Remember kids, if you're a holocaust survivor and kill an active nazi (one so evil that even Hitler would tell him to tone it down), you're just as bad as a nazi.

hurr durr "hate begets hate"

someone else pointed this out, but reading uncanny avengers is essential to understand why rogue reacted that way.

rogue behaving poorly and straight up murdering scarlet witch because of what she did kinda sorta got the earth blown up and 7 billion people killed. time travel shenanigans were necessary to explain that maybe all the murder might not be a great thing and to find other solutions

keep in mind also that at that point magneto was immune to any telepathic nonsense and was beating the living shit out of red skull just because he could at that point. "tone it down" was probably justified, even for the red skull. Killing him unleashed onslaught and just made shit worse.

Oh God, did they?

Jean just cannot live it down. It's like she killed a planet full of Uncle Bens and Gwen Stacys

That was an awesome crossover though, I highly recommend it. The Trial of Jean Grey. That was easily the best thing Bendis has done with the Guardians.

That is a very interesting team. Although wtf at emo Dazzler?!

She's got her reasons for that grrrrr face

She was kidnapped, exploited to make mgh for months, all while Mystique took her place as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and fucked shit up in her name

hell no, he deserves every single bit of Magneto beating him to death

"The Trial of Jean Grey"...Yeah it was silly and even Oracle tried to talk sense into Gladiator...teen Jean had an awesome moment in the last issue though.

To continue my dislike of mutants not with Cyclops, I enjoyed this issue I just read where The Watcher completely shat on Beast for bringing the OG X-Men back under false pretenses, thus dooming mutants from having a good future.

"And you disgust me, Hank McCoy."

Cyclops wins again.

Major spoilers for anyone not reading X-comics currently.

Xavier and Mystique were married for some time before his death, he impregnated her, she gives birth (after his death) disguised as Moira McTaggert and gives their son up for adoption, he grows up to lead the Brotherhood of Evil, either during their marriage or shortly after giving birth goes back to her evil ways, and Xavier leaves everything to her in his will.

The X-Men comics are frustrating right now.

That's what happens when Bendis is in charge of an imprint.

Why the fuck is Magneto so buff?
Isn't he like 70+ years old?

He's been de-aged; cloned and had his consciousness transferred to the young body; had his age in his origin changed by various writers; and more recently
started taking hardcore drugs (mutant growth hormone, MGH) that exploit the very people he claims to protect
.

Edit: And if he was 12 in 1941, he'd be 85.

I can't disagree. And typically in his writing, this all takes place in the course of a month...which gets retconned into a week.

Comics, man.

The Watcher's best friend is The Blue Marvel, and he doesn't eve speak to him. But when the Watcher speaks to you, and to shit on you? You need to feel extra bad.

Its nice to see the X-men to finally come back together after all these years.

Also Rogue is a dumb fucking hypocritical bitch, and I hope she's the first to die in this event. #TeamMagneto

Everyone in that book is terrible and I want both Wanda and Alex to either get killed off or get the Cyclops treatment for killing Magneto or something.

Simple way to reboot the Marvel universe. They get sent back thanks to [insert deus ex machina] and Xavier prevents everything negative from ever happening till the present day.

It was ultra-contrived.

could you imagine if simon told him he wasnt shit from rogues mouth? he would either kill himself or go full dark beast

I think I may have to splurge on some comics for this, then. Been so long since I read any Jean stuff.

It's about when Bendis stopped even pretending that gotg was a book for anything other than being a tie-in for whatever event they wanted to push at the moment; angela, infinity, that

Bendis' GotG is drifting storywise in it's own book. It's a good thing that Guardians 3000 by Dan Abnett just came out with it's first issue last week.

Red Skull is beyond broken as a villain.

I mean people mention Joker as DC's counterpart, but there's always a slim chance Joker can be redeemed. And he's the foil for a hero who refuses to kill. But Skull is a villain for Captain America, Winter Soldier AND Magneto; three characters who will kill if they have to. His continued existence, even considering cloned bodies/mind swaps etc is beyond ludicrous.

So yes, Magneto is right here. 150% right. Red Skull is, as someone mentioned, so awful that even Hitler (in canon) is all 'dude, what the fuck?'

But Marvel seems intent on asserting that Charles Xavier was a saint and demonizing Cyclops - the guy who fought off the Phoenix possessing him (which he didn't ask for) longer than anyone else not Jean Grey or a clone of Jean Grey or an omega telepath possibly could.

Magneto wasn't justified in killing Red Skull? Er, he did cut out the brain of the man who he respected the most, before imprisoning Magneto and his daughter and what the hell that's actually pretty bad writing.

Anyways, I'm still looking forward to this, but my expectations have been lowered a little bit.

Is there a reason Skull is this big besides Because Comics?

Xavier Onslaught was that big. Probably because he was supposed to be a threat every superhero was going to gang up on. So visually he had to be big enough for that to happen. Plus, its more intimidating.

This all sounds pretty ridiculous in an awesome way. Might have to read this at some point.

Does bother me that the title looks like "SIXIS" to me though. Is it supposed to be read either way?

it's not supposed to look like SIXIS but that hasn't prevented comic-gaf from unofficially renaming the event as such.

Gonna be rough waiting until March for the collected edition of this ;_;

This will just be the stage for Xavier returning, won't it :/

I've been catching up on Uncanny Avengers in prep for this, just got to the part where Exitar destroyed the earth.

UCA is banarama so far.
