Boruto: Naruto the Movie
Story was neat, well at least for the first two-thirds. The first 3rd deals with Naruto family issues, while the 2nd 3rd deals with the chunnin exams, and the final 3rd is a fight against two villains no one cares about.
In terms of characterization, Naruto is a busybody father who only sends shitty clones to his daughter's birthday party. Boruto is a cheating brat who brings disgrace to his family, but only because he feels neglected due to Naruto having zero idea how to talk to his children. Sarada's cool, but barely in the movie, same with Mitsuki (the weird guy with blue hair). Technology has jumped up to early 2000 level of tech in the course of 10 years. The women in the series continue to do nothing. And the last 3rd only exists so we can have a cool fight scene with two faceless baddies vs all the kages + Sasuke and even Boruto. Hinata was surprisingly okay with Sasuke taking her son to fight a bad guy that leveled part of the city and was on par with Naruto in terms of the strength. The moral of the story is that cheaters never win and training/talent is superior.
The animation was amazing. The last 3rd of the movie is some of the best fighting animation I've seen from the series and a lot of anime movies in general. Beat the ever loving shit out of Resurrection F's animation. This movie gave me more of a nostalgia trip than Resurrection F did, so I might be a little bias.
All and all, the movie was fun. Easily the best Naruto movie I've seen (only seen the first movie, The Last, and this one) and probably the best Shounen Jump movie I've seen (only seen Battle of the Gods, Resurrection F, that One Piece Alibasta arc remake, and the Naruto movies mentioned above).
8/10
Wouldn't mind seeing more of Boruto's adventures if they're as good as this was. Also fucking lol at the end credits scene.
