I just watched the video, and that part of the game was already shown in the past.
The gameplay still looks old as fuck, the game lacks graphical effects everywhere, the enemies look dumb, they move slow, with little to no AI whatsoever, they are not menacing, their animation is subpar, the guns don't feel powerful and satisfactory.
I liked metroid prime, but I always thought the gun play is lacking punch, speed, effects, I dont remember if the game tracks where the enemies are hit and their bodies animation react accordingly. I get that Metroid games are about exploration, but, cool gunfights would be much appreaciated, cool weapons too. Nintendo makes all kind of excuses not include new gameplay and state of the art technology. That is why their games while fun, feel antiquated.
I recently enjoyed a lot both Zelda games BoTw and ToTK on Switch2. I guess I will keep the console until Nintendo releases this game, and then It will be time to sell it. And wait for Switch 3 to play whatever games i will miss while this Nintendo generation comes to an end.

I wanted a BotW-like rethinking of the entire parameters of a 3D Metroid game. I think the franchise needs it, just like Zelda desperately needed a reboot.

Nah, Its been almost 20 years since Prime 3. They tried new concepts but it didnt work out.

but Other M was outsourced... I want a real, first-tier rethinking. Put a massive core-Nintendo team on it.
It was, but that Retro Studios is gone now. But maybe MP4 will be great, let's see.

My impression was that a lot of the key figures of the original Prime era are no longer with the company.
I do love their DK games, by the way, so I'm not hating them in general, but ... are the people who understand Prime games really still involved?

I played it at Fan Expo, 3D Metroid for the first time, controls of Metroid are quite different from other FPS, when you move right joistick, aim moves instead of whole screen which was quite disorienting for me at first. This game felt like playing Halo 1 for whatever reason. Also mouse functionality of joystick was flawless!
