I know this is purely a divisive personal opinion, but pacing-wise I feel like the anime/movies go:
- "Oh my god, that one time appearance of that Zodd guy was crazy."
- Griffith and thus the Band of the Hawk really are at their lowest point.
- In the movie at least, the point of view subtly shifts to Griffith during the quiet aftermath and puts you in the mindset as to why he'd call upon the eclipse.
- The eclipse happens out of nowhere
-"Oh my god, look at all these terrible monsters this is hell on earth."
In the manga with Wyalt, it goes
- "Oh my god, Zodd was nuts."
- Griffith is at a low point
- Forget about Griffith for now, there's a monster man chasing us
- Oh look, there's a second monster man to kill the first monster man
- This is generally awesome, but there isn't a lot of breathing room after picking up Griffith
- The eclipse is happening,
- "Oh my god look at all these monsters but I guess we just had a reminder two minutes ago that there are monsters in the real world so I guess we shouldn't be as surprised to see a bunch here."
I love Wyalt's character and hope he's get some schlocky screentime in the game, but I feel like his presence detracts from Griffith's pivotal moment slightly.
