I meant what do those people want out of the movie. I agree with the most recent trailers being edited poorly, but we have people seemingly wanting the movie to do badly for their own entertainment.
No one wants this? A lot of people are thinking this when the truth is... Most people don't care that much?

I just think this movies looks dumb as hell.

People want a good batman, but want in one hand and shit in the other. I'm still wanting but I'm seeing shit because Hollywood sucks

who would want a movie with batman, superman and wonder woman in it to do poorly?

I expect the movie to be mediocre, but I sure as hell don't want it to be the case :(

Whole lotta people want this movie to fail, even though it literally can't they hope to see it flop.

After man of steel a lot of people already hate and bash on the 'dccu' , "This batman isn't my nolan dark knight" "Man of Steel was garbage this will be too" " Wonder woman and the rest make this crowded"

There's a lot who do want this to fail because everything has been supposedly 'rubbing people the wrong way' since the beginning.

I don't really care but I think it's pretty funny how there's outrage and nitpicking over so much BvS footage and trailers.

Pretty much.

I just hate the "if you don't like it, guess you're a marvel dude"

I don't give a fuck about comics and think this looks juvenile in the worst ways possible. The movie podcast I listen to doesn't care about comics and had a similar opinion.

I'm actually hoping it's awesome, but to me it looks like it's the dumbest parts of a 6th graders take on what batman v superman should look like.

Based on what? I really don't understand this victimization I see in all these threads. Most people don't care one way or another and are just reacting to what they see. If you think that there's a massive group of people actively rooting for a film to fail, I'm not sure what to tell you?

I think you guys should've a little more faith. They didn't take three years to make a shit movie.

Why do people WANT this movie to fail?

If the answer is "Marvel" then that's a dumb one because BVS being a huge hit helps Marvel a lot because it keeps the super hero train rolling for them. BvS being a flop actually does hurt Marvel because the general audience is likely to be put into super hero fatigue.

At this point the only people who I see wanting this movie to fail are people who are probably sick of seeing super hero movies in general. BvS failing would actually be pretty good for them because it means that the DCCU would be in a lot of trouble if this one fails to deliver though even that reasoning is sketchy considering new DCCU movies are still on the horizon.

I want this film to be amazing. Genuinely. It doesn't benefit anyone for it to fall flat on its face. Even if I were a Marvel fanboy, and I'm quite the opposite, competition would mean better movies for all.

But the more I see of this film the more worried I get. The film would have to do a 180 on all of my expectations; "Oh wow, that's a really cool take on Lex Luthor", "Cool, that final fight sequence was perfect", "Awesome, that Batman line really sounded badass in the film", "Great, the film doesn't look like a CG-fest" (etc). It can, I hope it does, but I don't expect it to.

I hope it's a good movie.

I think you have too much faith. Look at all the crappy super hero movies.

Like in the last 5 or so years, I haven't watched one crappy super hero movie. I am talking Green Lanter, DareDevil or Catwoman.

They're all decent, some better, some worse, but never truly awful. IMO.

I don't think it will fail necessarily, but surely you realise that production time has no bearing on a film's quality whatsoever?

It can have a good impact but also bad impact on the movie.

I thought Man of Steel was awful.
There have been some Marvel films I reaaaally didn't like either.

all those images of batman posted just proved my point. the exposed chin just looks goofy in live action no matter what. sorry that humans don't have the square ass chins they draw in the comics and cartoons.

That is what I added the "IMO". I though MoS is good, with some dumb scenes. Anyways, you guys can dislike whatever you want, for me, this movie is something special and I guess for many others too.

I'm not trying to convince you or ruin you're fun- if you're hype for it that's awesome. Just annoying when people discredit opposing opinions as "wanting the movie to fail" or some shit. At some point, I don't think the criticism means that people want the film to fail, but rather that the trailers aren't inspiring confidence with those people.

Exactly. I think most of us are being objective when watching these trailers. I may speak for myself but if it looks bad, it looks bad. There's irony is labeling any criticism as "Marvel fanboys" when a bunch of yall already decided to love this movie even before watching the final product.

I don't think anyone ever goes into a movie hoping it's bad. That makes no sense. Why would we want to pay and not be entertained?

Lol. You can't be objective as a human being with things you can't measure.

I wish we could say that, there's a few professional critics that will be reviewing this movie that have already penned articles with headlines like "This is why the DCCU is going to fail miserably" You're supposed to go into the film with an open mind but unfortunately, it doesn't happen sometimes.

Hell, how many of those Man of Steel reviews graded that movie lower just because it wasn't Donner's Superman and it was a different take. Something that should never come into the equation, especially if it's a re-telling. You should go in with a blank slate.

Fat-batfleck >> this mouth-gaping dumbass.

Lol, I loved those movies... so that goes to show where nit picking gets us.

I don't think most reviewers are as invested as you think they are. I think this movie will be savaged by reviewers tho.

I hope, only if it deserves to be.

One sentence drive-by posts doesn't seem objective to me.

The thing is people already made up their minds regarding this movie, so why keep coming back to post the same garbage every post. I wasn't impressed by the civil war trailer and you don't see me posting about it in every civil war thread, simply because I just don't care about the movie that much, so why should bother shitting up threads for others that do care?

Every single thread about this movie has gotten excessive hate. Casting news, trailers, rumours threads. And most of them are filled with drive-by shit posts, there's barely any discussion. So that objective thing I just don't buy.

Basically you want people who don't like the movie to stop posting?
I dunno, for myself- I think it looks terrible, but I'm still gonna watch it. I'm almost confused at these trailers and TV spots, because I sort of enjoyed the first trailer. Since then I think they've gotten progressively worse. Not sure what else there is to discuss considering we have like 7 minutes of footage to talk about.

You know, no one takes issue with people who are willing to explain what they don't like. To actually have a conversation. If you like what you see or hate what you see I want to hear about it. I want to have a conversation about it. I want to see your point of view and maybe have you see mine. Maybe you change my opinion or maybe I change yours. Who's to say?

What the problem is (and where the complaints from BvS/SS threads comes from) is that the amount of shitposting far exceeds those found in other CBM threads. And I mean shit posts. Not legit criticism posts. There's a difference.

And it's a problem on both ends so it's not like anyone ignores that. Saying "Based Snyder da gawd" is just as worthless as "lol the DCEU is so fucked".

People are free to post what they want obviously but if your only contribution in every thread of this movie is "lol rushed", "lol forced", "lol Cera", "lol balding", "lol fat", "lol skinny", "lol DC" then, yes, it can be really irritating to those of us who just want to have a conversation with other people than just the regulars in the dedicated thread in Community. But we can't because every thread on BvS in OT (go ahead, find me one that doesn't) ends up with just pages and pages of irredeemable garbage posting.

Those 7 minutes of footage are agurably the most important 7 minutes to put out. It's doing great for most and plenty of others, but if it doesn't strike well with someone else, then that's all there is to it. The whole point of the footage is to convince it persuade someone into seeing the movie. At the very least, even if he thinks it looks bad, it has PBY interested in the movie and seeing it.

It took five to make Dark Knight Rises. I wouldn't call DKR shit, but I would call it bad.

It doesn't matter how long it takes to make a movie, it could easily still be bad.

This is the entire purpose that trailers exist. To help you decide if you want to see the movie the trailer is about or not. What do you think they're for if not to judge if you want to see the movie or not?

Why? You already know what it is.

Huh? It'll be very clear that Batman is Bruce Wayne in the film, I don't think the viewers are going to go "hey, his voice sounds different, please hammer me over the head with some exposition about why that is"

Arrow had a voice modulator, and I' don't think they ever came out and said thats what he had, and I never heard 1 person who watches the show confused by it. You're acting like people have never heard a real human voice before. Are you worried people are going to think he's a robot or a heavy smoker? I don't know why this would need to be explained or even discussed.

Because this isn't a cartoon. And this Batman wears a cloth suit so he doesn't seem all techy like the suit in TDK. The voice is silly as hell. Sillier than Bales bat growl.

Pretty sure BVS was complete last year and they delayed it so that it comes out closer to the Justice League and the other DCCU movies. They are hoping that BvS is a success and they have movies already in the pipeline to capitalize on that success.

So I don't think the time of production has any indication on its quality when it was really a 2 year long production.

The main thing is that WB NEEDS this movie to be a huge success because they are going all in with the DCCU.

BvS is going to surprise people. It won't win over everybody, and some will probably have issues with the handling of the story or Snyder's direction, but it's going to be a good time, improve upon the flaws in MoS, and get people excited for what's to come.

Some of you must be suffering from whiplash given the ever-changing reactions to Batfleck.

"TOO FAT!!!!!!!"
"AWESOME SUIT!!!!"
"FAT FLECK!!!!"
"LOOKS LIKE A BEAST!!!!"
"OMG DOUBLE CHIN!!!"

:p

You saw the movie? Not asking to be a dick just an honest question.

In any case I think the general audience is expecting the movie to be good. Up until the 2nd trailer the buzz around the movie was extremely positive. It's once they unveiled Doomsday that people started to be negative on the movie. And I am also in the trailer 1 > trailer 2 camp.

Another issue with this marketing is that it seems to be VERY reactive to online critcism.

First trailer comes out... some people complain it's too serious and grim dark plus they don't see how Luther poses a threat to either of them or how WW fits into it.

2nd trailer they added more jokes and showed the Doomsday reveal to make it obvious to people that it's not focusig on BVS anymore and that WW is there to also fight Doomsday. Now people complain that t's too much Dawn of Justice and not enough BvS with too much Marvel style jokes.

Now in the ads it's back to BVS focus with no Doomsday.

Kind of an off-topic question, but is Superman supposed to be smart? As smart as Batman and Lex?
Ive never read a Superman comicbook, but Ive seen the animated series and animated movies and a lot of the live action movies and he never comes off as smart.
He's not an idiot, but he's always way far behind people like Batman, Aqua Man or Wonder Woman. Only one dumber then Superman seems to be The Flash.

But like I said, Im basing this mostly on the cartoons. Maybe in the books he's a genius, which would fit with his OPness in all areas of life.
