I think it was a beautiful film, but the story...

Maybe it'll be like Inception. I hated that at first, but it grows on me. Like a parasite.

Haha, doubtful. The story never makes much sense. Zack Snyder's knack for having the thought but failing to let the audience know what it is shines here more so than any other movie he's made.

The story in Sucker Punch wasnt hard to follow. That was its main problem. It was as subtle as a brick to your head which made it insufferable.

But it was, as said, nice to look at.

Props to Snyder at least - he cast some beautiful actresses, had them wearing little, but it never seemed particularly 'sexy' and they weren't shot particularly glamorously.

Just notice this today. The Reel Rejects on youtube who are a couple of guys or girl sometimes make reaction videos and they did one for Superman V Batman. Their comments are vaild but the funny thing is they received so much hate they had to make a response video of their reaction video

Dam, this look dumb. I also don't buy Affleck as Bruce, as Bats he seems to be ok.

That's one of the things i liked about the trailer. Ben as Bruce and Batman.

Watching the trailer again it really highlights how bad the doomsday part of is. The trailer wasn't really good to begin with (music and lame jokes) but that last part completely undermines everything set up it the first.
Seeing Batman and Superman clash should be the main focus of the marketing ( I would say it should also be the main focus of the film) and know it seems like a after thought.

It's a difference of opinion and nothing about being mad for no reason. I didn't like the Affleck casting as his face annoys me. Yet in the trailers he has managed to at least make me think yeah I will give him a chance. Eisenberg as others have said can only act as himself. What some people don't understand is 99% of the people moaning are fans and will still see the movie. They moan etc because they hoped for better (in their opinion). For me I liked the first two trailers but the 3rd has lowered my hype big time.

Which is the part I will never understand.

If you're cautiously optimistic or have some reservations, okay. I get that. But if you have no hope of this movie being enjoyable for you, why not just stay your ass home and not see it? Like.....wtf? lol

Also, what is Batman doing saying shit like "It's time you learned what it means to be a man"?

Goofy, gritty writing. Fuck that.

What's the problem with that line? I think it refers to man in the sense human, not as male or adult. Xenophobic Batman doesn't know that Superman grew up as a human, he only sees the alien, the foreign that crossed over illegally and could endanger the lives of americans.

To be fair...MoS supes can hardly be said to have been raised as a human. Pa Kent essentially turned him into some kind of super powered wanderer with no emotional connection or motivation to protect anyone. (Besides his mother).

Fortunately young Clark was a mischievous kid and ended up not listening to Pa Kent's advises; he still went out of his way to save people's life, even if that meant blowing his cover.

Considering that he talks about how the "son of a bitch brought the war to us", and says "alien" with a hint of distain during their talk, I'd say Bruce only sees Superman as a dangerous extraterrestrial threat, not as a human

So more what "it means to be human". As in bringing him down to to the level of a mortal. I suspect Kryptonite is involved

My point was what Batman thinks. he only sees the alien, the xeno. That's why he gives the line about learning about becoming a man. Like feeling pain, being humbled like those poor creatures he saves. It's goes in motion with the bleeding line.

Now that is a much better line.

Or if the line is used in the context of de-powering Superman temporarily, like you suggest.

It just sounds, out of context, like gritty speak.

Regardless of DC/Marvel fanboy-ism, the consensus seems to be that Warner Bros showed off just way too much in this trailer.

That really really depends on how much they actually have. Without knowing that no one can really say. Maybe they did. Maybe they didn't.

Kind of obvious really. Some people like to act a little over the top so they get attention. This isn't just the people moaning it happens on both sides.

Acting over the top, I get. We all do it.

But spending your own hard earned money to go see a movie you are pretty much guaranteed to not enjoy is a concept I will never understand. It's just really dumb to me.

it's easier to get entertainment of discussing it online after actually seeing it

How else will they be able to argue about how stupid the movie is if they don't see it?

I meant acting over the top in the way they feel. As in saying BvS is the shittest looking film ever (or something like it) then ranting for ages. But really thinking it looks bad but I will give it a go. End of the day it is all about opinions, 99% of us our fans and want to see the film be good.

I myself don't really have that much hype for the film, but being a Superman and Batman fan I am still going to see it. I hope it changes my mind.

Not going to spend money, not after this trailer, I am not. As a DC fan I am going to keep a lookout for how this progresses and how people react after release. Since I doubt that it's randomly getting different in my favour I probably see it in a few years on Netflix or something.

I guess some people care more about keeping up with the online Joneses than me.

This view I understand because you at least have some hope for it. But there are peoplw who have like nothing shown for the last three years who are still like "There opening weekend."

I just wish fanbases valued their time and money a little more, I guess. It's cool to be a fan, but don't be a sucker.

You get it.

Sucker Punch is an awesome movie. A straight live action anime. I think it would've been a classic had it released anytime before internet culture kicked in and everyone became a critic.

A lot of people didn't understand it though. Never looked past the surface. SP was one of those movies I stumbled across on cable and kept coming back to because of how interesting it was visually. Paid a little more attention on each watch and started to get the hint that there was more to it than just the eye candy and a cool soundtrack, which was already enough for me.

Well I can definitely say that the film looks like it's doing it's own thing. I can kind of respect taking characters in different directions, but that Lex Luthor performance looks terrible. as of right now that doesn't seem like the kind of character that would become the nemesis of Superman.

I don't think Eisenberg is going to be the surprise payoff of "WTF" casting that it may have seemed at first.

Rest of the film looks kind of unremarkable, and has all of that Snyder flair, for better and worse. Definitely more interested in Suicide Squad so far.

It certainly gives that impression, no one can say for sure without having actually seen the movie. I don't really care if Doomsday is spoiled because I want to see them fight him, and if he's anything like the comics, he's not going to go down without some crazy shit happening. We've also seen enough from the trailers to gather that the Batman vs Superman fight is going to be extensive. The conflict between the two will be real, it's not like they flat out lied about them fighting. Other then that I suppose the Eisenberg criticisms can stick, even though we've only heard maybe less than 30 seconds of audio clips to him, mostly one liners taken out of context.

Also don't get the people that have written off the movie if they liked the SDCC trailers and not this one. You only have to look at all of Snyder's movies to this point to really decide which trailer is more accurate to what he's doing.

Sucker Punch is trash.

It's just a trailer after all, but it's hard to expect something great now that I've seen it. Snyder isn't a good story teller, but I still hope this won't be just another try hard visual extravaganza.

I'll see you in the BvS OT.

I just saw the second trailer to this before a movie last night.. man, that was just so much better than this piece of crap. It's probably one of the few trailers I've ever seen that has made me completely turn off from a movie.

The gun he's holding at the end is a grenade/stickybomb launcher.

I didn't see MoS in theater either, not until Blu-ray. No interest in Mahvel anymore. I couldn't miss this one if I tried. The hype will get you. The next trailer will probably get you.
Nah, I'm very confident in my resistance since I successfully stopped buying DC comics during the Conversion. The only things that would hit me hard were a proper Secret Six movie with Gail Simone on the staff and a Renee Montoya Question movie.

This was a terrible decision. Since Conversion DC's been putting out their best stuff in years.

Does this not imply you're resisting simply to resist rather than being cautiously optimistic?

I guess it all seems kind of silly to me. All these conversations. I'm fine with having them but in the end these are just movies. You pay your $10 or whatever it is and maybe you'll like it and maybe you won't. Oh well, on to the next movie to start the cycle all over again.

I'm only curious to see how the conversation adjusts once Batman v Superman is out and the road ahead is Suicide Squad. Past that on to Wonder Woman and how things look going into Justice League.

Though I have a feeling it'll just be the same nonsense over and over again. If that ends up being true I will likely stop coming to these threads. I can only have the same conversation so many times.

Looks like a fun movie to me, I don't take these kinds of movies too seriously. I have to wonder, though, what they were going for with Lex here. That actor just isn't doing it for me, so out of place and weird.
