The more I see of this, the more I hope it's a colossal failure and WV are forced to completely reboot and rethink their approach to superhero movies.

I mean it's like this is from a nightmarish alternate universe where The Incredible Hulk was more successful and influential than Ironman, where lame grim dark actually works as the underpinnings for all superhero movies. The kind of universe where the relative success, critical reception and public adoration of Guardians of the Galaxy and Fant4stic are reversed.

It just looks so miserable and lame and the kind of superhero movie some edgy and overly emotional 13 year old would come up with.

Essentially, WB isn't going the Marvel route with shallow humor and bright colors (not that there's anything wrong with what Marvel's doing) so you want this movie to fail and kill any hope fans have for future movies? Sounds like something an edgy, overly emotional 13 year-old would come up with.

I think the "Do you bleed...you will comment" was because Superman just flew away without exchanging insurance information. Bruce Wayne probably has much better lawyers than Clark Kent.

He is pretty much telling Superman that he'll see him in court. That's when Superman V Batman will truly kick off....

That's because it bounces off superman. ..changing its course.

He kicks it to the right, it ends up crashing to his right behind him. But he had already turned around, so at that point it is to his left. Nothing wrong with it.

Psychopath opinion much? Prepare yourself for a very rude awakening.

Fact: BvS is the most hated thing on this forum since the ps3 early days.
The contrast between it and any marvel related thread is so bizarre and so so transparent, I personally put any drive-by shitposter on my ignore list, literally every bvs and suicide squad page is greyed out with ignored posts for me, yet when I enter any marvel movie thread for fun I usually see the same posters gloating and praising the most mundane (to me) shit.
Like I get your agenda it's ok, gaf will live on if you don't leave your daily important opinion on WW tunic or that Henry Cavil smile bothers you.
The facts are: movie is more anticipated than captain america this year by the public, original trailer is about 60 million views on youtube, batman and superman brand names will forever be more known in the pop culture than any marvel characters aside from spiderman, a billion dollar box office is a lock and we will see more DC movies in the coming years. Like it or not at the end of the day you and or your wives opinion just don't matter that much when a lot of people are genuinely excited for it.

Lol come on. Its a crazy post, but you sound equally agitated. A ton of people are excited for this movie, because - its fucking batman and superman. It could be dogshit and make a ton of money.

I thought the first Superman was terrible, it got mediocre reviews and it made money. People are reacting to the quality of this, and whether you like it or not, there are a ton of people on this forum who are very skeptical about how this film will turnout. The film podcast I listen to doesn't even cover comic book films, and has trashed every trailer for this movie. So don't handwave away real criticisms as fanboyism, but more importantly I guess - not sure what your point is? Is it that negative opinions don't matter because its going to make a ton of money? I mean okay?

Also, a billion dollar lock is bold, considering I think this movie is going to get absolutely savaged by reviewers based on what we've seen and Snyder's track record

It could get savaged by critics (I don't think it will), it's still doing a billion.

So, you think Batman v Superman whose script has been nothing but praised both by people involved and those who have seen it (even the known Marvel fanboy Faraci), that is on every Top 10 movies to see in 2016 list, that is a follow up to a highly divisive Superman movie (that made more than every pre-Avengers movie) and also presents you with a new veteran Batman (a character who has proven to do a billion in his own solo movies), with the first live action cinematic appearance of the most well known female superhero, and is setting up the DC cinematic universe leading into yet another highly anticipated movie (Suicide Squad) will have trouble making a billion dollars?

Legit laughed out loud at the bolded. I don't care about pre-release stuff and I reeaally don't care about the super-hero pre-release industry that has boomed in past years.

I do think it will do numbers, and it probably will do a billion, but I find it hard to call something like that a lock when something like only 20 films have hit that. But you're right, it probably will, and looking over the list of films that have hit a billi, I can def see this doing it.

You give me anecdotal evidence about some podcast you listen to and you seem certain with every fiber of your body that the movie will get savaged by reviewers and won't make bank = that's real unibiased criticism according to you? Yeah lol, okay.
My point is what is is: there is an agenda at work concerning this movie on this forum since it was announced. Now people overanalyse camera angles and characters motivations in 30 seconds ads, its absolutely insane and I have never seen anything like it. There is just no way to have actual discussion when 4/5 posts are intended with malice, they simply want it to fail for their own amusement and it's so easy to notice thanks to post histories.

Dude are you just a marketing piece for this film or do you have a legit problem with people thinking this film looks like shit? Its not our fault the marketing so far has been horrible, nor is it our fault they keep releasing footage that paints the film in a negative light. You may like what they are doing, and thats great, but just the response in this thread should tell you a lot of people are getting really negative vibes about this film. I'm saying this as someone who hated both Avenger films and found Man of Steel semi-interesting. This film just looks bad. Between corny lines, bad CGI, a pointless "Batmans vs Superman" tag that everyone and their dog knows is just a cover for "they'll fight a bit then redirect towards a big bad, oh and if you didnt know that we'll spoil that for you too in a trailer".

I don't think my criticism is unbiased. It's just honest - I'm not a Marvel fanboy and I don't care about comic books, and I think it looks bad. I can't predict the future, and I can't speak "objectively" for how critics will think about a movie based on what we've seen. What I do know is that Zach Snyder movies don't review well generally, especially recently, but that could totally change, who knows.

I do think its absolutely, crazytown absurd to think that there's some sort of agenda against this movie, you need to chill with the tinfoil. There's no malice man.

edit: I do think it will make serious money by the way, I've never said otherwise.

Faraci is definitely a Marvel fanboy, true, but where has he been particularly positive about the BvS script?

You realize that what you said is just the reverse of what I said, right? And no, I don't care who doesn't like the movie. I only care enough to question weird statements made about the movie on an Internet forum.

He's mentioned it on his Twitter. Where I couldn't tell you because I only saw it when he brought it up and haven't thought about it since until now.

It could get savaged by critics (I don't think it will), it's still doing a billion.

If anyone cared about critcs, Mad Max would be at 1 billion.

This is Superman. This is Batman. And there is also Wonder Woman.

Three biggest heroes ever. (Well, Spider-Man ist up there too.)

I don't know who that dude is, and after this discussion I'll go back to not caring about who this person is, but just for the record but he said its "ok".

Hilarious. Thank you for this post.

Claiming GAF is pro-MCU and anti-Sony consoles. It's like we read opposite GAFs. Next thing you'll claim is that GAF leans conservative.

But I agree with you on BvS being a lock for $1B. Moving the movie to March was smart.

Incredible post

Proof that shit posts aren't exclusive to people who dislike the marketing of this movie

Nah. Gaf leans
slightly
more towards..... Sony consoles and has more MCU fans. But this isn't the time for that.

Gamers leaned heavily towards Xbox in the early PS3 days. Just like Marvel against DC right now.

Sony's turned the tables with the PS4. The same could happen with this DCEU/MCU thing since Marvel's simply found a niche more than they've actually put out good movies.

Old rumor, possible spoiler?
Remember, there was a rumor the movie would end with the Trinity teaming up to take out an army of drones created by Lex.

Maybe but that's not exactly new. Going by that metric AoU was retro because it was just a reskinned battle from the first movie.

Take the Suicide Squad "First Look" footage, for example. That was meant to be shown only to the diehards at SDCC. It wasn't cut for a general audience. I expect the last couple of trailers for SS to take a light hearted approach.

I really hope the leak about
the whole trailer being set to Bohemian Rhapsody
is true. Nothing says fun like that song.

It's like some people confuse the last action sequence (which we don't even know if that's true) with the actual ending. Are you worried Doomsday will fall over and then roll credits?

?? They team up and boulder face gets beat, could it be more forecasted?

IconGrist

Ok? That still doesn't mean that's the end of the movie. Things happened after Superman beat Zod, or the Avengers beat Ultron, or just about any good guy beating the bad guy in any movie ever. Has this been a consistent problem for you in your history of movie viewing?

Dcube

I don't think Doomsday is gonna be the end. Call it a hunch, but I think it's just a cog in a greater plan Lex has going and is just an excuse to show off Wonder Woman. I'm thinking she mostly kicks its ass while Lex plays out some greater plan he set in motion much earlier. Regardless how it plays out though I'll just be happy to see that sweet, sweet face melting action.

People didn't seem to have an issue with The Avengers having the entire movie shown in every trailer

Hmm. I hate trailers that show a lot. With both Avengers movies i did not get the impression i knew the whole plot. With bvs i do....

I do think the Avengers trailer gave away set pieces, but not really the plot. I could ve wrong with bvs, we shall see.

Really Ultron pretty much spelled out the whole movie in its first trailer.

I'd be interested to know what you listen to because the AMC/Collider crew have been gushing about it since it was announced. (they cover comic book movies a lot)

Most the behind of the scenes critics have done nothing but praised the script and acting. We're hearing rumblings about how amazing Affleck is, and a few notable insiders saying WW might steal the show... the actual buzz is between solid and positive so far.

And you're on your own here if you think it isn't all but a lock to hit 1B. Quality barely has (it's there but not as much as you'd like) a correlation to box office results. Transformers 4 didn't hit 1B with quality... Batman carries a metric tonne of marketing weight. WB is also going to jam so much marketing down people's throats to (why wouldn't they).

I always wondered what he meant by retro.

Guessing, but maybe he means to say AOU has similar beats to BVS so it will feel old by comparison.

Take the Suicide Squad "First Look" footage, for example. That was meant to be shown only to the diehards at SDCC. It wasn't cut for a general audience. I expect the last couple of trailers for SS to take a light hearted approach.

They are, I'm fairly certain Ayer came out and pretty much said that.

The way Affleck delivers the "You will" line. LOL I've seen cosplayers more convincing.

Depends what the goal is... if he's try to be indifferent or un-phased then that's what you'd expect from his delivery.
