When all my friends want a new PS2 or 360 games thier parents tell them just to play on old ps1 or xbox game.

most the time they wish that they couldnt do that.

my dad wants 2 new games for our 360, but mom says just play the old halo 2 or GTA VC we cant be spending $60 bucks on a new game all the time.

has this happened to you?

No because I buy my own games. I doubt many will have the problem. I would say a good 95% of gaffers are old enough to buy their own games.

First off, BC 'ARE' a bad idea.

Second off, you're an idiot.

Thirdly, parents of children will more readily agree to buy a next console if it is BC, as their child's current library of games will still work, lessening the need to immediately build up a new game library.

Fourthly, get a job and you don't have to worry about it.

Well hopefully dad can go out and spend $60 on something he likes once in a while. Should be fair considering he's paying for the house, cars, food, pretty much mainting the existance of the family.

BC gaming is great. I play older games all the time, via emulation mostly, but now with BC becomming more popular i get to enjoy many games from my console past. I will play ZOE2, SOTN, SOTC, etc. on the ps3 if given the opportunity.

Don't tell mom about Xbox live arcade, she'll restrict you guys to buying only $5 live arcade games.

Man, you guys are harsh. GAF is family friendly (most of the time). Just trade in your old games and your Mom won't be mad about the $60 and she can't tell you to play old games.

btw, GTA and Halo2 are rated M - your Mom shouldn't be letting you play them anyway.

Even if there was not BC, parents would simply say to play the games you already have.

As far as I know, BC stands for Backwards Compatible of Backwards Compatibility, depending on context. It is singular, not plural.

dad said if i ever got a job, they wouldnt let me spend the money on anything i wanted.
