In my opinion, it's Estranged -- no contest whatsoever. Runners-up: November Rain and Civil War.

We have someone who favors the 10-minute roller coaster ride epics?

Those are my three favorite songs... although I prefer Civil war over November Rain if that's meant to be in order... You are dear to my heart!

Count of Concision
"November Rain", "Sweet Child O' Mine", and "Patience" are my faves. :)

"Paradise City" and "Welcome to the Jungle" are great, too.

Edmonton's milkshake attracts no boys.
So hard to choose... For their epics I think "November Rain" is my favourite. For there hard rocking tunes I think "You could be mine" is my fave.

Will start substantiating his hate
Guns N' Roses is the greatest rock band ever. Hell it's the greatest band ever period. Anyone know if Chinese Democracy is actually getting a release?

GDGF

Soothsayer
Don't Cry is my favorite, but I also loved the cover of Live and Let Die, and Patience is a classic. Those are tops, but there aren't very many G&R songs that I didn't like. Hell, I even liked One In A Million (and offensive as hell, it was...)

Welcome to the Jungle still gets me pumped up (for what? driving in my car, I guess).

Another fav is "I used to love her" off of the spaghetti incident.

Mr Brownstone

I didn't get into their epic "November Rain" esque songs myself.

I also don't understand the love for "November Rain." All the GnR fans I knew growing up had the exact same reaction when that song was released as a single: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE BAND I USED TO LOVE? WHAT IS THIS POMPOUS STRING-LADEN CRAP?

As for best GnR song, it's probably a toss-up between "Paradise City" and "Mr. Brownstone." The thing is, there aren't really a lot to choose from -- the two Use Your Illusion discs were terrible and Lies was a gimmick record, so you're pretty much stuck with picking something off Appetite For Destruction.

Now, if you started a topic about the best VAN HALEN song, that would be a more interesting discussion. ;)

Civil War is locked in at number one on my list.
You Could Be Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, and Mr Brownstone are all battling it out for the next tier. Imagine my shock at learning that Mr Brownstone was actually referring to drugs! I didn't sleep well that night, let me tell you

Has there been a rock band since GnR that has kicked everyones ass? I was pretty much into rap at that time, and hearing 'Appetite' for the first time was pretty mind blowing. Even african american friends (that only listened to rap and r&b) seemed to like it.

The November Rain love is probably due in part to its pair of awesome extended Slash solos and the dark coda.

My personal faves are "Don't Damn Me," "Yesterday," and "You Could be Mine." I really dig the Lies album too.

I fuckin love Appetite for Destruction. Any song on that CD is a classic, although Welcome to the Jungle gets me pumped everytime I listen to it, and I have to say that I really like the "live" version of Estranged off the Live Era Double CD.

Harsh much? Use Your Illusion is a great album, spread over two albums and padded out with the occasional turd (My World, for a start...) I've got a lot of time for Civil War, Don't Cry, 14 Years, Yesterdays, Dust n'Bones and a few others.
