The blue and silver added to the color scheme, along with the silver angel heels, makes me think that she'll be jumping into more of that angelic side of herself (lol).

I haven't played Bayonetta yet and don't know anything about this, but I just assumed the blue guns were to tie in with the blue WiiU theme? Kinda like how the arkham city boxart has a load of blue all over it instead of the usual colours.

Trying to switch the focus a bit, since saw this in another thread.

Does partnering with Nintendo for this game give it better, worse or the same amount of chance to succeed?

I would say better, actually.

Bayonetta established a fanbase, single-system release means lower expectations and now I'd suggest that Nintendo fans will give it a bigger look because it's exclusive.

Yup. Fair enough. On the other hand, in that example lumping said person in with those ranting about how they're gonna go after this new guy is a bit remiss though. There's was a fair amount of that sort of thing here.

Yes, also fair. I understand why people feel this way, and there is definitely a distinction between people who simply have this emotional impulse (a very common, ultimately harmless thing) and those on the very far end of the spectrum who want to take action by slaughtering the entirety of Japan to atone for these sins of whatever crazy solution Twitter users are coming up with now.

Regarding those twitter posts: the biggest problem, in my eyes, is that the twitter user in particular is a former, now banned (and likely still hugely racist) member of Neogaf.

As I'm sure you're aware, banned members of NeoGAF can no longer post on NeoGAF. We do this for a reason, and posting his twitter feed allows him to continue shilling his dribble from beyond the grave.

I'm imagining now people going out to buy a WiiU the day Bayonetta 2 releases, cursing all the way home while looking at the console they just bought in utter disgust.
Upon entering their living room, they'll get out the Nithril gloves to open the WiiU box, trying their best to avoid vomiting on the floor.
They then proceed to hook up the HDMI and AC cable to the WiiU, insert the Bayonetta Disk and put the WiiU in a black box with holes for the cables, seal it shut and place it behind the TV, out of sight.
Having done months upon months of research how to get a PS3 controller connected to the WiiU they then proceed to start up the game. After a hastly dash to the bathroom, due to the explosive diarrhea and skin irritation the WiiU boot up screen caused, they decide to take a hot bath, disinfecting their bodies with rubbing alcohol using a steel wool pad to clean themselves, to get the dirt off their bodies.

After their skin has healed, they proceed to finish Bayonetta 2, hating every second of it, turning into a deranged self hating troll, not unlike Smeagol turning into Gollum, obsessed with the power of Bayonetta 2 forcing them to play the unspeakable dust collector they had to buy.

Everyone else won't act like a hypocrit, and either buy the console and actually enjoy the game and maybe even get into the rest of the library, or simply rent the console, borrow it from a friend, rent the game, or even buy it, and play and finish it. Upon returning the console they then proceed to put the game up for resale or trade it in at Gamestop.
The drama queen bullshit that is pulled over this game being resurrected as an exclusive is just downright pathethic. So much for playing games, not systems. There's not much to this mantra it seems.

I would imagine it would have a better chance of succeeding with Nintendo publishing the title. I imagine they'll be pushing this title pretty hard.

Is Nintendo involved in the development of the title in any way? Kind of like what they're doing with Ninja Gaiden 3.

Glad to hear he's banned.

It could be that too, but they'll likely still attempt to justify it in the game in some way. Bayo doesn't really like angels except for when she's getting to kill them, so introducing angels to the Bayonetta imagery sent up a flag for me.

maybe i'm just overthinking it tho

it's bayonetta 2 ;__________;

I wonder if Nintendo will continue this partnership with Sega. I'd love to see Dreamcast 2 alive in spirit in Wii U.

Shenmue, Sonic Adventure 3, Power Stone 3. Make it happen, Nintendo!

Is PG going to be at TGS?..maybe there we will get a bit more of info than a simple teaser

Platinum Games is a developer, not a publisher. Nintendo is the publisher for both The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, and Nintendo doesn't go to TGS. Konami is publishing Rising, which is also by Platinum, and that will be at TGS.

Maybe we'll be seeing Bayonetta open up into an Lumen Sage based move set (since her father is a Sage, she should have the ability to use their skills too). The blue and silver added to the color scheme, along with the silver angel heels, makes me think that she'll be jumping into more of that angelic side of herself (lol).

omg could you imagine if we could switch between witch and sage move sets on the fly

omg

i would cry

I want there to be a thread about this game instead of about the stupid shitstorm from idiot fanboys.

I'm so excited. I hope it doesn't take too long to get some details.

Wow over 5000 replies for a niche game that was cancelled an no one cared about until it was resurrected by nintendo.

This game might actually sell better than the first one thanks to the publicity. All according to keikaku?

I think the game will introduce itself to a new market and not just its current fans, some of which are overeacting a bit. This might be good for the franchise in the end.

Seriously question. How much do people think B2 will sell?

Hard to tell ... could go either way.
The fact that it's a new console gen should help, the fact that Nintendo could do far better promotion for the title than the original is also a MASSIVE plus (I love la roux but a vague, moody, dark commercial popping up once in a well didn't really help the game). But the fact that it's a sequel could count against it seeing as it would rely on the 1 mill and-some-change who got the first.

Smartest move, to ME, would be making a Bayonetta 1&2 bundle with artbook and some other swag that's sold for "not-very-much" along side the game to help encourage new people to pick it up. And put Bayonetta in Smash to gain the Nintendo gamer's love.

But hell, that's pretty much my thought on most any WiiU HD sequel at this point. IDK how likely people are willing to buy sequels to games they haven't played. :/

Interesting to see this outbreak over Bayonetta 2 and at the same time Wonderful 101 being ignored by these posters. If you liked Bayo that much, wouldn't you follow Kamiya's new game closely?

Maybe putting 1 up on the online shop when it launches?

I've seen some mixed answers from both sides regarding Bayonetta 2 being exclusive to Wii U. Just how do publishing deals work? Since Nintendo is publishing this, is it forever that they will publish this exclusively? No one can step in the middle and start publishing for other consoles if I'm correct?

My assumption right ahead was that since Nintendo is publishing Bayonetta 2, it being ported to any other console was out of the question. Maybe the 3rd one has that possibility but definitely not the 2nd one. Is this sort of what's going on right now, or am I totally wrong?

So what would make you buy a console then, if not the games on it? I'm not sure I understand. You want to make an "informed decision" on what console you buy. What do you base this decision on, if not the games you want to play on the system?

These are honest questions that are not intended to be rhetorical or sarcastic. I'm genuinely interested in your answer.
The games and the track record of the company involved are what I base my decision on. So when a game is multiplatform, I don't have to consider it in my decision-making, which makes the choice less consequential and therefore easier. If it were up to me, every game would be multiplatform. I don't see how the decision to make a game single platform is ever advantageous to the consumer barring some specific circumstance.

Seems the most likely string of actions. Nintendo buying P* is also not out of the question since they don't fit into Sega's strategies.

I'd be perfectly content if both sides would compromise.

WiiU is a next gen system, and it's also only marginally more powerful than the generation before. Which is a step up from the Wii. Which in some ways was weaker than the Xbox.
The problem here is that when people discuss about this whole next gen/last gen thing they are usually talking about different things.

When many people said, for example, that Wii was last gen, they weren't saying that it wasn't Nintendo's next system; what they were saying is that the system didn't offer the traditional hardware jump associated with a next generation system and therefore you would still be playing GC+ era games with a new control method.

The Wii U is Nintendo's next system so it is a next gen system, but at the same time the hardware seems to be closer to what is already on the market than what's coming out next year. Everything indicates the gap will be smaller this time around though.

If Nintendo is publishing the game, is there really anything but a 0% chance that this game will not be exclusive?

Has a Sony/Microsoft published game ever ended up on a competing console?

Like one they actually published and not just distributed? Don't think so. People are going to be dust before Mass Effect 1 is on a non-Xbox console.

Wipeout 64 doesn't count either

Hmmmmmm never played the first Bayonetta but intended to so I'll have to get a copy asap

But LOL at this thread, crazy haha but glad to see Bayonetta 2 rise from the grave and being made :D

Conflicting, Bayonetta is in my top 5 of this generation easily (among mario galaxy1/2, etc), but I really wanted it on 360 even though I plan to buy a Wii U (possibly day 1). I just prefer the controller, but if it really was a matter of it's either this or it's canceled, then why not.

My main concern of course, is that when newer more powerful hardware launches, we won't get to see Bayonetta flex the graphical muscle it was able to prior, really a shame. With that said if the games actual quality can compare to the original, it will be a day 1 purchase for me and if I don't have a Wii U by that time, I will that day.

Ninja Gaiden 2 did and that was MS.

But given Nintendo is willing to help them grow the brand i think they wont be going anywhere until Nintendo says so.

Ninja Gaiden 2 was published by Microsoft.

However Tecmo has continued the franchise where as Sega had canceled Bayo 2 so they would need to actually choose to work on it again, and this doesn't even mean they could depending on the deal Nintendo and Sega worked out.

I can't imagine that Nintendo would bother to bring this back from the grave without getting true exclusivity or even partial ownership of the IP.
