i hate unlocks
Tanks: Be a gunner, spot and shoot everything that moves, except heavy armour.
Jets: Spot. Spot. Spot. tedious, I know but it'll allow you to unlock heat seekers. While their not recommended it should help you get a foot through the door, and flares which will help you stay a little longer up in the air. If your team can afford to have one less in a jet you can always jump on the F-35 and capture a few bases (early game).
If you're team captain simply spot objectives that your squad mates are going to or are already capturing, should gain a few points and you're helping your squad mates get some extra and who doesn't like more points? If you're captain you can simply designate objectives and spot people for a few hundred points, if there's no decent AA support, per game and if you do start shooting vehicles you should get some easy points there as well. Boats tend to go in a straight line so it's fairly easy to line up your shot, same for buggy's/vodnik and so on but to a lesser extent. You can actually do decent damage to tanks in conquest with the jet cannon, but that's only if you're shooting at the back.
Finally, in a dog fight, try to stick to 315 nmph.

Don't engage an enemy tank head on if you're having problems taking then down.
Flank then from the sides, or from behind.
You're only at a huge disadvantage against a fully equipped tank if you stay stationary on open field when engaging one.
Get to cover, do the back-and-forward "tank dance" baiting their shots.
Learn the maps! This is the most important thing wether you're going with a tank or as infantry.
It's not that hard, keep trying and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.
I can't really comment on jets since I suck with then too! =(

no kidding... (actually thanks for your answer, but i've been playing this game since release and in the last couple of weeks it's been behaving stranger than ever. freezes multiplied. yesterday i dragged an enemy over 100 yards in my tank, without roadkilling him and today i couldn't use afterburners while flying a jet)
Yeah, the games froze a few times for me a few weeks ago but it generally doesn't freeze at all for me. BC2 was freeze central where most of PS3 GAF would get kicked/frozen every few hours. BC1 wasn't as bad as BC2 and I think froze even less than BF3, but Faceless could probably tell you the situations it froze in.
Haha! I was thinking the exact same thing. We seem to be cursed whenever we squad up. Azadi Palace really had me pissed.

That thing can be a real pain in the ass of tanks if the rockets are strong enough, but I'm willing to give Dice the benefit of doubt since they balanced the almighty Xbow very well!

Been going on a tear lately. Played 10 games before I left for work today. Went 225-89. I had two bad games, the rest were shotgun massacres on Aftermath and Close Quarters maps. Mastering the 870 shotgun has also done wonders for my accuracy, putting out less bullets. Used to sit down near 15%. I have it all the way up to 18% now.
My KDR is finally at just about 1.8. I'm curious if I can hit a KDR of 2 before BF4 hits. Think I'm more proud of my 714 SPM.
I don't know what it is about this game, but I'm not even close to getting sick of it yet. Meanwhile I've completely burnt out on CoD and Halo. BF3 definitely has it's faults, but it's such a satisfying game to play.

Better hope for: CTF on all the maps. I'd be willing to play Rush AND CTF on the maps they do it well and they don't limit 4 maps to CTF only.

Also in a "Seks had it covered" moment, I was disarming A first set Wake (found a really lame spot to do that, sort-of like Norshal and a few others) five damn times and the squad of randoms I joined after you two left couldn't defend for shit. AND IGNORED THE AMTRACK to where they went all down the map with that Amtrack.
Amtrack needs to be seriously nerfed into the ground because I'm tired of that fucking thing walking right into a base and killing me when I'm three feet (which would generally stop the gunner of most other vehicles) from touching them. EVERY. GODDAMN. TIME.
Well that makes much more sense considering the focus of the new DLC.

The dropship looks great. I think they found a good way to implement it. Makes me excited for BF4.
The maps seem good, but at least for consoles I think they might have the same problem that Armored Kill maps had, that is being too big considering that you have just 24 players around.

It's nuts that it's already dropping next week. I feel like aftermath was just a little while ago. The wait from CQ to AK seemed so long.
I should really get back to the game, but I'm trying to clear my backlog before this generation is over...
