Since there is no hardline opinion thread atm...
I'm not a big fan of bf3+4 and I haven't really enjoyed a BF title since BF2. But hardline has changed that. The gunplay is much more to my liking. Accuracy seems to be increased while recoil has been increased to compensate.
The mode I played (called blood money I think, on map high tension - but maybe that is backwards), I enjoy much more than any mode in any BF title I have played. There is more focus on infantry combat as each team only gets 1 heli and 1 attack truck. The other vehicles are mostly bikes and sedans without built in weaponry. They are great for escorting cash to your vault.
Even without the increased tick rate, weapons have better feedback simply due to the nature of how they shoot and hitmarkers are much easier to discern. This is also due to being a bit more accurate, as far as I can tell at least.
The larger focus on infantry combat is what really seals it as a better game, at least for me. You don't have to worry as much about vehicles, air and land, since they are very limited. And the mode isn't just shoehorned in as a standard fps mode, like domination or tdm, and is actually a pretty decent objective mode.
I don't know why people are saying the map is too large. Most of the combat will be fought within the 3 areas that cash is located, 2 of them being the player vaults and the 3rd being the neutral cash deposit. And I don't actually think the map is that large, there are definitely larger in BF4. It doesn't take long to get right back into the battle either due to the team spawns of course, but mainly because of the amount of vehicles you have access to at your base, most of them being bikes or non-assault vehicles which are very fast and handle very well.
