Ninja gaiden 2 must have been a unique deal, because stuff like mass effect which MS had their hand in deeply has not gone anywhere they didn't want it to go. I'm sure MS publishing it was more a ploy to aid in marketing and gaining a timed exclusive, very similar to how xbox live arcade games can be published by MS and still moved elsewhere.

I don't think Nintendo has historically ever done anything like that, see fatal frame, etc, so if you're a fan of Bayonetta it's probably smart to make your peace with this.

It is like a forbidden fruit that I cannot eat, yet it is dangling right in front of me and its scent is making me hungry. Yes, I am glad that a sequel to a game that I liked is being made, but the annoyance of not being able to play it (or that it would be very inconvenient and possibly expensive) outweighs this and causes me frustration and anger.

You do know that at some point, likely in the very near future, the Wii U will cost substantially less than $300 right?

And at that point not only will Bayo2 be out, but so will a host of other games that you SHOULD play.

They might not be in your normal comfort zone, but that doesn't mean you don't owe it to yourself as a fan of the medium in general to try them out.

I bought a Wii shortly after launch. Overall it wasn't worth it, but SMG 1&2, Xenoblade, and SNK v. Capcom made up for that quite admirably. If I would have had a bit more patience and bought the Wii now at it's current price point with reduced pricing on the games I wanted to try it would have felt like something of a steal.

I'll never get console loyalty. All the consoles, handhelds, and the PC have their subsets of great exclusives. It isn't hard to afford all of them, and at some point in every generation there is enough of a lull to fit in something new.

Instead of playing rehashed sequels and B level games you should spend your time playing only the best of the best, and work down from there. If you have so much free time that you actually start playing the B tier games go buy a competing system and it's AAA titles to reset your list of truly quality games to play through.

I can't imagine that Nintendo would bother to bring this back from the grave without getting true exclusivity or even partial ownership of the IP.
I don't think any of us can say at this point.

Given what happened with Spirit Camera and the FF deal I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to be willing to buy partial rights to a niche franchise.

At the same time we just don't have any info about the deals specifics so any assumptions are worthless at this point.

To be fair Tecmo had to go to great lengths to make the sigma versions "different" which i don't think they could have done with Mass Effect.

Conflicting, Bayonetta is in my top 5 of this generation easily (among mario galaxy1/2, etc), but I really wanted it on 360 even though I plan to buy a Wii U (possibly day 1). I just prefer the controller, but if it really was a matter of it's either this or it's canceled, then why not.

Not much difference really :lol

Let's talk about something awesome.

I fucking love the new logo colors. Shiny emerald/azure blue on black > all other color schemes. Scarborough Fair also got upgrades to the master color scheme based on the teaser. Come at me GAF.

Let's talk about the fact that mothafuckin' Bayonetta 2 got UNCANCELLED. Dreams were shattered and Nintendo glued all those mothafuckin' pieces back together.

I still don't believe this shit really just happen.

It's definitely one for the history books. Unprecedented, as far as I know.

I want them to go all in with this shit and bring me my Jet Set and Megaman Legends (among others). Every part of my rational mind is screaming at me for even thinking about it, let alone making joke posts on the subject, but I am in full "BELIEVE" mode after this one.

Edit: For reference's sake, yesterday I traveled into Manhattan to livestream the NoA conference at Nintendo World, missed half of it and saw the Activision reel going "cool Nintendo :)" that they got BLOPS2 even if it wasn't my kinda game. Then, right at the end, Reggie makes an offhand "oh yeah we have Bayonetta 2 exclusive" and it was like my mind impoded on itself. I was looking at this screen like "does this motherfucker even know what a Bayonetta is" in disbelief. :lol

Viewtiful Joe 3 will happen, my dude

Grace and Glory/Gracious and Glorious force you to become a better action game player. I had coasted through Ninja Gaiden 1&2, most of the Devil May Cry series, and all of God of War with only mediocre action chops. Bayonetta doesn't allow that. You can't win without developing skills. It's impossible.

Not really.
The only challenge i got was from the final boss and her black hole crap.

Maybe we'll be seeing Bayonetta open up into an Lumen Sage based move set (since her father is a Sage, she should have the ability to use their skills too). The blue and silver added to the color scheme, along with the silver angel heels, makes me think that she'll be jumping into more of that angelic side of herself (lol).

omg could you imagine if we could switch between witch and sage move sets on the fly

omg

i would cry

:o

:O!!!

We should be friends.

I would love this as well, also I think the heels being blue are more than they seem.

You could switch, on the fly, weapons between blue and red extremely quick in the first. Also, there was a definite red/blue(such as grace/glory contrast in the game, whether it was due to the story or a stealth reference to Dante/Vergil. I would for one love to see the next game take a darker theme tone, since the game was all about angels, and go to the demon/devil side a bit more.I want the enemies to all have a different style look and weapons, and the game to have more silver instead of gold.

Also...I thought someone might appreciate this that I just made:

That explains everything. Some people take the "master race" shit a little too seriously.

The guy gave you an answer and you dismissed it because you could not argue against it. Lol.
Besides this

Why bother? I am not going to write an assay over your salty attitude.

In short: Frequent and lengthy load times, bad camera issues. Repulsive character designs and nonsensical story. Didn't like the QTEs. Combat gameplay was OK.

Mediocre.
I had a damn bug when i quite a game in the middle of a level, even though it auto saves it restarting me at the beginning of the level. Extremely annoying bug. And i hated the character Bayonetta. She was annoying. But apparently Bayonetta is perfect and beyond criticism because a sequel came to your preferred corporation. That´s such a pathetic attitude for you to have.

Sure, it'll be made by some incompetent western team when Capcpom outsources it. They'll change the entire style/feel/characters/story/powers claim it's still a VJ game when we all know it's not and it will be terrible. But that's not even the worst part. They'll do the same with God Hand and Okami! :´C

I'm liking the idea someone suggested of a training mode on the screen. Have it accessible at any time and maybe do something funny like Bayo pulls out a 3DS and starts playing on the main screen while you're on the pad screen and I'm in.

You mean the answer where he said he wasn't going to bother to answer? :lol

Load times weren't that bad on 360 and even incorporated minigames, character designs and story are not what people play action games for, and claiming the combat system is merely "OK" is objectively wrong from a technical standpoint when pitted against just about any other action game you can name. Bayonetta is an exemplar of the genre, and if you think it's mediocre then the odds are that you would say the same about anything in the same genre, in which case you are writing off an entire category of games. The context of his original post was expressing surprise that people care about Bayonetta; if indeed he was writing off the entire action genre, he shouldn't be surprised that people have a different perspective when the existence of the genre itself should make that self-evident.

I cannot believe you baited me into typing this, I'm going to go watch the Obsidian Kickstarter some more.

this needs to happen >.>

My man.

Platinum X Capcom. Make it happen.

Edit: On Bayonetta, a style switch between Umbra & Lumen would be godlike. Kamiya skipping right to new age DMC3 from new age DMC1? Yes please.

This is a win/win scenario. Just imagine if 2 is as big of a jump as that comparison.
It would be absolutely untouchable all generation guaranteed.

Regarding those twitter posts: the biggest problem, in my eyes, is that the twitter user in particular is a former, now banned (and likely still hugely racist) member of Neogaf.

As I'm sure you're aware, banned members of NeoGAF can no longer post on NeoGAF. We do this for a reason, and posting his twitter feed allows him to continue shilling his dribble from beyond the grave.

Hmmm, didn't think of it like that. I confess to posting his twitter a few times in the past, so there's that.

Though it is understandable, it is kind of a shame, because East of Eastside is fascinating in that out of every single troll and miscreant I had the pleasure of meeting on the internet he is without the doubt the most insane and resentful soul there is (and I browsed 4chan for a few years). Guy applies a fanaticism unseen outside of the Westboro Church to videogames. Anyway, I guess I should I save musings about him for certain type of threads in OT.

That the earth will face three threats, and there is still one last, big threat left.
Right Uncle Jet ViewtifulCJ?

That's right! The secret behind the Black Film and the Black V-Watch, lies in the last threat. But THERE belongs an enemy beyond your imagination!

why do I know these words by heart, this is soul-crushing :(

Should probably call the cops on him, he seems mentally unstable and a slight shove from murdering a random pedestrian.

Then what are we standing around here for? If we can't do it, no one can!
Soul-crushing in-fucking-deed :(

I know who the enemy is. Starts with the letter 'C'.

Reading this whole thread again, I fully believe that if we had a one console future and it was run by Nintendo, had all the core games and top features, people will still avoid them.

Of course. That is what being painfully anti-consumer does.

No optical out. No ethernet. Horrible online structure. System updates and peripheral announcements centered entirely around pushing Nintendo products and nothing else.

But then, those facts about Nintendo and how many consumers it chases off is exactly why we'll never see a Nintendo led one console future. They're the republican party of video games in that they don't want consumers questioning what Nintendo obviously knows is best for them (read: best for Nintendo's bottom line).
