Batman: Arkham Knight - Review Thread

16 gigs is probably how much you need to download before you can launch it.

Yep.

That's the Play/Go portion, if you go to "Information" on the game tile, it'll show the rest of the game downloading.

It actually shows the same number. 16.600 GB

Weird..

Just saw the guys pic above this post.

Guess I'll have to wait until the download is complete to see that screen

You guys are acting like it isn't normal for AAA games to have their PC versions not get much press until the last minute. It is. Especially with WB. Even Witcher 3, a series with a heavy PC heritage, delayed sending out PC copies.

I'd wager their insistence to lock it down is the fact they can no longer exploit the youtuber market after Shadows of Mordor's PC "agreement" leaked.

Still no preloads yet is dumb, I don't see any reason for that. The game's data is encrypted and incomplete until release.

I'm ready for AK. By turning off HT I was able to boost my 920 OC to 4.1ghz stable. Only a modest increase going by benchmarks (Average 6-7FPS boost, some as high as 10-12), and temps are actually lower than when I was at 3.8 with HT.

Bring on Tuesday.

Honestly, the only reason I can see there not being a preload yet is Valve wanting to hold off until the end of the sale, since their servers always get hammered during sale. Having that + how many thousands of people downloading 50GB wouldn't help.

This is very true. The Witcher 3 Nvidia guide and driver for the game didn't drop until the Monday morning that the game released.

Oh nice, dude.

I cleared some space on my PS4.

Why did I have to buy retail? Even if there is a pre-load for PC, it'll do me no good. I am not gonna be able to play for at least 24 hours haha

That makes sense. Hopefully it's got streamplay on PC as well, I don't think I can do more than 16 gigs in 2 days.

I'm having tons of fun with this game now, the combat is great. More enemies, environmental takedowns, batmobile takedowns, fear multi-takedowns, better animations, ground-pound downed to keep multiplayer up. It feels so good to play.

Are there a lot of new enemy types for free flow/predator missions?

Kind of salivating for this right now.

So some gamestops might be selling this at 6 tommorrow? At least I thought I read this a few pages back.

Yeah. If there isn't a preload by tomorrow afternoon, then I think people can panic. I'm lucky in that it will only take me about an hour to download 50GB, but I know a lot of folks aren't able to.

Is there confirmation that A Matter of Family will be playable on Day 1? The patch notes seem to indicate that this particular DLC is downloaded with the patch, but it might not be unlocked on Day 1.

I really like how you have your categories set up. Tempted to do the same, now.

Hah! At first the categories were action, adventure, platformer...etc, but so many games cant be listed under just one category and my OCD just wouldn't allow it. So I just said fuck it. Lemme make each series a category on its own.

Getting the same way for me, and I have even fewer categories at the moment.

PS: You misspelled Deus Ex in your category.

Ended up snagging the premium edition (game + season pass) for around $35 from G2Play, received the code as well. Now to wait.

Also, word of warning: avoid the Steam community forum for the game, it's a hellhole riddled with spoilers.
I would be super careful with purchasing from G2A. Many people have gotten their keys revoked from getting it there. Happened to plenty of people for GTA V.

To people on the thread who wondered, I can confirm that my local Gamestops (San Diego) are selling the game at 9pm tomorrow. Few hours earlier than a midnight launch, but it won't do working people much good.

I can't wait to play this on Tuesday! I am not too worried about the lack of preload on Steam, as my internet is fast enough to download this within about 2hrs. The preloads always take up twice as much space anyway, so its not really worth it when factoring in download time and decryption. I hope it runs well on my GTX970, at least 1080p 60FPS with everything maxed minus dumb nVidia GameWorks effects.
