The director can't say exactly how the relationship between the two superheroes evolves, "but suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names" in the movie title", Snyder says. He explains that having the "v" instead of "vs." is a way "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."

It is not straigth up versus movie

So it's not Batman VS Superman then? What the actual fuck.

Oh well, now I know for sure I'm not seeing this turd.

Think about it this way: instead of missing an S, the V in the tittle is the upper half of an X. So it's Batman X Superman.

When you add Wonder Woman and Aquaman, you get three Xs. So in a sense, the movie is its own porn parody.

They still should've saved the part where they work together for the film rather than show it here.

It would be like showing Iron Man and Captain America having worked things out at the end of a Civil War trailer, it deflates all the tension.

Yes we know they will reconcile, but we don't want to see it until we're in the theatres.

Another example, it would be like showing the heroes of Force Awakens getting medals for saving the day in a trailer, sure we know the good guys will probably win but don't show us.

The problem for me is that it shows all the big action pieces, explains why they're fighting and that in all likliehood, they don't actually conclude the fight.

Does that spoil the whole plot? Yeah, kind of.

lol

I like how this is the moment Snyder choose to finally be "subtle" about something in his movies.

Also, that's so stupid and not how it works.

It's a grenade launcher with sticky bombs.

I think people forget that Batman hates guns... not everything shaped like a gun.

It has an easy firing form... and gives ton of velocity.

Or in other words...

Does it matter?

Everyone knows Batman is against firearms in every way, and yet he's in this really critical publicity shot holding what most people will think is a rifle.

You don't show Batman in that kind of light. He doesn't need to be holding a gun in that shot.
Batman solves problems with intellect, not guns. It just makes him look weak.

Except the part where Batman is holding a gun.

Batman has used guns/projectile weapons a lot in his 75 year history across his various incarnations. Not to kill bad guys mind you, but when fighting super-powered beings or for neutralization purposes (rubber bullets)? Absolutely.

Did you skip over the image with Batman using a "gun" in comics, movies and video games?

It's not a new image.. I mean... as long as not shooting live ammo

You seriously thought the entire film was going to centre around Batman vs Superman? They're not natural enemies, it was always going to result in them joining forces.
I guess most people don't. I didn't. I was interested in how it will be resolved though. But not in a trailer. I feel like the whole tension has been taken out, yeah they will have an epic fight but we basically know how it will end now. Not just assuming how, but we know exactly when, how and why.

Again, does it matter?

Show me a comic shot of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman posing for a shot with Batman holding a gun.

Never ever happened. Never.

As usual the mark zuckerberg actor sucks and ruins every scene he's in.

Film looked great until wonder woman? Pops up with a sword and shield, thought it looked out of place and silly.

But he does solve problems with gun-like gadgets

Maybe read a comic book once in a while and it won't seem out of character. He doesn't hate the shape of guns, just guns themselves.

Reaching.

If doomsday is act 3 then they definitely showed too much.

Is it a big deal that a character who's been in every iteration holding a gun shaped weapon be in this iteration holding a gun shaped weapon? No lol. It's almost like there's this massive precedent for him doing this and if you don't get that, then maybe you don't understand his character as well as you think you might....

Yeah I think you guys are just fanboying way too hard for this movie to understand the source of Batman's real power.

If you guys want him looking like a gun wielding maniac, Zack Snyder's got your back.
This movie is going to be an absolute atrocity given the direction of the trailers.

For real guys what would Batman do to Doomsday without a gun? Punch him with his fists? Throw a batarang?

Use his intellect. Find out how Doomsday was made and create a solution.

Brute force is left to Superman and Wonder Woman. They are just distraction.

Except for when he shot Darkseid with a time-bullet. So I guess it did happen.

Not to mention guns/rockets mounted onto his vehicles.

Yeah, "fanboying" or, realizing this is in line with the 75 years of his history... do a quick google search, it's not hard.

Edit: Using derogatory comments like "fanboying" really is unnecessary and doesn't add anything to the collective discussion.

The entire point of Doomsday is that he's an unstoppable force that can't be reasoned with. That's why Batman didn't come anywhere near him in the original DOS storyline, because he would have gotten squashed. At best he can defend himself and try not to die.

I guess he's just following in the footsteps of Nolan and Rocksteady and Miller

That gadget in the BvS trailer is the same kind of gadget that Bale Batman used in The Dark Knight: a sticky bomb launcher
