Dragon Age: The Veilguard impression video: Full-blown God of War action meets Guardians of the Galaxy story tone

I’d like to know about the story he says it’s light hearted but I don’t know. The whole thing continues off that mage teammate continuing to fuck things up.

The combat actually looked decent at the end. People forget DA2 did a similar thing with the heavy action combat.

Didn't know Nick Diaz was in the game?

This is how you know DA2 was not a fluke, it was made on purpose. It's like they thought they failed with the first game.
Yep, DA2 sucked. It had the general atmosphere but everything else was abysmal. Especially the combat encounters were terrible.

F-ng EA :(.

Looking forward to the final nail in the coffin for BioWare. They have been irrelevant for like 10 years now. The original Dragon Age and Mass Effect talent are long gone.
At the end of the day, EA is to blame for the direction BioWare went. This is their monstrosity now. Just add it to the pile.

I wish I could be excited for this but nothing about it appeals to me …not even this guys ‘thin coat of paint’ word play.

Dragon Age Inquisition doing well sales wise was the worst thing that could have happened to this franchise. If it had bombed review wise like DA2 did, they might have felt forced to return the gameplay back to Origins which made the franchise popular in the first place. Instead, they have doubled down on the bad decisions they made with Inquisition's tone and gameplay.

Yup. Unfortunately DA:I came out before W3, which obliterated the faux-MMO. If DA:I came put a year later than it did it would have been way less popular.

- God of War - Deep and epic combat. :messenger_horns::messenger_smiling_hearts::messenger_horns:
- Guardians of the Galaxy - Marvel formula, 80% jokes, 20 drama. :pie_astonished::pie_dfws::pie_frowning:
- Purple tones all over the place.:devilish:💁‍♂️
= I don't care about it at all. 👋

the more I hear about this game, the less I want it. I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I guess I am going to pass after seeing that last video where the uploader stated that only three things carry over from inquistion and nothign from the other games. The one thing I was most curious about was how it would all tie together and end whatever story they have been setting up, but nope.

Topliked comments for the vid are brutal af:
Why even have dragon age keep? They built that system so that they could easily port choices into future games...

I can't unsee the big heads. I can't take the game seriously at all at this point. The art style looks like a Dream Works movie, the heads are big, and now you're saying the dialogue is like GOTG.

As a long time dragon age fan I feel betrayed, traded in for another, a new audience.

i made my peace with the DA series being over like 5 years ago. and now we get this game and it feels like just another bad Netflix adaptation of a once-beloved franchise.

amazing that origins was really the peak of dragon age.

I just can't get over how much this looks like an upscaled mobile game, UI nightmares and all.
Just a small sample of how ur actual potential buyers think, not that mythical unicorn "modern audience" ;)

Edit: And then ppl wonder why the game doesnt have denuvo(aka devstudio doesnt need to pay 25k usd/month for it;p)- no1 sane on pc even feels like playing it for free aka pirating, game is simply so bad it isnt worth our time for free :p

The amount of purple in this game is alarming.
The Office Thank You GIF

There was something I just couldn't articulate about the visuals that was driving me mad.... this.... this is it, right here!!

Honetly, I don't even understand who this game is for. What kind of broken studio culture must Bioware have to think that making a game in a longstanding series that is nothing at all like it's previous games will resonate with old and new fans? You make a game for everyone and end up with a game for no one.

I honestly think Bioware is done for after this bombs. EA will gut them like a fish at a BBQ.

Because going this picture alone, there's the sales potential of Fortnite or mobile gamers buying DA. And those gamers outnumber legacy DA fans.

Successful mobile games departed from that many years ago. Besides, that's not DA's audience, those people won't buy this game anyway, so they can't outnumber legacy fans. That potential is imaginary, as sales will prove again.

This is another example of narcissistic projecting on the creator's part, making a game only for themselves.

I especially hate how cynical they are by changing the franchise tone under the guise of making something more "light-hearted". It's the same mindset that has sunk the MCU.
