Damn the opposing team was good last night in Arica Harbor Conquest! Basically no snipers at all, at least 8-10 guys rushing from flag to flag etc. We had trouble holding even 1 flag. :/

I'm noticing a tread in this game. Seems like a lot more people are more into spawn camping then defending their own M-COMs.

My awesome moment of today was getting a headshot in Atacama Desert with Smoke grenades from behind the dunes in the first checkpoint.

I shot from that dune to that area and actually got a headshot with Smoke grenade :lol

I wish I could have seen the actual shot, but I did see the kill info pop up on the screen and was impressed lol.

yeah, i still remember that game the other day when it was 7 on 7 on Isla Inocentes and the defenders had 2 people in our Blackhawk, 2 people in the HIND and at least 1 person in our Bradley. we basically wanked right into their base and took both crates because they had 2 people MAX actually in their base defending. but hey, they got all the vehicles!

nice shot! i've gotten quite a few hilarious smoke launcher kills myself. it's so fun to use!

Hi Battlefield fans! We are happy to announce the release of the new PC patch version R9 for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on October 29th.

We examined the different issues submitted by the community in the thread called "My biggest issues" on the forum. Additionally we have collected feedback for some time now and incorporated a lot of community wishes, so we are really excited to release this.

Please note: All game servers will need to be taken down for updates. The maintenance period starts on Friday, October 29th at 06:00 AM GMT. Most of the servers should be back up by 10:00 AM GMT. The patch is roughly 900 MB in size.

How to get the game client updated
* If you are using Steam: the Steam client will automatically begin updating your game client once Oct 29th, 6:00 AM (GMT) has passed by.
* If you are not using Steam: then the game’s online updater will find the version online at the same hour and ask you to patch.
* If you are not using Steam: we will also publish an offline updater. Download links will be added to this blog post during the day.

Here is the complete fix-list for the patch
- All Weapons Bronze Insignia requiring an unobtainable bronze star for the tracer dart – requirement removed.
- Improved Hit registration made through several fixes and some of the hitboxes themselves have been changed. This will increase the accuracy of guns.
- Blue box chat window removed
- The 2 second immunity when spawning/being revived will now be immediately removed either by firing, zooming, or any movement (move, crouch, jump). A Spawning Player can still orient passively in the Game World..
- 3D vision fixed.
- Fixed slug shotgun zoom crosshair on PC so they better represent the long range accuracy. Crosshairs now close more on PC, similar to consoles.
- Reduced slug shotgun hip accuracy to require zooming for consistent long range accuracy. Hip accuracy is now on par with the semi automatic weapons.
- Fixed a bug on PC where the G3 would do less damage than intended.
- Fixed VADS turning sensitivity on PC so it performs like the ZU23.
- Reduced VADS push back and damage to balance it with the ZU23.
- Fixed a bug where vehicle countermeasures would fail to remove tracer darts at high speed.
- Reduced the reload time for vehicle countermeasures.
- Slightly increased the AT4's damage vs armor to emphasize its anti vehicle role while keeping it balanced vs armor.
- Increased the AT4’s top speed and acceleration so users spend less time exposed when firing.
- Increased the AT4's splash damage so it competes with other AT weapons vs infantry. The AT4 still has the least splash damage of all AT weapons.
- Reduced the splash damage of the Carl Gustav to bring it in line with other explosive weapons. The Carl Gustav still has the most splash damage of all AT weapons.
- Increased the 1 shot kill range of the M95 body shot to counter its lower rate of fire.
- Fixed a bug with the SVU that gave it better close range damage than other semi auto weapons.
- Reduced all weapon damage to the MCOM by 50%.
- Fixed an C4 vs MCOM exploit on Atacama Desert.
- Fixed a bug with FOV when aiming the M1911.
- Lowered the close range damage of the AN94 to highlight its long range role.
- Increased the accuracy of the F2000 on the move to highlight its role as a mobile AR.
- Increased the close range damage of the shotguns to give them a greater advantage vs slugs.
- Slightly lowered the damage of the M60 to balance its accuracy advantage vs other LMG's.
- Slightly lowered the damage of the MG3 at close range to balance it with other high rate of fire weapons.
- Slightly increased the damage of the UH60.

Pretty happy about all of these changes. I think the 50% reduction is great, but sorta wish it was more.

Great changes. Didnt even notice the change to the AN-94. More good news. Still a few bugs and issues to fix but overall a great patch.

I think they fixed that on PC last patch but I'm unsure

Yeah, I know. But I'm sitting there with a tank from the first base spawn trying to chokehold the way down + "Shortcut with the jeep", NO ONE IS IN THE GUNNER.

"PLEASE GUYS GET IN THE GUNNER! *cries*"
"PLEASE GUYS STAY NEAR ME TO REPAIR! *cries*"
"SOMEONE, ANYONE! *cries"

So frustrating.

I could've done more with it if I had V ALT instead of V Reload at the time, but I took the buildings and some cover out and they finally got around you guys at the far side of the map and took me out and took the tank out. Argh.

That said, I fired a 40MM grenade across the map and killed someone in Nelson Bay those set of games. I was like "WTF :lol "

Bloody Hell, I had the best MP game ever in a competetive FPS game. BC2 rocks so hard its so gonna be my GOTY for me.

In one match i had 2.40 K/D ratio which is highest ratio I ever got. The first game was rubbish (as always) got killed bunch and my team (Alpah Team) lost by being the last of the 4 teams. The second match was better, but just for me. I had 0.80 and 70% of the kills was by me. Just shows how rubbish my team was. The third match was even better, had better players (Charlie team) but we were only 3 (we started actually by being 2 of us!) but we piut lot of fight and it was tight (50,48,48,47), we came 2nd place.

The fourth match was absoltely blast to play. I was soo good that I couldn't bellieve it myself. I choose Medic, just to find out my level is really low on the 360 version. In PS3 version i had it fully levelled and I could have the best kit, but on the 360, I play Engineer. So i went with the Lv 1 shotgun, and man, was it good. I keep dominating the game, Had a ratio of 2.40 (as I mentioned before) and I had really good teamates as well. I had 18 kills total and we won (50, 18, 12, 4 :lol ) amazing, just bloody exhilarating. Now I know how many people feel about competetive FPS gaming.

I love this game so much :D

I thought I was the only one who got that :lol

Actually, on the PS3 version, I get 'You Lose' massage whenever I win, But on the 360, I get blank screen with no text :lol

Anyone know what this is/was?

Anyway good to see the AT4 getting some extra speed and damage against armor.
I'm gonna miss blowing up MCOM's so easily with explosives, and I can't believe that they didn't fix the UAV C4.

Also, Am I the only one who prefers this game on the 360 than the PS3? for some reason I can play much better on the 360. And the FPS controller is better on the 360 in general.

I prefer Blazeblue on DualShock 3 though.

I hope they finally fixed the C4 Splash damage going through walls. I'm tired of using countermeasures for an exploit that shouldn't be. Shame no fix for UAV C4. Instead of a group of 2 C4ing UAV it's going to be at least 5 for 1 shot kill at least.

This patch pretty much caters to me lol. None of my weapons have been nerfed, in fact the weapons they boosted in power are some of my favorites. :lol

They also helped me as a pilot. VADS has been balanced - much needed. I hate how it makes you lose control and get smacked out of the sky so violently.

I also like how the Blackhawk guns have been boosted. That will also help as a pilot since you guys can get kills easier.

Awesome. I think I might start looking for a cheap PC copy since it seems like a totally different game with all the patches, not to mention looking great graphically.

The UAV and C4 bullshit ruined the console versions for me. I used to do it before it was cool and ended up getting sick of it right away as it requires no skill. Now I can't go in a game without seeing someone try that when we should have won as we played great defensively.

It's like I'm the only one attacking while others are "sniping" (just like MOH except they're even worse in that game) and then I'm the only one defusing on defense even though I'll just end up losing due to the stupid UAV.

The only problem is I'm just about out of money from what I had left from the military about two years ago...Medical problems are expensive. :lol I should have bought it on PC when I saw it for 15 bucks. Someone let me know if you see a good deal on it.

UAV C4 promotes sitting back with campfires and smores. When they do it after patch at least I can attempt to kill 5 guys (1 operator, 4 guys with 6 C4). I'm glad they acknowledged that it wasn't just C4, because if they only reduced C4 people will flock to RPG M-COM sniping, hell a lot of lame teams are already doing C4, UAV C4, RPG sniping, boating, and bradley/tank sniping. Pretty much everything but arming that damn thing.

Another thing I forgot, what about the ridiculous points from C4ing M-COMs? Should scrap it really.

I bet I'll still be using the AN really even after the nerf because the most powerful aspect of the gun is not the pure damage, it's the incredible accuracy it has over the rest of the Assault Rifles.

Hopefully "Suzanne" aka my 870 Combat remains untouched when the console patch drops as well. I roll with slugs, but I mostly zoom for long & intermediate shots anyway so the reduction in hip accuracy shouldn't be a big deal.

Playing on a shitty team is so frustrating. I hate losing. What makes it worse is when I am on a role and just sniped 5 people consecutively in under 15 seconds trying to hold the last set on Arica. I die and no one on the team is there to stop them and they arm the point.

I joined at the start of the second set of mcoms. I end up going 47-15 for first on team with ~4000 points. Next closest person on team was around 20/25 k/d at ~2500 points.... Hell the other team didnt have a player over 35 kills. We lost all the points so fast. Didnt even come close to stopping them....

Ahhh you're right. lol I didn't feel confident in my guess at all it just didn't seem right.

That's good news for us in the choppers then. I think it's only fair too. With guns like the VADS and then tracers being so quick and accurate now, even with the smoke as it is now I still felt like I was the one at a disadvantage even though I have a gunner and missiles and a freakin' Apache lol.

I'll be back soon playing this. My friends played a dumb prank on me and deleted my whole friends list while I was passed out drunk. And I haven't been playing much games lately anyway so I never got back to adding some of you. I remember most of you that I played with though so hopefully you guys are not mad. I miss this game...

Yeah dreamgazer was wondering if you were going to join, I'm not going to egg you on to play.

I'll see if I can play tomorrow, I'm not playing on Saturday. I'm going to start working out on Saturday.

Today was a bit frustrating but I felt way more disappointed then frustrated. Wes and I had a bunch of level 40-50s on our team being more useless then level 15s. There were literally over 6 of them on our team. Dreamgazer joined up eventually and it was a struggle just to win because we were doing all the work.
