The game is looking good. It seems to be getting better. The framerate was solid, I think I only saw it drop once. The cutscenes look alright, but the voice acting is just :lol
I'm really glad they tore Advance Wars away from this.

Shoulda been online.

Hopefully they'll release a sequel for Revolution, which the developers have already said their interested in doing. If this turns out great then I think they should turn into a big online franchise for Revolution.

Still looks pretty bad to me. Ugly graphics, bad animation, controls look awkward. Maybe it's fun, but I'm sure there's something better on the market. Like someone said, Mercenaries would be a good start.

If you happen to only own a Gamecube, I would suggest the purchase of the Gameboy Player and the original Advance Wars.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. The gameplay looks good. Lots of explosions and action. I can't believe there's no multiplayer though. I read in an interview that the developer couldn't figure out a good way of implimenting it. Maybe framerate problems or just the lack of online infrastructure. Hopefully next gen we'll see something like this online.

You're basing your opinion of the voice acting on the one line of spoken dialogue in the trailer? Don't you think it's a wee bit early to be passing judgment? :p

I've been interested in this game since it was first announced. Glad to see it shaping up nicely.

Why? People here keep saying that, but a) the game hardly seems like it would have been a black mark on the good name of Advance Wars (especially after seeing the trailer), and b) changing the name of this game to 'Battalion Wars' is not going to magically increase the likelihood of Nintendo releasing a 'real' AW on the 'Cube, as some people seem to believe (or more accurately, desperately hope for). I'd rather have seen them keep the AW title to help promote the game (since I think it deserves to succeed, and the tie-in would definitely have helped sales), and enlist IS to provide character designs to tie it a little more closely to the other games.

And was it just me, or does it look like your character runs in slow motion?

It does look slow...
Has looked slow since the very first vids. (Thought they would fix it.)
An easy fix though. (Hopefully they do it, looks kinda weird.)

yeah, kinda looks like they're battling on the moon :p

looks interesting and fun, i think i'll wait for a review though.

the art style is pretty unique which is pretty cool :) and would feel a huge gap in the Gamecubes library

and why are people comparing this to Mercenaries

I will pick this game up if it turns out good once it hits $20. A nice art style and promising gameplay may turn this into a sleeper hit.

I don't know if the gameplay will suit my tastes, but the art style is really cool, it makes me think of the NES. I'd like to see an Excitebike done in this style.

This game was a blast to play at E3 --- even in its unpollished state, I came back to it more than any game at E3 (besides of ShadowofColossus)

It really made me aware that there arent many fun shooters that just aim at being *fun* --- a nice simple dose of strategy sealed the deal.

Hell my gf is even buying a Cube to get this game (and not Zelda) after she played it at E3 ----

EDIT: man, the fog really didn't seem that bad in the actual gameplay --- the sense of scale was almost on par with a Battlefield title...... maybe 'cause they aren't showing many screen-shots from the normal grunt characters.....
Anyways, the character weight/animation and the physics of the tank were some of the best ever.
