Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

Finally getting around to playing.

First thoughts: the menu is terrible, especially for settings.

There is alot of positive and some negative. The graphics, gunplay and sounds feels great. The game looks jawdropping in Ultra 4k now that last gen console isn't holding us back in terms of how far they push the engine. I've always been in the minority of hating how long the TTK in BF3 and BF4 was so this game feels perfect in that regard. You actually can't just run out in the open and expect not to get punished for it. The destruction is amazing and finally beats Bad Company 2.

The negatives are the same stuff others mentioned. They need to go back to classes being locked as the default mode because people are just running around as an assault with a sniper and another primary with no real downside. The two lobbies don't fix the issue as it splits the fanbase and nobody plays the locked weapon mode as it isn't the default one.

Movement options are a bit too crazy like the slides and could be toned down. The maps in the beta are average and crammed but the devs already stated there are larger maps in the final game.

I think the game will be successful but the game doesn't bring anything new to the table which is the problem. BF3 completely changed the gameplay and vibe of the series along with the comedy of the Bad Company 2. BF4 had stage events and BF1 was a WW1 setting. In comparison, BF6 is just a back to basics game that doesn't do anything special and is just throwing in modes like Battle Royale and such as extras. That's fine and all but I personally can't see this being one I play long term with the game being so vanilla.

It's fun but nothing groundbreaking or pulling me away from other fps games. I will definitely buy it, will definitely play bo7 more though. Also wtf at the menus?

I had fun with this last night, looking forward to later when a few more of my mates will be about to get a full squad going. I agree with those saying it's nothing groundbreaking, but tbh I kinda like that about it. Maps seem decent, gunplay is fun and it feels like Battlefield. I'm happy with that!

Played a few minutes. Just seems like previous BF's.

Also I had to turn secure boot on. Then when I uninstalled BF, I turned secure boot off. Once my PC booted, it said I couldn't use my pin to sign in right now. Then I had to reset my pin and the codes they sent to my email were not valid. Finally got it changed eventually but wtf.

Battlefield 3 beta feedback........................

I had the same issue with BF3, the TTK was too quick.

BF6 kept the quick TTK and made the TTC (time to contacted) quick too. Imo this just negate the BF squad teamwork. You die before you can even see where you are, where the squad is.

Like anyone really looked at the mini-map in BF6?

Yeah I think the TTK could be a touch higher also.

The compass being off by default doesn't help. Found things a bit better after I found out it was actually a thing.

Does this game has classes like old Battlefields? Where you are unable to equip other classes weapons?
Yes, they have both open and closed weapon playlist.

In the Beta its just conquest for closed. Hopefully its not just that for launch because I don't care much for the conquest game mode.

I wonder if DICE has acknowledged the feedback from the open beta?

The closed beta was supposedly well liked...and this is scary after playing myself.

Things like no naval warfare is also making the game feels not worth the ++70bucks.

What does playlist mean?
Can I choose before joining a game if I wanna play Classic Battlefield? And ONLY people with classes play together?

Not, yet. They mentioned a few things like recoil already though. Probably get a post beta blog post with all that stuff in. Games like this always do that kind of thing.

Exactly this. They still have classes in the open playlist but you can use whatever weapons you like.

I'm enjoying the beta, but I don't think I'll be buying at release.

I think a wait and see is the best bet.

King of the hill is basically hardpoint. Say it quietly but it plays better than Cods version because securing the objective involves more than just finding a corner to camp in.

Just played a bigger map for the first time.

Alright, on second thought, they shouldn't go for big maps, without working suppression you'll introduce too much imbalance fatigue and lose a lot of players post release. The repeat of 2042 is disturbing, how aren't they catching this?

This is a much bigger problem than the map design or the series x crashing, in my opinion.

Adding working suppression won't fix the game, but it'll be a step in a non-fatigue inducing direction which this game very urgently needs.

Open weapons on that medium sized map is a sniper shit show. Deffo in the closed camp after my experiences the last 2 days.

lmao classic. Everyone who says this plays nothing like BF and plays like cod has no fucking idea what BF is

After spending a couple of hours on it, I'd say the mechanical "feel" is a clear departure from 2042. Aiming, accuracy, sway and damage output feels very much a middle ground between 3 & 4 - but with welcome movement upgrades akin to 5 & 2042.

I need more testing.

Morning run and breakfast done.
Cold drinks and snacks ready.
Jumping in! Only played BF4 on PC at launch for like 1 year , around 300h. BF1 on console as well but only 1-2 months , few years after release.

Metro is one of the worst BF maps ever.
Not my cup of tea but..........

no Operation Metro, No Buy.

|-----Metro 24/7 1200 Tickets No Explosives !admin-----|

Now we go to war!!!!!

Metro is fantastic for Rush. Two lanes, one team chips away at each of them whilst the other tries desperately to hold it. It's a pure war of attrition.

I'd like Grand Bazaar too and Atacama Desert.

Wow!

Bring back metro map.

Ps5 pro cross play off is where it's at. I'm buying that version. The performance mode is like butter m

Those PC lobbies are next level, too much for my old bones and trust controller.

Does it /will it support PSSR on the PS5 does anyone know?

It looks really good, I think PSSR adds input delay im not sure

Funnily enough, it's probably the most popular too. It's great if you want that fast-paced experience with lots of kills and chaos but it's a bad Battlefield map especially with 64 players. It's okay in 12v12/16v16.

Jesus Christ, I keep dying over and over again. It's been a long time that I had these huge scale battles.

One thing, why the lack of blood? I get that there's no gore, even though there should be after grenades or worse, but it's just too clean. At least a bit of blood?

there is blood spray when you shoot and blood trail when you drag a soldier

Played on ps5 for 30 minutes. Getting smoked. Enemy players seem always know where I am, even when I'm slowly walking through the alley. The audio was so loud I can't pick up footsteps. Just boom, enemy sprinting from the corner(i didn't hear them) and killed me. Will try again later, maybe just need more time to get familiar with the chaotic sound
