Anybody watched the uncompressed, 60fps version from the Xbox dashboard?

Makes a world of a difference. Why haven't we seen a 1080p/60fps upload yet? Unless I missed something.

I wonder if the average Joe Shmoe 360 owner who doesn't really know much about hardware/game engines will watch the demo on the dashboard and think it'll look like that on their 360 XD

I would hope so considering it states it's PC footage in large letters prior to the gameplay starting.

Saw the 17 minute gameplay video. It doesn't even look that good. Looks no better than BF3 running on a PC at max settings. Colour me unimpressed.

In Gamersyde I trust.

Watch it on your HD-TV guys, this game looks so good and the audio is still miles ahead of any shoother.

the facial technology is really amazing but it was also equally amazing in Crysis 3. The core game itself looks bad. I will just stick to multi as always ;P

Looks good, but I can't distinguish from the previous Battlefield that much, and the selected action scenes were dull. Driving looked like in any other FPS game ever, bad. When you aim for a more realistic approach, you shouldn't disconnect the player in some areas from that realism which happened to me in a few times in a 17 minute clip. How on earth is the full game going to be if 17 minutes had some problems already?

I also missed the BC:Bad Company trio's charisma. They had a way better story there with more likable characters even though it got a bit boring at the end. With this new Battlefield clip, I don't remember any of the characters or their names, why were they there and how it ended. This seemed like the usual, more serious approach which usually ends up disappointing. Whiz bang boom and nothing really makes you care for anyone.

Now I play these mostly for single-player experience, so I would like to have a good story again.
I hope, but won't buy until I've read more feedback. I stopped buying CoD a long time ago as they too can't seem to handle single-player at all anymore. I heard Spec Ops the line is trying a different single-player approach so I'll try that when it gets a discount.

fake?

It looks good, but this isn't the leap I expected. Crysis 3 looks better.

Crysis 3 doesn't favor performance and accessibility. Battlefield isn't looking to break people's pcs, it's meant to look really good but still perform well in any gameplay situation.

Fake as hell. Unprofessional text/layout, expansions are $15, and official pack shots never look like the three different versions right next to each other.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if those features turn out to be true.

So do we know what the environmental destruction in frostbite3 is like? I'm pretty curious about that beyond what was shown in the trailer

Game looks great at 60fps, but man the AI is so bad it takes me out of the immersion.
The enemies go from completely oblivious at 10 feet away to hyper aware marksmen from across the map.

So, is Battlefield gonna regress, or is this the one that will go over 20 million sold?

I'm banking on the latter.
BF4's announcement created a much, much bigger splash than BF3's and EA is already ramping up the marketing machine. Not that YT views are anything to go by, but BF4's trailer has an obscene amount of views, more so than most game announcements save GTA and CoD.

Considering BF3 sold 17-18m and BF4 will be on 5 SKU's instead of 3, the series' popularity is only going up.

New BF4 Interview with Lars Gustavsson

sorry cant make threads right now and the interview is in swedish. Will summarize:

-We at DICE are good at multiplayer but we're not there yet with singleplayer that is why we want to make singleplayer better this time. Trying to implement battlefield moments into single player.
- Frostbite 3 egine is incredibly scalable. Very happy with this.
-Next-gen is just an assumption yet (cant talk about it)
-ANT animations has improved this time.
-I am already at this stage having fun with BF4 multiplayer.
-BF4 multiplayer is meatier and more fresh time time. They have something big planned.
-input and netcode is improved.
-if people boo us, then we have failed. I am the first to cry if we dont succeed.

DICE: singleplayer in BF3 was too linear and too controlling

This time with Battlefield 4, Troedsson says that DICE is taking “signature parts” of the multiplayer and bringing it into singleplayer. They plan to bring some of the “multiplayer sandbox” gameplay into the singleplayer, where the player can chose how to attack a certain objective.

Despite the Battlefield series being known as for its deep multiplayer, some players do appreciate the singleplayer part. Troedsson said that singleplayer is a great introduction for the multiplayer part, where controls and the weapons are the same. Which is a good idea for beginners, as multiplayer is very competitive in Battlefield. As Troedsson puts it “we prepare them for multiplayer”.

The Bad Company series did a lot better then it came to singleplayer, as players simply got an objective and were tasked to find the solution — they had a choice on how to attack, from what angle etc. In BF3, this was a lot more linear and scripted in order to serve the “cinematic story”, which took players out of the game. DICE is looking to add more freedom to the Battlefield 4 singleplayer.

Sounds good, but talk is cheap.

Really too bad they wont show MP until E3.

Also - Lars is looking old. Damn.

I guess they can't talk about next gen until MS starts talking.

Sucks that they are holding up everything for the most part. At least its just one more month.

I will buy it when there is the 'complete' package for a low price. To me i do not feel like it to pre order for 70 euro's. The shine is gone and i really wanted a Bad Company 3.

Sony's also having devs, outside of indies, keep a lid on next gen footage and details. It's not just MS. Neither company has blown the lid off what devs can talk about yet.
