I did not make up the car meme. This means you have no means to know if i agree with it or not. But just to be sure i'll tell you here and now that i do not agree with it, the part referring the costs at least.

The rest of my post stands. I've been there and done that when a good quantity of the people who brags about pc gaming did not even know what a pc is, so, while i agree that my personal history is making the issue bigger than it could be for someone else, permit me to be utterly fed up by these people.

You can be utterly fed up with those individuals but realize that both sides have their idiots.

I like how you act like only PC games have issues. How many console games come out with teading, slowdowns, freezes, etc. the difference with PC games is there is a community that many times can fix the issue worhout having to wait for the developer to release a patch.

Issues on pc and consoles are different beasts. Let's say that on Pc are more excusable given the fact that a PC is not a standard Hw and operating system while a console is.

And you're right about the community thing. But please be honest here, when i browse console games OP i don't often read things like "My first CTD", just to give an example.

I'm not saying that console gaming is superior to Pc gaming. They're simply different things, that require different efforts.

What makes you think i don't agree with your quote ?
I don't assume you don't agree with it, just pointing it out. I am a Pc and console gamer. I have a Wii U and plan on buying a PS4. There are exclusives on each that I don't want to miss and positives with each platform. To me the 'PC costs x y z' is the equivalent of 'PS3 doesn't have any games' comment. I know you already admitted that the pricing statement isnt true but I just wanted to let you see why I responded the way I did.

I would be a PC and a console gamer too if i had the spare time needed.

Well then, thank you for taking the time to fully express your point ov view, much appreciated :)

One of their community managers was a straight up asshole. During the BF3 Beta he said something along the lines of fans being whiny brats abusing their privilege to play in the beta.

He is now a producer on BF4.

https://twitter.com/zh1nt0
I still don't get how he could get promoted to producer. He was a bad CM during BC2, and was able to get even worst with BF3.

Lie about battlerecorder ? check.
Lie about Esport ? check. ( then one day, month after the game is released, someone finaly ask him, "so what happened to esport who was supposed to be a focus for you " his answer ? "at that time it was"... ).
So many other things...

The only guy at Dice in the recent years I remember as being a good guy is Mikael Kalms. He gave us this , which was finaly some decent info about how things work and why some choice were made, not just taking us for more stupid than we are, he is also the one guy who almost made us be able to remove the color grading in BF3, if it only it wasn't for the other guys a Dice who shutted it ( Patrick Bach ? ); he also seems to still post sometimes in 'Mordor' with technical info , while the last time I saw someone else from Dice come at Mordor he ended up insulting about every fan there and explain us that "it worked in another game ( bf2, etc )" wasn't an argument, etc.

to be fair this mordor community are not the nicest people in the world since you cant find one positive person and they throw around a lot of insults.

Do want to try and get the next Battlefield (this obviously being it) since, from what I've seen, it emphasises vehicular combat and wide-open expanses, and lots of players. That's basically everything I loved about Unreal Tournament.

I noticed facial animation looks awesome in BF4. You can even see this guys fear in the eyes. (quick screengrab I took)

Is this available on either PSN or Xbox Live for download? I know it was streaming on XBL the other day, but I can't seem to find it anymore. I'd like to watch it on my television.

Do you guys believe they are releasing this trailer only on YT so they can have a higher number of views? I know it sounds dumb but maybe they wanna brag about it later.

So DICE have gone on record saying they want to push storytelling in their games?

Is it just me or are a lot of developers finally realizing that technology doesn't make wholly memorable experiences? If a lot of developers adopt a story over tech stance next gen, then I am very excited for this.

The campaign will be a complete waste of five hours, just like BF3's. Wasting valuable manpower on overly scripted garbage when it could be spent on what everybody really cares about, the multiplayer.

Well for some of us (a few) we wouldn't buy BF4 if it didn't have the SP campaign. Not sure how much EA would benefit of they gutted the SP and just used the resources for MP. I mean as is they will probably sell 15-20 copies.

I liked the BF3 campaign. Was it groundbreaking? No. Was it fun for a few hours, yeah. I'll play SP in BF4 as well.

This. I had fun playing through the game. It wasn't exceptional but it was fun. I don't usually play that kind of single player campaigns (the last call of duty I played was call of duty 2 for example) so that might be part of why I enjoyed the game.

Dice went on record to say that advanced tech made them better story tellers... yeah, doesn't really sound to me like they adopted a story over tech stance.

Meh. Some of the missions in BF3 are pretty good shooter missions. The tank mission (and i love me some tanks) is awfully boring though.

Patrick Bach talks about BF4, hasn't been posted here. Highlights:

-DICE aims to integrate multiplayer moments into SP campaign.
-You are going to follow your squad the whole game and not jump to other people scenarios.
-Frostbite 3 is scalable to the best hardware and 7 years down.
-Cant talk about PS4 right now because of various reasons
-Mentioned BF3 had problems and wants to improve that
-Interviewer asks about submarines, Bach says the tease was a water vehicle. Sorry guys seems that subs are not in this game
-Bach mentions that everything in BF4 will run realtime with no cgi cutscenes. (footage of Hanna is real)
-Bach says China is in this game

Actually, I read that part as the exact oposite. He gives a "wth, how do you know about the submarines?" face when asked the question and then says "I don't think we showed submarines", which doesn't exactly rule them out. Seems they just want to keep it a secret for now.

We already knew from the trailer it wasn't a submarine but that face, and this tweet:

Makes me think they're in the game.

Just watched the video again and the fire and water effects are really great. The water looks nice and moves in reaction to the player walking through. The fire, particularly when the helicopter fuel is igniting, is the best I've ever seen in a game. A huge step forward for the engine compared to FB2 and it makes me more excited to see it used in other games that have different needs than BF4.

cloth on the buildings were the most impressive ones i think.

That's a PR account with the task to interact with the user base and make it seem like DICE are listening to everything. I would never take anything it says as truth or even remotely possible.

How can I take it as "truth" if it doesn't actually say it will be in the game? Anyway I'm just taking 3 different things and putting them together, and to me it's indicative of sea combat, with submarines.

It might even be some shitty on rails SP level but my bet it's that it'll be in BF4.

Yeah, sure. "My boss says that I can't talk anything about the PS4 because the next Xbox hasn't been announced, and EA might have a contract with them. Also because I don't want the explosive capsule in my brain to explode".

Or maybe this:

Is it just me or does the trailer get more impressive the more you watch it? The first time I thought , meh not SP again, but now it seems DICE is serious about stepping up their game.

NDAs are still in place on showing/talking about PS4 features and games. Indies have been allowed to talk a bit more since Sony is trying to get support from that community but everyone else is still under lockdown until Sony gives the OK.

I definitely agree. I thought it was lame at first but I've dug it a lot more on rewatches.

Finally got around to watching this.

Visual quality is great but its still not very exciting to look at. Its a shame the nicest looking parts of the footage weren't even during typical gameplay either but scripted scenarios.

Can't say I get the love. I thought Killzone: Shadow Fall was a bit boring to look at but this is easily more uninteresting.

I didn't play Battlefield 3 single player. Could you destroy lots of walls like you could in Bad Company 1 (I can't even remember if you could do it in Bad Company 2)? I liked that game. Big maps and blowing building walls open (even if it wasn't exactly possible to really destroy a building).

Nope, it was a carbon copy of a Call of Duty campaign and it wasn't even as polished and well realized.
