Batman vs Superman: World's Finest Three-Year Wait

I have faith that the story in this film could be really good. I mean, tackling a scenario where Batman and Superman have to fight has been shown to be done both positively and negatively before. However, I think a lot of the extra elements like Luthor, Wonder Woman, and the impact from Man of Steel is gonna lend to this being more than just a simple straight up hero battle.

In most modern incarnations, you don't see anything. It's basically a fighter jet with a highly advanced stealth system.

If nothing else, you gotta love how Gal keeps it real. I hope she does well in the part; I'm rooting for her.

I think when a lot of people think of her invisible jet, they go straight to the Super Friends incarnation. But I mean, it's not really that hard to think of how they would do it - it's basically the way that the Helicarrier in The Avengers goes "invisible". Except in Wonder Woman's case it would be a stealth fighter.

To be fair, that's how DC always drew it up until very recently. I think JLU was the first time I saw it drawn without WW visible.

I guess that's true, I'll admit I haven't really been keeping up with the latest invisible jet depictions :lol

If Wonder Woman can't fly in BvS I'm okay with it. That really just leaves the flying to Supes and GL assuming the lineup is New 52 style (Supes, Bats, WW, Arthur, Flash, Cyborg and GL). Too many flyers and it starts becoming less of a spectacle I think.

Cyborg can fly.

To be fair, probably showed Wonder Woman in it because would be weird to just have a panel/scene with nothing in it.

But in a movie, would probably work like the Helicarrier. You see it go "invisible" but will mostly be shots from inside the plane.

The invisible jet is bafflingly stupid idea for a non-gadget based superhero...

*shrug* I like it. The Amazons were originally masters of science as well as combat and magic. The idea that they'd build a jet (along with a purple healing ray) doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility. I mean, what do you think they did all those years on that island?

A lot of fighting and lesbian orgies?

....I'll see myself out now. <_<

Not being able to fly really irks me... what a weird decision to make if they did go through with it. Seems arbitrary since Superman can already fly in this world. (if their backstory of why she can't fly was their limiting factor, then the backstory should be worked and not the other way around).

Also Shazam can fly (if he's the GL replacement like he is currently in the N52 incarnation). Flash, Aquaman and Batman are the only ones that don't fly.)

  • For the Golden Age, she spent nearly two decades unable to fly.
  • In the Silver Age, she could glide on currents starting in issue #98 (Vol. 1, May 1958).
  • Post-Crisis (1985) and New 52 (2011), she could fly.
  • For the character's comic book 74 year history: 17 unable, 27 gliding, & 30 able.
  • For the character's 4 years of live-action TV history (1975-1979) before millions of viewers across 59 hour-long episodes... she could not fly. Likewise in the unaired (but widely viewed) 2011 NBC pilot.
  • For the character's animated TV history, Superfriends spanned 13 years, 9 seasons, and 109 episodes where Wonder Woman's invisible jet was featured prominently and- generally- she could not fly (although there were occasional continuity flubs, like when the Autobots would fly in Transformers).
  • For Justice League, spanning 5 seasons (2001-2006) and 91 episodes, she could fly.
Depending on how to weight the past and the medium, there's room for interpretation.

Not only that, but a Greek Mythology-inspired hero too? What was the explanation for the jet in the comics?

Depends on when we're talking. At one point, the Amazons built it. At another point, it was a gift from Hephaestus. At one point, it was a sentient alien being that could take any form including a giant floating fortress known as the Wonder Dome. Currently, it's just a stealth ship ARGUS built for Steve Trevor to use as transport for the Justice League of America; Diana herself has not flown it in the current continuity.

Also worth noting that she had the jet in JL Unlimited, usually using it to transport other people (which was the official explanation DC used for why she still had it in the comics at the time).

I was just thinking....

The movie is a year out. By now, they must have sooooo much good shit put together.

Who knows what already exist that's just being watched daily.

I wish we had a trailer already. I need to know what the hell this movie is.

The jet.

Steve Trevor "crashes" on Themyscira, aka makes a hard landing so that the plane he's flying is trashed but salvageable, not totally obliterated. Amazons need a way to get their champion and this male back to his own world, so their brightest smiths "rebuild" the plane only, because they can't fully grasp the advanced technology and concepts that makes it work, they decide to cheat by infusing it with magic. Plane now looks mostly the same on the outside, but is heavily modified on the inside and has properties it didn't before: no guns, armor plating that deflects bullets, it can turn invisible, it doesn't rely on fuel anymore, etc.

Easiest way I've ever come up with explaining the jet was this: it was Steve's, but the Amazons modified it with magic/mysticism and now it's the invisible jet.

There's your easy explanation.

it's now exactly a one year untill Batman v Superman hit. :)

$10 says Porno Harley has a better costume than SS Harley.

This might be somewhat with porn parody of Marvel movies but Zack is on other level in costume designs and I think Suicide Squad will use the same designers Zack used. also from that shot is seems like they are going with the Arkham outfit so it's garbage by default.

I think we'll get something but I'm doubting it's a trailer. Maybe some set photos or something we haven't seen yet. A character poster for cyborg flash or gl would be sweet.

Suicide Squad is Kate Hawley http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1661457/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr15
Snyder has used Michael Wilkinson http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0929452/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr21

And no the arkham outfit is not garbage. If you guy honestly expect a red and black motley jumpsuit bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Yeah... Outside of a quick fan service moment, no way we're getting the OG costume. It won't translate well, and there's no reason to cover up Robbie like that when there's better designs out there.

Arkham City is the best one i've seen. I'm expecting something close to that and/or the new 52 design.

I swear...some of the complaints in that Arkham Knight gameplay thread on Gaming side..."I'm tired of dark and gritty Batman".

I'm anticipating at least a fully-colored shot of the Trinity... but who knows...gosh going to be under one year...

Yea I'd be more than happy with a trinity pic. Or even a full colour full body shot of Batman. Just give me anything. I'm not expecting a trailer at this point.

It's not a binary choice. It's absolutely possible to understand we won't get the classic suit and still think Harley's Arkham costumes are fucking garbage.

...Because they are fucking garbage.

If the classic suit won't happen, and if Arkham's costumes are fucking garbage, what would you suggest?

Probably never going to get Harley's original suit in the movies, it looks great animated, but that suit in the real world in a big budget movie will look so silly and out of place.

Her arkham knight costume is fine, perfect for the real world and looks comfortable for the actor to wear for hours and hours at a time.

so people are still going about Gal Gadot body and want a bodybuilder instead, oh well at least all that it's not in this thread this time. so yeah there is an advantage of this thread going community
