Not just the leaders, but in Dawnshore itself, there are at least 12 female NPCs who play a role, whether major or minor:
- Malthea Captain
- Militia Captain Cynric
- Merchant Dagherda
- Blacksmith Gweneth
- Liviana
- Lynna
- Merchant (Militia Headquarters)
- Merchant Liviana
- Merchant The Catch
- Marynna
- Merylin
- Dehengen

Try swinging a sword in KCD 2.
You will be SHOCKED.
People fighting for their lives will not fight like this. Skyrim’s basic swordplay feels miles better.
I know the game's director is asshat, but what are the woke elements that disturb people? I watched a few gameplay & dialogue clips, I didn't see the Veilguard situation.

No, no, no. Female NPCs as vendors are okay, but my problem is that most of the NPCs in are female.Well if you have a problem with female npc vendors and such then I don't know what to tell you.

Other than an (optional) toggle to show pronouns, no one's really shared anything that even comes close to touching the shadow of the whole Barv thing in Veilguard, which even I've said only detracted from an otherwise decent/good game.
It looks like overblown bs like how there were people who were convinced that Indiana Jones will have playable Gina segments because Indy will be incapacitated and treated like a secondary character or some such shit.![]()
Weren't people just assuming it'd be the case because The Outer Worlds was like that? There have been a few reports that women are unrealistically over-represented in leadership and/or quest-giving roles, to the point where an agenda seems apparent. On the other hand, there have also been several reports to the contrary. So who knows.
Nothing remotely resembling the Veilguard situation.
I know you’re not but you’ll be accused of lying. And in the city of Paradis none of them are running shit besides one. I'll see about the next area but the vast majority of shot callers in the City are men especially the ones dealing with the main quest. Am I lying?

Who's mad?Seems like a funny thing to be mad about. But what do I know.
I asked AI to provide me a breakdown of NPCs by gender in Dawnshore in Avowed:
- Female Human NPCs:
- Dehengen
- Concerned Mother
- Concerned Father
made me chuckle. it's listed as an NPC with that name on Fextralife. guessing that is where it pulled from.

to be fair Sanza sounds like a bitch nameThat list is jacked up. Has Sanza as a female and Militia Captain Cyrnric as a male

Look at this absolute fruitcake LMAO
The only thing I recall that was really overblown about Indiana Jones was the take one person here had that folks were going to freak out about a single lesbian character in the game. As far as I can tell no one gave a damn. First I'm hearing about this "Gina segments" stuff. Where was this "overblown" by people?
Placing bets that you have to play as another character at some point in the game, girl boss etc.
Well, you can already see the ugly women surrounding Indy in this trailer. You can bet they will outsmart him at everything and Indy will be the silly comedic relief when they are around.

I don’t mean that women should stay in the kitchen and raise children, but the ratio of women to men in important roles seems absurd to me, at least at the stage I'm currently at in the game. There should be some balance. Just entering the first major town is enough to see it.
Between that other forum where everything is a concern and has potential to get you banned, and this place where people count the number of women in games, is there a normal place left online to discuss gaming? Not asking for much, really.

Counting genders of NPCs...

Man I always thought review threads on neogaf were only funny when the game is abysmal like Concord or Redfall or masterpieces.
But DEI topics seems have to spring up an entirely new meta for these.
Not fair comparing it to a game from 2006...

according to Fextralife, the vast majority of villains/bad guys in Dawnfall are male, so the NPC count seems to skew in favor of men if you count all NPCsDoesn't look like "50/50" to me.

More proof that Bethesda should ditch the 20+ years of work they've done with the creation engine and use UE5
Gotta love youtube comments
"Todd Howard built this game in a CAVE! OUT OF SCRAP!"

I have no issue with the lead baddies being male
Amazing details in Elder Scrolls. So what's the combat like?
Its easy to laugh at Skyrim's combat when the game came out in 2011 and there were no other big open world rpg's with better combat on consoles
The combat was also hardly ever the draw of the TES games.
I was just being cheeky. "What little men we have in contrast, they're just evil."I have no issue with the lead baddies being male
I can probably count on one hand the amount of video games that had well written female antagonists
more often than not it just comes off as cringe
I'm more bummed that you can't kill NPCs
It’s never been a draw and never will be. It just needs to be serviceable. The combat was also hardly ever the draw of the TES games.
Weren't people just assuming it'd be the case because The Outer Worlds was like that?
Depends how you play it, thats why people love TES, not the combat. So the thing you do the most in it fucking sucks. Brilliant. Also this came out 5 years before Skyrim
