Utapri Legend Star 3: I think this is the closest Utapri has ever been to being BL. Really good episode, still the best idol anime. Since this is Utapri I wasn't sure if the angel wings were supposed to be literal or figurative.

So I plan on finishing up Heart x Hybrid tonight before I hit the hay. I just started episode 9...
are you fucking kidding me?! like really!? The episode starts off with a whole classroom of male students oogling nude "data recreations" of the main girls. w....wat?! (Like, their even talking about where their erogenous zones are... jesus christ....)

I still don't think this show will dethrone Lance N' masques as the most painful shitty anime i've watched, but its getting reaaaaal close.

edit: Oh shit it just got even weirder. Now he's showing them... what can only be described as the unknown sextape of him and the girls... i.... w.... huh?

edit2: uhm... this, um, whipping scene is fucking weird to say the least... I should have listened to Cornbread...

edit3: I have a very bad feeling about where this is going....

oh no..... nononono

I'll never forgive Anime Limited for this:

This makes even less sense when you remember they, themselves, organised the showing of the Love Live! movie in the UK.

oh never mind... well... kinda. sorta.

....

Thank god the cut to post. Only implied sex with the loli...
oh boi...

...

edit: episode 11 time and... wait, we madoka now? when did this plot point of them having a limited life span for using the weapons come from? :S i honestly don't remember.

edit2: I wonder how you all would feel if I said that the first half of episode 11 reminded me a bit too much of Dragon Ball Super (but with mechs)... maybe I'm just going insane...

(last edit, i'll just give full impressions tomorrow after I wake up):
So the first 3/4th of episode 11 are... actually good... somehow... Like... not even joking it wasn't half bad.
and of course they ruin the pleasant surprise feeling I have by bringing on more porn shenanigans -_-;

Love Live! Sunshine!! (Dub) 1

I remember being really impressed with the first few episodes of the original series before getting pretty bored in later episodes. I was feeling that same way watching this episode. Really strong opening, even if they cloned literally everyone from the first series at a surface glance.

The animation is far and away better than before, but I'll see if it stays.

Also this is the first anime I've watched in months lol why did it have to be love live

This might actually be the worst show this season. It so completely fails as a weekly mystery show, the main cast has nothing to them outside of their character archetypes and its horrendously ugly to boot. It makes Occultic;Nine look like a fully realised production.

I've liked Isao Takahata's Ghibli films more than Miyazaki's.

Favorite Miyazaki film though is Kiki's Delivery Service.

So many hats. It's their worst product by far and for a good reason.

Lol, just saw the typo.

I don't know. That movie was by Miyazaki's son and it's obvious the moment you look at it. It "feels" different. It is worse than most of his father's work, but people treat it like it's the worst film ever made.

I enjoyed it way more than 5cm per second at least :p (I know, not a Ghibli film, but I felt like I had to say this)

If anyone knows whether it's coming to German cinemas please do tell.

Don't think Shin Godzilla is going to be out here soon either. Better travel somewhere to see it or else Imma get banned :(

What do people here think about Gintama? I'm four episodes deep in crunchyroll with the series and not feeling it yet. Is there a point where it gets better, what are the best arcs?

Nobunaga no Shinobi #3

Continues to be a pleasant and funny watch. And I still like the Opening a lot. (That's only a part since I can't find a complete video of it, buthere's the entire song part on its own at least :/)
Are there any other good shorts this season?

Gintama is amazing but it does take a while to warm up. General consensus is that starts getting really good in the mid twenties and only gets better from there on.
The first 2 episodes are also not that good and can be skipped, since they are an anime original intro, the 'real' start is episode 3.

I'm 48 episodes in Gintama I think, this was over the course of months lol; I just watched an episode randomly.

I've been enjoying it a lot. First episode alone proved it worth my time IIRC. My memory fades post the first episode but I do hear quite a few people say it is slow. I tend to think people say that because they've heightened expectations over the praise it gets but I don't know.

I think it entirely unreasonable to tell someone: "This show gets good after you've watched two anime seasons(25~) worth of it." This considering a ton of people in this thread seem to drop shows from 4 minutes into the first episode to 4 episodes.

Episode 25 and onwards is where the entire show become sublime.

Alright thanks, I'll stick to it or skip to those episodes if I'm feeling that way.

I can agree with this too, though I'll give it a fair chance before skipping episodes or dropping it.

Gintama is really an exception in this case. I haven't come even close to finishing the show, but everything after episode 25 has been some fantastic stuff.

I almost never laugh at anime comedies, but Gintama knows its stuff.

Gintama has 316 episodes though.

Kind of why I don't recommend im@s CG as much as I'd like to :(

I thought Chi's Sweet Adventure was incredibly boring. It is clearly aimed at very young children and it unfortunately did nothing for me. 12min per episode is also much too long for the contents the show presents. OP is awesome though.

Yeah, what others already said, the beginning is really slow. Add to that the episode 1+2 are anime only and not even good. The first ~20 episodes are basically only introduction to the various main characters and their various quirks. Starting with the Hot Pot episode (24...?) the show just becomes really good. Around episode ~40-50 you also get your first serious arc which shows a whole other side of Gintama.

But you really have to sit through the beginning. It probably took me longer to get through the first ~25 episodes than to get through the next 50-75.

Nice legs

Woah, this this is hot garbage. To be honest, I'm kinda tempted to keep watching it to see how bad it can get.

I think the most mind-blowing this is that someone felt we needed 24 episodes of this. And they somehow even announced a prequel OVA already.

Trickster cases have really been bottom of the barrel so far in terms of quality or complexity.

Edit-
Am looking for something new to watch , how is Mushishi and how does it compare to something like Natsume?

Haven't watched Natsume yet, but Mushishi has some really good story telling. Every story feels unique and I would definitely recommend watching a few episodes amd see for yourself.
One of my favourite series.

Watching Pointless and 'Japanese Animation' came up as one of the categories for the final round, but the contestants didn't pick it. Now I'll never know if I'd have got a Pointless answer with Akari Akaza as my answer.
