed, one of the only scenes that is actually from this arc in the manga this episode is the crew talking about high school and finally entering high school The Outers are right alongside them. So this episode is mainly establishing that family unit in The Outers only TOEI hopes you don't look too close to see all of the seams showing as they basically bring back Setsuna with no explanation and she just grabs Hotaru for no real reason. Yea, it is really clumsy but they had to make the stars realign somehow since The Outers are a faction that exists once again. Still, the most curious thing about this episode and this arc is they actually took what was basically a loose end in the manga and sought to give it proper resolution I guess. In the manga when Queen Nehelenia gets resealed she just kind of vanishes and the whole deal moves onto other things. In the anime series she is freed and manipulated into becoming the agent of a new power for ill defined reasons. Unfinsihed business indeed but Helios is already forgotten about and thank god for that.

I forgot how much Nagi no Asakura got to me. It's not like AnoHana or After Story where it just hits you in bursts or all at once, it's just a constant simmering of emotion throughout the whole thing.

I had to stop at ep.6 because something was bothering me about said emotions. It just felt off in an annoying way as you could already predict all the shipping drama between the girls and the land boys, etc. I'll go back eventually though....
